  My husband and I stayed in this fabulous home in March of this year, 2013. Karen, the owner, was incredibly helpful from the outset as was the management company run by Paul and Debra. I had read the previous reviews on this home and it clinched it for us - so imagine my great surprise at reading the last review, making claims of a bad owner and home before posting my own. As we say in the UK, you can't please all of the people all of the time and some will never be satisfied. We found no evidence of any damage whatsoever. I defy anybody to find bad issues with this home - they simply do not exist. The home is quality through and through from very comfortable beds (very important to me as I have back issues) to beautiful furniture. The kitchen is amazing and I enjoyed cooking our meals in there! We were a group of adults, but even so the bedroom murals, aimed at children, left us all grinning and making jokes about the Disney characters. The home is classy, clean and so comfortable with quality towels and bedding. It's huge which enabled us to have privacy before meeting around the pool and spa - we had some fun in that pool and spa! The location was great, peaceful and yet so close to supermarkets and restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend this home, the photographs actually do not show just how excellent it is and this is one bunch of friends that will be returning again next year. Karen, thank you for all the time you gave me, we definitely appreciate your allowing us to stay in your lovely home. Look forward to talking to you again for our holiday home next year.

  Unfortunately, the home looks far better in pictures. There were many, many aspects that lacked attention(mold on toilet seats, stains on comforter, unstable therefore unsafe bed frame, broken blinds, unusable lamps, remotes, clocks and x-box, etc., etc.) and sadly, the London-based owner was extremely defensive and lacking empathy when all the issues were brought to her attention. We were so very excited upon our arrival only to slowly have our excitement diminished. Don't stay here unless you plan on spending 24-7 in the pool- the only highlight.

  Owner response: 'In the vacation rental business I do occasionally have times when trying to appease a renter is almost impossible....sadly this was one of those occasions, when the reviewer was a guest 4 months ago, and I don't want to give credence to these unfounded remarks by trying to defend such comments. Thankfully, and as can be seen by my other reviews, on such occasions I prefer my previous guest reviews to speak for my home. I keep my home immaculate and regularly update fixtures and fittings for guests, and my own, use. Any issues are dealt with immediately by my management company.   Dear Karen, January 4th - 11th 2013 I am writing to thankyou for the use of your home for our stay in Florida. Our family had a fantastic time at Disney and enjoyed your house during the evenings and our one "down day" from the park. Your directions to the house were very easy and in a location that was close to many stores for conveinience. My parents accompanied us on our trip so there were seven of us in our party and the house had more than enough room and things to do for everyone. The children loved the pool and hot tub. The games room was a big hit, we now know our family has a love for ping pong. The house is only a 15-20 minute drive to the park which is perfect it aloud us to get away from the "hustle & bustle" of it all. Our middle son has autism and we found it very beneficial to get away from the parks fast pace yet it was nice to not have to drive far to do that. The kitchen was fully stocked, lots of towels, and the house was extremely clean and very welcoming. We had to call maintenance regarding the pool heat, they answered the phone on the second ring and were very prompt to coming over to look at the pool. Turns out the thermostat needed replacing which could happen to anyone any time. It was fixed immediately and the pool and hot tub were at regular heat by the next day. Not to say it stopped our kids they were all in the pool when we arrived anyways. We can't thank the cleaning and maintenance staff enough for their time, they helped us with directions and stopped by and dropped off two new PS3 games for the boys to use during our stay. Our stay was above and beyond our expectations and we would highly recommend your house to others to stay at. When we are back in Florida we will be staying at your house again, our family speaks of our stay often and wish we were back there. Sincerly, Jenn Beeton,Ontario Canada

It was important to me that the home is very large to accommodate more than one family, if necessary, who can have their own space when they wish or a party around the pool splashing around with everybody. I insist that what you see in the photo’s is a true reflection of the home – the cleanliness, décor, fixtures and fittings are so important to ensure my valued guests enjoy the home and pool area as best they can. I appreciate your understanding regarding the thermostat and as you saw I insist that any issues are immediately dealt with. I find the games room is great fun for children and adults alike - so much to entertain, especially the ping pong! I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and are already missing the home and Orlando...hopefully it won't be too long before we can welcome you and your family back to enjoy fun in the sun again.

