We are in the center of it all!! This house is truly the best location on the island and allows easy access to the island's activities! We are canal front with a private dock, just next to the tennis courts, across the street from olympic pool and shopping, and best of all - 100 yards from the beach access that generally has sand regardless of the tide! This is an important feature as some of the beach front homes don't have any beach during high tide. Ironically some of the beach front homes have quite a hike to get to the water. We also have 2 golf carts included in the rental!! We now have WiFi!!
Once you visit our home you will want to return! This home has generations of love and laughter. It has an open floor plan so you can talk to the chef while sitting on the back porch overlooking the marsh! Downstairs you can follow a family tradition and have an oyster roast in the fire pit!
ADVENTURE/ACTIVITIES: If you feel the need to venture further, you can take one of the four seater golf carts INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL and go to two different wonderful golf courses, a marina, five different restaurants, several pools, and a fitness center!
You can also explore the island on the quiet roads and extensive bike trails. There is a lot of wild life to be seen including alligators, pelicans, osprey, dolphins, crabs, and a lot of deer! There are also many great shells to be found on the beach. It is like your own little mini zoo!
If you wish to get intimately involved with wildlife, you can bring home dinner by going crabbing and fishing off our dock. You can also bring your boat and launch it at the marina or another close public launch.
Fripp also offers Camp Fripp, a children's recreation center where the kids can explore the island while mom and dad golf, play tennis, or just sit by the pool. There are organized activities for the older kids as well.
ISLAND FACTS: Fripp Island is a pristine 3000 acre private, gated island 19 miles outside of Beaufort, South Carolina. The island has three and a half miles of beautiful beaches. Several movies have been filmed on the island including Forrest Gump, Jungle Book, and The Prince of Tides. The authors Pat Conroy and Cassandra King choose to call the island home.
HOUSE INFO: This four bedroom, two bathroom home has an outdoor covered porch and an enclosed sunroom. There is a king in one room upstairs and a queen in the other room. Downstairs, one room has a double and a twin and the other has a queen. The pull out queen is in the sunroom which has a door to shut it off from the rest of the house. ALL OF THE ROOMS NOW HAVE A TV!!! There is a wonderful view of the canal with a private dock. Downstairs there is a screen porch with an enclosed charcoal grill, a ping pong table, and of course a washer and dryer. The kitchen has all of the essentials and then some. The downstairs bathroom has been remodeled and updated. You will surely want to enjoy it!
The house was originally intended to be a fishing camp. The downstairs was going to be for all my Grandpa's rowdy friends. The upstairs was supposed to be for the more refined guests! That being said - YOU HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE TO GO FROM THE UPSTAIRS ROOMS TO THE DOWNSTAIRS ROOMS. Some people find this charming. Some find it bewildering. I like to escape downstairs!

This house was built by my grandprents in the 1960's. It has been a family haven ever since. My parents own it now. We have family vacations there once a year where we boat, swim, crab, bike, golf cart and get into all sorts of trouble!! I rent the house for them and remember visiting my Grandmother there when I was a kid. She made the craziest food and we had to eat it without complaining! I still can't eat cold soup!! We have so many family memories there, it is a vital part of our lives. We love it when people rent the house and develop some of their own memories!

What a great house. Four big bedrooms..enough room for two famlies!! A beautiful new bathroom. We loved the marsh view and the short walk/golfcart ride to the beach. This property is close to all of the Fripp action! Special memories for our family!!!!

I vacationed here with girlfriends and a 10 month old baby. the layout of the house was PERFECT! between the downstairs bedrooms, the sunroom, the deck, and the bedrooms upstairs (that could be closed off by a door-- which was perfect for baby having a nap). It feels like being at your families beach house! it is nice with all the ammenities you will need but you feel comfortable and not afraid to RELAX and treat it like your own home. the downstairs, screened in porch with fireplce was definitely my favorite spot in the house. perfect for oyster roasting- which is exactly what we did. the upstair porch also got some GREAT quality time, with great views of the canal. I highly recommend this property- we had a perfect time!

This was a home away from home. Very comfortable, with easy beach access. Golf carts made it convenient to ride around the island, go to the park and pool, and get icecream. The table was large enough for our big family. The sunporch was nice and cool, and made it extra spacious for lounging and sleeping. The porch was a hit for the adults at night, so we wouldn't disturb sleeping children inside. The dock was great for fishing. The screened in porch downstairs was nice to get in from the heat and play some ping-pong. I enjoyed my stay and plan on returning!

I HAVE BEEN STAYING AT THIS BEACH HOUSE FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS. IT IS THE PERFECT LOCATION - JUST STEPS FROM THE BEACH AND STEPS FROM THE CANAL FOR FISHING AND CRABING! HOUSE IS VERY SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE. CAN'T WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!

We love this house. Perfect vacation home and we had tons of fun fishing, playing ping-pong, and exploring the island. It is in a perfect spot-close to the beach, and centrally located.

This home has it all! Especially location, location, location! It is on the canal- perfect for fishing, crabbing & evening cocktails’! AND right across the street from the beach! Just fyi- because of how the beach has formed, even the "beach front" houses might not have access to beach- can see it, can't get there. From this home, you on the beach with your toes wet in 3 mins- walking! Open floor plan allows for family time. The downstairs screened-in porch is killer for ping-pong matches and oyster roasts on the open fire-pit. Loved all the board games and great variety of DVD's and videos! We took the golf carts and bikes ALL over the island! All the beach supplies you would need/want! I can not say enough how much we loved this place- anyone would be honored to stay here!

If you are looking for a relaxing home in a great location- this is the house. Our family has been coming to Fripp Island for many years and we LOVE this house. It is our favorite home and we always try to rent it first. The house is so big there is room for several families with enough space for everyone to spread out. The location is by far the best on the island. You can sit at the kitchen table and watch the tide come in and out of the canal while you drink your coffee. My kids love fishing off the dock. Last year we had a blue heron try to steal the fish the kids were catching. There is plenty for kids to do at this house, from pulling up a crab net in the canal to playing a game of ping pong. If you are ready for the beach it is just a short walk and your there. I love that the kitchen is always well stocked with lots of pots and pans and all the plates and utensils you will ever need to cook up all the crabs that you will catch at the point. If you are looking for a fun beach without all the hassels- Fripp Island is the best around and this is a great house to relax and enjoy all that the beach has to offer.
