Wonderful Boothbay Harbor Cottage in Great Location!
"We spent a wonderful 4 weeks in Buttercup cottage! From the very first conversation I had with Karen on the phone, I knew we had made the right choice. The cottage is in a perfect location-easy walk to town for shopping or restaurants, the Best park right across the street, and what an awesome view of the water from the cottage deck! We had most meals out on the deck and so enjoyed watching the lobster fishing boats catching what could be our next meal! Buttercup has all the amenities you could need or want and is very comfortable!. John and Karen, the owners, were so accommodating, kind and helpful-pointing out things to do, places to eat and making sure we had what we needed. We were so satisfied with our stay, we have already made reservations for next summer at Buttercup! Can't wait to return!"

"Just got back from wonderful stay in this East Boothbay gem! Our third stay on King Phillips trail which is an amazing street right on the ocean in east Boothbay - perfect for morning and evening walks to start and end your days! The house was perfect - just what you need, with great views from the master bedroom and from the deck! Felt like you were sleeping right on the ocean with the windows open at night! Well stocked kitchen and very clean. Highly recommend this house!"

"Everything was perfect when we arrived, including replacement of down pillows and comforter to accommodate a severe feather allergy. As frequent guests to Spruce Point inn in the past we know the Booth Bay Harbor area very well and have always said "someday we will stay at Retreat Cottage" but since we could never plan far ahead it was always booked. This year we are moving to the West Coast so this was our last Maine vacation - we never dreamed the cottage would be available but it was.
The cottage is small - perfect for two adults and is so peaceful. We started and ended each day sitting in the chairs out front - coffee in the morning; wine in the evening. The kitchen is small but thanks to our manager, Sue we learned of Eventide and were able to pick up some very nice cheeses, meats and breads for anti pasto We also stopped at the York Farmer's market on the way up and got some meats and veggies. It was easy to whip up a gourmet meal a couple of days - and the others we headed to Muscongus Bay Trading Company in Round Pond which is a long time favorte.
Having a chance for an evening sail on our last night made the entire trip perfect.
Thank you Susan for helping to make this happen and to our host John Druce who elected to keep the Retreat Cottage and maje u available for special memories."