  We had such a wonderful week in this beautiful home. It was all we hoped for and more. Six of us rented it for the week of the Disney marathon. There was more room than we needed and could have easily accommodated 4 to 6 more people. We used the pool and the hot tub every day. The game room provided hours of entertainment. The home is gorgeously decorated and has all the comforts of home. Plus we rented the house for what it would have cost for one couple to rent one room on a Disney property. It wasn't in the hustle and bustle of Orlando but a close and convenient drive away. The management company was quick to respond to all of our inquiries.

I am very proud of my home and so many comment on the size of the home, how it offers the ability to either spend time as a group or go somewhere else for privacy. The pool and spa are always a big draw - so many enjoy the warmth of the spa or splashing around in the pool. As you discovered renting a large home is more often cheaper than staying in a hotel. You have a lot more privacy, your own pool and spa area, separate bedrooms, full kitchen.....it all adds up to far more for your hard earned dollars in a quality vacation home.   I can honestly say that my family n I truly enjoyed staying at your property at Calabay Park. This was my first time vacationing at a house because I was so afraid of scams and I live 18hrs away in N.J. To whom Ever is looking to rent this property by all means do so! Everything you need is there n my kids loved the pool so much that they wanted to leave Universal Studios n get in the pool cuz they were tired of walking lol! All the stores are so close by n Disney seemed only 10m away for me.I'm glad I chose your property we even cleaned n washed all your towels:) Thanks a bunch n I will be back!

  Karen, We had a wonderful time in Florida. The house was perfect for Scott and I, our two children and their spouses, and our 4 grandchildren. The kids loved their rooms! As a certified lifeguard, I am always extremely vigilent with children and swimming pools. Your extra detail for pool safety was appreciated. I highly recommend your vacation home for families.   Thank you for opening your lovely home to my family. We had such an enjoyable family vacation, and enjoyed our stay in your home. We had a group of 11 people in 3 families ranging from 3 years old to over 60. The kids had such fun playing in the pool, and they loved the theme bedrooms. The women loved that the men cooked for us on the grill on several occasions giving us a vacation from the kitchen. Thanks again!

  "Hi Karen, We would like to thank you for another amazing stay in one of your homes. This was our 4th time staying with you while in the Orlando area. The 2nd time in this particular home "Calabay Villa", as well as great stays in 2 of your other homes. Calabay Villa was perfect when we stayed last year and we could not wait to return. When we arrived, we were surprised that you had already changed the themes and decorations in 2 of the rooms. Even though these rooms had already looked great and were in excellent condition, it just shows how much thought, time and care you put into each home. This definitely helps set you apart from other homes we have stayed in or viewed in the past. Ever since our first stay with you, we would not consider looking anywhere else when visiting Orlando. Your extra special touch in all that you do makes us never want to leave and always keeps us wanting to come back again for more. Even on days that we do not visit the theme parks, we are more than content to enjoy a great day in the home. From the pool/lanai, to the games room, to the entire experience that you have provided, your home is truly a vacation in itself! For anyone considering renting a home while on vacation, look no further. Karen is an absolute pleasure to deal with and goes above and beyond to accomodate in every way possible. Her homes are simply amazing and priced more than fairly for all of the additional that she provides. Renting a home can be a tough and concerening choice, but with Karen all of that is removed. She is a true professional with plenty of experience in the business. What you see is what you get, and you actually get even more than that, as you will find when you arrive. My family and I will definitely be planning our 5th stay in one of Karen's wonderful homes on our next trip to Orlando, as soon as we are able to. Hotels are something of the past for us. In most cases, you will pay the same or even less per week in a home, but receive so much more than a hotel room could ever provide. Try it once and you will wonder why you had not done it sooner!
