Superb Apartment in Saint-Germain So Close to it All
- Minimum stay:3 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This is a very nice apartment with two good-size bedrooms, one with its own shower and basin but there is also a separate bathroom with its own basin, shower and a W.C. There is also another separate W.C on a private pathway. There is a large sitting room with one of the sofas that is a sofabed. Off the sitting room, is a big open kitchen fully equipped. It is well furnished with some antiques. Very unusual for Paris, it has a lovely private access, with a beautiful mural painting (see photos), that is where the second WC is located. It is not overlooking the street so there is no noise at night.
This apartement in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Pres is so close to museums, the river Seine, good restaurants and shops. Could you be anywhere else?
It is in a 17th century building.
Free internet, free telephone calls to the US and Europe but charged to Australia and the rest of the world!!
Nearest metros are: Sèvres-Babylone or Saint-Germain des prés.
The apartement is on the first floor, continental standard, 2nd by US. There is no elevator.
Merci!

My friend and I traveled to Paris to celebrate 'milestone' birthdays and this apartment was perfect for us. Great location with metro, restaurants and groceries close by. With the absurd early arrival of our flight, Ferida arranged an early check-in, coming by shortly thereafter to explain how to use all appliances and set up phones for wi-fi connection. She was so quick to respond to our every question. The transport service she recommended was excellent. The toll free calls to home were an added bonus. The detailed notebook was of immense help, with local places clearly identified and the bus routes marked and mapped. I only wish we could have stayed longer. When I return to Paris I will book my trip around when this apartment is available! Thank you Ferida and I hope to visit again soon!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Susan for this very kind review. It was a real pleasure meeting you and Joy and so glad that you enjoyed your stay. I do hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again. In the meantime, I wish you all the very best;)) Ferida

Bravo Ferida! Once again a wonderul stay! Can;t say enough how at home we feel in your apartment and are so happy to have gotten to stay with you again. Thank you for responding so quickly to the panic call about the shower! I would have hated to flood the area below us. Also can't wait to sit on the new couch! Still think you Parisians must be so clever to get big pieces of furniture up the the curvy stairs! Hope to be back in November!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Nancy for writing a very nice review. I Can't wait to have you, Fred and your family stay again in the apartement as I appreciate you all very much!!! I'll explain verbally about the new sofabed when you next come over;))) Big hugs to all,

This was our second stay at this wonderful apartment and would definitely return. The first time we were with another couple. This time we were with our son, daughter-in-law and 2 1/2 year old grandson. The apartment worked well both times. The apartment is well kept, is in a great location, and is very comfortable as it has everything you need. Beds were comfortable and the location is quiet. Ferida is very conscientious and most helpful when needed, as well as being an interesting and nice person. Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore are nearby and great for people watching which we visited on our first trip to the apartment. However, the weather did not allow this on this visit. Metro stops are nearby and it is easy to walk there.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Louise for writing a positive review. I did enjoy seeing you and your family again and hope that it will not be the last time! Best wishes to all of you, take good care and thanks again Louise!

We (2 Couples) have just returned from our second stay at Ferida's apartment. Once again it was perfectly suited to our needs. Its proximity to shopping, - Raspail Market,Bon Marche,Mono Prix, Poilane etc and restaurants on R des Canettes and R de Bucci areas and St Germain and the Christmas Market made it great for foodies. The central location is ideal for exploring the city and sightseeing. The apartment is well equipped( excellent WiFi and phone ) quiet and comfortable. A nice welcome from Ferida making sure our tablets hooked up to the internet and we understood the appliances. The champagne was a nice touch. We hope to be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you Barbara for your very kind review. I was very glad to welcome you all again and glad that you had a very pleasant stay. Take good care and see you again! Best wishes to you all, Ferida

this apartment is charming, your immediate impression is that you are in a cozy, comfortable home. It is spotless, a comfortable size and well equipped with all amenities. Ferida is equally charming and very helpful, she came to our rescue when trying to deal with airlines over lost luggage. The apartment is centrally located, good walking distance to major streets and shopping. There are several great restaurants nearby and of course a boulangerie for those morning croissants.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Many thanks Ellen for your kind and positive review. I very much enjoyed meeting the four of you and only hope that the rest of your journey in the South of France was pleasant. Very kind wishes to you all and hopefully see you again one day! Ferida

