  There was 8 adults, 4 teens and a 6 week old baby for this wonderful family vacation. If fit our needs extremely well. We all agreed that we would stay at this home and location in a "heartbeat". We are very glad we chose this rental because after taking a boat ride, we soon found out that this location has the fewest steps down to the lake...something that most of the location descriptions do not tell you. Getting the deposit back in a timely manner is a plus also.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

  My family and I truly enjoyed our stay in your home. It was very clean and everything was at or above my standards. I have stayed numerous times at Deerfield and this home was THE BEST so far! It's location to the lake is wonderful and the walk to the dock, while steep, is better than some homes that have TONS of steps. Thank you and see you next season!! :)

  Beware that you may not get your security deposit back. After first talking with her (owner) to get our deposit refunded, she said that we had not put the trash out for pickup on the last day and the racoons had strewn it over the lawn, which caused them to have to pay cleaner to pick it up. Now, I know my parents had put the trash out, so when I called the owner to ask who the trash pickup company was -- she said "what do they have to do with it"? I responded that I will call them and confirm they indeed picked up the trash. She then changed the story and said that we had left "soiled diapers" in the trash which caused maggots to form, which caused extra cleaning. Now, I know my mom cleaned that place spic and span before she left (better than when we got it). And I know that maggots could not have formed in 2 days -- as I personally witnessed the trash getting picked up a few days before we left -- my mom called to have it picked up so we wouldn't have too much to pick up on the last day. After explaining this to the seller, she agreed to "pay half" back to us (of the security deposit). Needless to say, we never received ANY of it back! Please beware. The place was also very dirty when we arrived and the wireless didn't work right away. The slope to the lake is extremely steep and misleading in the picture.

Due to your negligence with putting your babies and small childrens soiled diapers in the trash bins without being in bags and permanent juice stains on my pottery barn couches it resulted in loss of the remainder of your deposit.Our trash pick up is a private individual he will not touch loose trash. It clearly states in our lease any loose trash in the bins will result in the loss of your deposit. Your anger is clearly noted in your rambling response. My home is not dirty, you have to dail the right # for the wireless to work, and we have a cart you may rent for mature and small children for our path.

  We thought the Deerfield Resort rental home was great for us. It has a great location and cove for swimming. The house was arranged with the 5 bedrooms perfectly for our family. The kitchen was well supplied with utensil for cooking. The house was clean and well-maintained and exactly as it was advertised. We did need to call the owner for a couple of reasons, and got a return call in an apporpiate time. We will stay there again.

  We stayed at this home the week of July 4 holiday and found the home to be in average shape with the living room carpet in need of cleaning, the lower level smelling a bit musty which got worse after 3 nights of hard rain and a hole under one of the french doors leading to the deck. The air conditioning was excellent and needed as it was 102 deg, bedrooms except the 2 in the lower lever were very nice but the biggest issue was the hill to the dock. This hill is very difficult to climb unless you are young and in good shape. We managed to make sure we only went to the boat at 10:00AM and returned back to the home (up the hill) after 5:00 so we wouldn't have to climb the hill more than once per day including carrying coolers, etc. The boat dock and cove to swim in was excellent. Owners are pleasant and helpful as we got our security deposite back within 2 weeks.

  Owner response: We are glad you enjoyed the area. It is very nice and private in our cove, very safe for smaller children. I am sorry the rain dampened your families vacation. During the rainy times we have a dehumidifier in the laundry room that I like running all summer. It removes all the dampness in the lower level.I could not find a small hole under the door. I wish you would have called me so I could have remedied your conerns during your visit. We have a golf cart for our path for assisting you in carrying your things to your boats. We have replaced the carpeting in the lower level and are very pleased with how it looks. We hope you have better weather next trip out..

  We loved this beautiful home in a lovely wooded lake setting. Everything was supplied that you might need, but bring some hangers. We enjoyed the pool and swimming in the peaceful cove. If you have back or knee issues, all the homes at Norris Lake have either steep walkways or many steps to the water, so you might want to look elsewhere. My deposit was returned within days of returning home, and owners were very friendly and helpful. Thanks.

  Our family of 12 just returned from our Norris Lake vacation and we stayed at this property and it was great. We had a problem with the wifi but the owner corrected it within a reasonable time. We ran out of gas on the grill and the owner corrected that in reasonable time also. Our only disappointment was the silverware knives were not very efficient for cutting meats etc. I suggest that if you stay here, bring your own steak knives....the spoons and forks were good. The walk to the beautiful cove was a little steep but that is not uncommon for Norris Lake. The house has a beautiful deck facing the cove which makes for a great morning and evening relaxation. All in all, we would rent this house again in the future.
