  • Chez SoColisa is AMAZING!

"There are so many things that are GREAT about this place, I hardly know where to start. It was everything that was promised and then some. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Linda who is the owner's agent/concierge. She had stocked the condo in advance of our arrival with all of the items we had asked for. She patiently and thoroughly explained everything we'd need to know about the condo, the building amenities, and the area. (She also can schedule excursions, tours, activities, etc.) The owner had left us a kind welcoming gift and a nice note as well. The pictures don't fully capture the beauty of the condo, The Cliff property, and the numerous amenities available. Unless you live in a million dollar condo overlooking the Caribbean Sea, you will be awestruck. The staff at The Cliff was always helpful and we were always greeted with a genuine smile by the front desk personnel. The housekeeper, Marcia, was a lovely person and by the end of our stay we felt a real attachment to her. The vehicle that was included in the rental was in excellent condition and use of a free cell phone was a bonus. The condo has two phone lines, one local and one free international. The furnishings were modern, the beds comfortable, and the complimentary coffee machine was great. Fred, the owner, was a great person to work with and was always available if we had a question or a concern from the time we made our deposit until after we had returned home. The location of the condo is probably one of the best on the Dutch side. It is a quick drive to Marigot for morning croissants or a gourmet lunch, about half an hour to Philipsburg for shopping, five minutes to Maho Beach or a five minute walk to Mullet Bay beach. Porto Cupecoy with its lovely restaurants and grocery is a five minute drive as is Blue Mall. The Cliff has its own private beach as well. Its size varies with the currents but the cliffs are beautiful and there is a large cave in the cliff if shade is more to your liking. All-in-all I feel very fortunate to have been able to experience this place in the way that we did. When we return to St. Maarten, we will definitely be staying at Chez SoColisa."

  • The perfect place

"We have been to St Martin several times, and stayed at different locations each time. This was by far the best place. As soon as we opened the door to this villa we fell in love. The view is spectacular - and the covered deck runs the full length of the unit. Never needed the A/C, lots of fans and ocean breezes, and it was lovely to go to sleep with the sounds of the waves and the tree frogs. Coral Shores is a great little complex. Beautifully landscaped - flowers everywhere, and the pool is gorgeous - and not at all crowded. Plenty of lounges, with sun or shade. Well stocked villa, with everything you need - blender for those tropical drinks, gas grill, even binoculars for observing the boats going by. Very nice housekeeping staff who meet you and explain everything you need to know, and they keep the unit very clean. Already thinking about when we can return."

  • Best Caribbean trip ever!

"We were 2 nurses and longtime friends looking to get away for a week of relaxation. St Martin was a fantastic choice and this condo right on the beach was sheer perfection. The owners, Jean Pierre and Martina were the most hospitable of hosts! They were always quick to respond to any of our pre-vacation questions. They met us upon arrival at the fantastic local bakery/patisserie which is just across the street - which we visited almost daily for coffee and pastries. They provided us with a thorough orientation to the condo and gave us helpful maps and tips on where to eat and shop and local customs. They even made our dinner reservations at their favorite French restaurants. Their condo was extremely clean and we honestly needed for nothing. The location of this house sits in one of 4 coves (we felt ours was the best as the shore and swimming was a little less rocky). Snorkeling right off the beach was wonderful - saw a variety of colorful fish and a stingray! There's a pool in each cove that was never crowded, very clean and had great visored chairs for lounging. The weather every day (May 1-8) was low 80's with just enough and not too much breeze and the sea water temp was 81-82. We spent time every morning and evening on our deck looking out at the beach, laughing, drinking, talking, reading, listening to music and enjoying the view of gorgeous greenish blue water, mountains, sailboats, yachts and even had a full moon each night. The area was very quiet and our neighbors who were owners, were incredibly friendly and helpful in getting to know the area. This is a gated community with security regularly patrolling the area so as 2 women traveling alone, we always felt safe and at home. If you're considering this condo and this sounds like the kind of week you want, don't hesitate!!! We will be going back, not just to St Martin, but to this particular condo:-)!! Many thanks Jean Peirre and Martina for making our stay a beautiful one!"

  • Definitly recommended!

"Me and my spouse (early 30's) stayed at Martine's waterfront view Orient Bay Beach condo mid-April 2015. The condo was exactly has showed on the pictures, well furnished with all necessary amenities (modern appliances) to eat in and be comfortable. No disappointment there! We enjoyed our stay and the view is incredible. Martine and her husband greeted us at our arrival and explained everything we needed to know. Mont Vernon is on a hill but not a big challenge to get to the unit as some other viewers might have written. The condo location is close to grocery stores and everything that you might need. We do recommend renting a car to explore the island. The view on the pool and Orient beach which is very close walking distance is fantastic. The beach closer to the condo is quiet (presence of seaweet) and if you walk a little towards the right side of the beach you get to nicer beach sections, other hotels, beach bars, restaurants and activities...basically more action if that is what you are looking for. The pool is quiet and clean. Only negative is the road to get to Mont Vernon which is quite horrible (wholes everywhere which slows you down) but they are suppose to fix that are redo the pavement. Do not get caught by "Time Share" representatives who will try to make you think you won a contest and drag you to the hotel to redeem the prize."

St Maarten Travel Tips

St. Maarten Resorts Present a Personal Holiday

Do you want a personal stay, where it feels like the owners have set everything up just for you? If you want a kitchen for home-cooked meals, a centrally located home, and the sunrise outside your bedroom window then St. Maarten lodging is precisely what you need. Act now as every year, more and more people find the little gem that holds St. Maarten resorts. You will have your pick of St. Maarten rentals along the coastline on Antilles.

The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging

Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.

St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio

A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.

Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts

St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