Ferida greeted us at the apartment, with a bottle of wine, to show us how to use the appliances, review her written instructions for the TV, wireless Internet (quite good speed) and the telephone. She also was a fountain of information regarding things to do and shopping for clothes where the prices are reasonable. Also, many guests have left a number of travel guides and 2 notebooks full of Paris information, all very useful. The size of the open kitchen and living area provided ample space for 4 ladies, with one of them making use of the pull out sofa bed. The nice size bedrooms had very good storage space. The WC just a few steps outside the front door is tiny, but served our needs. The washer, dryer and dishwasher control panels are marked to make it simple to know which buttons to push. Plenty of dishwasher soap and washing machine detergent was provided. Terrific location. Once outside the front door of the building, turn right or left for a couple of blocks to get to either Boulevard St. Germain or to the equally bustling street, rue de Sevres. Several metro stations are near by, making it easy to get anywhere in Paris with minimal effort. We found it useful to follow the advice in previous reviews about the nearby frozen food store, Picard. The prepared meals seemed to contain healthier ingredients than run of the mill frozen meals, and there were a number of individual frozen vegetable, poultry, fish and dessert options. Everything we tried was very good, with astounding prices. The boulangerie across the street from Picard is another recommendation from others that we fully support. Upon leaving, we notified Ferida that the teflon pans were scratched; therefore, we didn't use them. She wasn't aware of their condition and said she would replace them. We know she immediately did so because later that day she sent a photo of the new pans sitting on the counter top. The van service Ferida recommended for transporting more than 3 people to/from the airport was excellent. We used the service to get to the airport. The driver showed up a few minutes ahead of time and helped us carry luggage from the apartment to the van, which was down only one flight but nevertheless his willingness to help was much appreciated. We agree with other reviewers about the low light and thin walls, but these would not affect our positive recommendation of this apartment for anyone wanting to stay in the St. Germain district.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Many thanks for your positive review. I was very glad to meet four wonderful women. Kind regards to all,

Four of us (two "senior" couples) just spent two weeks at this fantastic location. Our decision was based mainly on the reviews and while I have little new to add I thought it would be useful to add some recent observations. This is an incredibly well located apartment. Within blocks are an ATM, a Monoprix supermarket, Picard frozen delicacies, a nice boulangerie and all the excitement of the St Germain des Pres and St Sulpice areas. We walked to the Louvre, Orsay, Notre Dame, Rodin, BonMarche (a must see!), Luxembourg Park, and three metro lines are at two nearby stops. Once you find the bus stops, going by bus is even easier than metro. The apartment is in an old building, one narrow flight up from the street and has no view - its windows open onto air shafts but there was good ventilation. The pictures accurately reflected the amenities except the landing was not nearly as attractive as we had presumed. There are two very comfortable bedrooms, a fully equiped kitchen and a very nice bathroom with WC. One bedroom has a separate shower and small sink but we all used the toilet in the apartment as the light in the tiny WC on the landing was burned out and the rooom was dirty -used I believe also by the shop below. There was more than enough hot water and the washer and dryer were very convenient but be sure to have Ferida explain their use and that of the TV if you plan to use it. WiFi connection was great and we used our IPad to check references to restaurants and to get better seat selection on our return flight(Air France - 30 hours before departure) The airport pickup service recommended by Ferida worked well and the driver even lugged our suitcases up and down the narrow staircase. I would recommend at most one stop at the areas prime establishments-Flore, Deux Magots, Lipp, as they are crowded with tourists and very expensive. Many great restaurants close by (e.g. Maison du Jardin, Epi Dupin, Comptoir du Relais(long line, try about 2p.m.) and many are not as expensive as we had been led to believe. If necessary save on wine by buying it at Monoprix and having it before or after dinner out.The near by restaurants on RueSt Benoit were disapointing. This apartment is expensive but well worth it! Ferida accepts PayPal so you may want to have euros for your payment on arrival. This is our 6th experience with VRBO, all very satisfying.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Frederic for this long review. I'm only sorry to hear that the external toilets were dirty and no bulb. When I did the last check in, the toilets had been cleaned and the bulb replaced. They belong to my apartement and noone else can use them. Of course, the apartement is not overlooking the streets which it seems you may have preferred but on the other hand, you're not disturbed by the traffic noise which to most guests is a good point;))

This is a full sized two bedroom flat with all the essentials. Great location. Two couples could easily share this. Realize you are renting an apartment and not a 4* hotel room. We actually fit here with our two children(7&10) and two dogs for 5 days. only downside is the apartment doesn't get much light, and no views, but really all you need is enough space in the morning and at night to get around, and it certainly has that. Ferida is delightful, and I would recommend this rental to anyone(unless you are wanting great romance in the city of lights).Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Mark and Tanya for taking the time to write a review. Enjoy your stay in France. Best wishes, Ferida

Located in the heart of the Saint-Germain des Pres area and close to famous food stores, bakeries, and open markets, this airy and large apartment provided a convenient base for our family with all of the comforts of home during our week-long holiday in Paris. Although there is not a view from the windows, the setting is very quiet and peaceful. The bedrooms are large with plenty of storage space for clothing and suitcases. The kitchen is the best equipped of any apartment that we have ever rented in Europe. It even has a dishwasher, washing machine, and a clothes dryer (which is very unusual!). We were able to use the telephone to call the USA. The television offers a wide selection of stations. Ferida is warm and welcoming. She met us at the apartment to give us a tour and explain what we needed to know about the apartment. In addition, she has prepared a notebook filled with helpful information about the apartment and the area - she has even included maps and detailed descriptions. She also has included the telephone number of a taxi company with staff and drivers that speak English, which was very helpful! Ferida was available to us by email during our visit and quickly responded to questions that we had. In addition, she is very accommodating and flexible. We would recommend this apartment without hesitation and hope we will have the opportunity to stay here again sometime in the future. Thank you, Ferida!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
