  • Repeat visitor and still loved it

"This was our second time staying at this house. We were in New Orleans for my son's wedding. We are a family of 11(and a 10 month old baby) and this house had plenty of room for all of us. We rented the garden apartment too. Michelle once again rolled out the red carpet and made us feel so very welcome. She met us at the house and gave us the tour. The kitchen was stocked with all sorts of good things. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms are stocked with plenty of towels, soaps, lotions, shampoos. The house is decorated so beautifully, filled with antiques, cozy furniture, really interesting artwork, an eclectic décor. The property was very clean. While we were there, I met the gardener, the pool cleaner, and the house cleaner - all had come to keep the garden and pool clean and watered. Michelle takes great care keeping the place in wonderful condition. So the house is gorgeous, but wait till you see the gardens and pool! It was so very hot and humid the weekend we were there and the pool got a lot of use. The gardens surrounding the pool are lush and well established. It really is breathtaking. There's plenty of seating by the pool too, to enjoy hors d'ouvres and wine before dinner. As I stated earlier, this was a return visit to the house. We didn't even look at other rentals because our first visit suited our needs perfectly. And hopefully we'll have another reason to go back to New Orleans with the entire family and we will rent this place again. To briefly mention, great restaurants in the neighborhood, all very short walks. La Madeleine for breakfast and coffee is a block away. A bike path along the river for jogging or walking is also a block away. We had a large number of people to meet for dinner (by large, about 30 people) and we didn't want to spend 1000's of dollars so we all met at Cooter Browns, also a block away. It's kind of a dive bar but it was cheap. They had long tables for us with no reservations, and the 20 somethings felt right at home there. Michelle is very conscienscience. She takes great pride in keeping the house in tip-top shape. Her efforts make this the best place to stay for larger groups/families. Stay here and you won't be disappointed. You'll be amazed that you're staying at such a gorgeous, comfortable home. One last tip. Book early. This house is in high demand on big weekends."

  • Charming Suite in an Ideal Location!

"We just returned from a 6-night stay at The Dryades Suite and would not hesitate to rent this stylish and comfortable suite again. My husband, my son (20 years old), and I loved living in this residential, uptown, location during our New Orleans vacation. We felt like residents ourselves, which is why we prefer to choose a VRBO rental when we travel. The design of the suite is set up so that there can be two, separate, sleeping and living areas; wooden, antique, sliding doors are installed for this purpose. This feature was key to being able to relax during our "down time". All furnishings were obviously chosen with care, and fit our needs very well. We visited a nearby Walgreens to pick up bottled water, drinks, and a few breakfast items, but that's all we needed. We appreciated the easy, on-street parking in front of the house. We chose to rent a car because we wanted to be able to make some side trips, if we had the time. The streetcar is a quick walk from the suite, and it is also a great option for touring. The Dryades Suite was exactly as advertised. We have only positive things to report about our communications with the owners and managers of this property. As an added bonus to our trip, we were treated to a street-wide, New Year's Eve celebration, complete with champagne, fireworks, and a party at the owner's house next door! What FUN! We couldn't have asked for a better display of New Orleans hospitality."

  • Beautiful Clean House with Great Location

"I just returned from the second weekend of Jazz Fest, and had a wonderful stay with a group of six people. We loved the house, which is located just a block from the Maple Leaf, is in great shape, and has a nice porch out front for enjoying a cold one before hitting the town. There are ample coffee shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance, including Carrollton Station and Snake and Jake's. And the Rock and Bowl is only a mile away. The Quarter is only a few miles away, but by staying in the Uptown area, you wake up to clean streets and shady sidewalks. I would happily stay again or recommend it to friends!"

  • Wedding Weekend!

"Our family of 16 rented so we could all be together when attending our nephew/cousin's wedding. It was absolutely perfect! We had room for lots of fun and visiting. Cynthia was great to work with and has special touches that we really appreciated."
