"I, along with three of my friends, spent a wonderful week at Lobster Cove. The house was just as described. Check-in and all contact with the Fosters was easy and efficient. The house was very clean, comfortably furnished, quiet and close to downtown. The walk into town is about a mile and easy for those accustomed to walking a bit--there's a park on the way. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The house is very convenient to grocery and restaurants. The deck, the swing and the adirondack chairs near the water are comfortable and provide a great place to relax and read! We had coffee most mornings on the deck!"

"We didn't even need to go into town; just sitting on the deck enjoying the gorgeous view was so relaxing. Watching the lobsterman at work was fun to see through the house's binoculars. We did adventure in to rent kayaks and go hiking, and we were pleased that the restaurants in Rockland were plentiful and delicious.
The kids loved making puzzles, playing the games in the house and exploring on the private beach, a rare opportunity on Maine. The Internet was strong, and we were able to stream movies at night.
One really unique feature was walking to the Olson House, the scene of Andrew Wyeth's famous painting, Christina's World. On a rainy day, we visited The Farnsworth Museum in Rockland to learn more about the Wyeth's and other Maine artists.
I would highly recommend this lovely place for extended families to enjoy. The private apartment over the garage is a huge plus for large families.
We will come back!"

"What can we say! This place was amazing! 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, makes for getting ready to go out so easy! Fully equipped kitchen and grill on the deck make preparing food for meals easy. Eating at the dining table on the porch was beautiful and the views never got old. This house is a nice base for taking day trips in any direction or just relaxing for the day on the deck or porch. Couple exits south on RT 1 at Cooks corner you have a Shaws and Walmart for all your shopping needs. Everyone in my group enjoyed their stay and was very sad to go. I think even our baby...due in a few weeks did too lol. Don't pass this place up. Majestic views everyday that don't get old. Check out the little island in the harbor with the telescope or binoculars...you might see some puffins. And keep an eye out in the water between the fort for seals frolicking in the water. We hope to return next year!"

"Everything was perfect when we arrived, including replacement of down pillows and comforter to accommodate a severe feather allergy. As frequent guests to Spruce Point inn in the past we know the Booth Bay Harbor area very well and have always said "someday we will stay at Retreat Cottage" but since we could never plan far ahead it was always booked. This year we are moving to the West Coast so this was our last Maine vacation - we never dreamed the cottage would be available but it was.
The cottage is small - perfect for two adults and is so peaceful. We started and ended each day sitting in the chairs out front - coffee in the morning; wine in the evening. The kitchen is small but thanks to our manager, Sue we learned of Eventide and were able to pick up some very nice cheeses, meats and breads for anti pasto We also stopped at the York Farmer's market on the way up and got some meats and veggies. It was easy to whip up a gourmet meal a couple of days - and the others we headed to Muscongus Bay Trading Company in Round Pond which is a long time favorte.
Having a chance for an evening sail on our last night made the entire trip perfect.
Thank you Susan for helping to make this happen and to our host John Druce who elected to keep the Retreat Cottage and maje u available for special memories."
