  • Comfy cottage with beautiful garden!

"The Maine squeeze provided a comfy base for our stay in Maine. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities stated in the listing description. We loved the garden and had a relaxing lunch on the back patio. The walk to town was an easy half mile and the shops & restaurants in town were nice. We loved the Thai restaurant Long Grain and Cappy's clam chowder. The Megunticook market and the French & Brawn marketplace were good stops for our goodies for the week. Loved the Camden Deli and the view from the deck looking over the harbor. The view from Mount Battie is a must see and just a few miles from the cottage. I would recommend this property as it is a great location whether you stay in Camden or hit the road on day trips to places such as Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor, Fort Knox, Lincolnville, and Belfast. The Maine Squeeze cottage provides the perfect Maine experience. Thanks Sara for providing such a wonderful place for your guests."

  • A vacation rental with all the comforts of home!

"We were so impressed with this vacation rental. This was our first visit to Maine and we felt right at home immediately upon arrival. The house was well appointed, spotless and amenities were numerous, from the well-stocked spice drawer, the pantry with every piece of cookware you might need, the pancake recipes on the inside of the cabinet, to the game shelves (there's even a playroom on the lower level with lots of toys,) hand soap, toilet paper and kleenex in every bathroom, along with dish soap, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent and fabric softener. The home is spacious and has wonderful views of the Sheepscot River from the deck and the house. There's even a canoe to take out on the river along with the requisite lifevests. The house has been lovingly taken care of. This was a nice mid-point for all the places we wanted to visit along the coast-it was the perfect place to unwind and relax after our days of sightseeing. Wiscasset is a very picturesque town and Red's Eats was our first stop of the week for Maine Lobster-their Lobster Roll was excellent, but make sure you come very hungry-it is huge! Other notable places to eat and visit: the Sea Salt Cafe in Damariscotta for breakfast, the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport, Jordan Pond House in Acadia National Park(Excellent food, especially the popovers and strawberry jam-reservations are recommended) Pemaquid Point Lighthouse(gorgeous scenery) Ben and Bill's in Bar Harbor for ice cream(they even have lobster ice cream!), the Camden Deli has some yummy blueberry pie. We also went to a clambake on Cabbage Island-it was one of the highlights of our trip and a wonderful way to end the week -you will not leave there hungry! We visited Freeport and shopped at L.L. Bean and checked out Boothbay Harbor. The owner provided some excellent suggestions for places to eat and visit, too-all in all, a memorable vacation!"

  • Sanctuary on the Sea

"Just spent a week on Patti & Steve's lovely, clean family cottage. The cozy living room, comfortable bedrooms & well- equipped kitchen were just as expected. The screened on porch served as the main lounging place to watch the boats and birds in the harbor. The great blue heron, white egret, gulls and cormorants were excellent company. Frequent walks on the Reid State Park beaches provided "tranquility tonic" that continues to pay dividends each time we remember the sights, sounds and smell of the salt air. If this is what it's like to be in the Loony Bin, then please: lock me up!"

  • September in Maine

"My wife and I spent the month of September, 2014 at The Barn House and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The area is quiet (you have to go 20 miles to find a T-Shirt, there are great groceries, restaurants and resources very close by. Lots of short or long day trips in the vicinity...car is a must. The owner Katie is great and so are all the neighbors that we met. Definitely on our "To Do Again" list."
