Second floor sleeping porch has single 'daybed', suitable for guests. Overlooks the yard and is adjacent to a small outdoor sitting porch. Yard is private, tastefully landscaped with outdoor furniture and is accessible via iron gate and enticing walkway to/from street. Updated kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer. The location in the heart of the historic district makes this house unique, along with the convenience to nearby shops and restaurants and historic sights. On street parking is available though one can do without a car, given the convenience of this location. Bicycling around this charming city is great fun. There are beaches within 20 minutes. About the owner: My mother was from Charleston and owned this house for many years. She lived in Massachusetts but spent several months in Charleston each year. My sister and I own the house now. We have many cousins in the city and enjoy frequent visits.
Why the Owner Chose Charleston: I was born in Charleston and have visited the city every year of my life. My mothers family was from Charleston and many of the family live there now. Because it is so beautiful, and part of my mother's heritage, my sister and I are motivated to keep this property in the family.
