Relax & make memories on Lake Ann! Central to Traverse City/Sleeping Bear Dunes
*Many upgrades were made to LA Cottage in Spring of 2022 including laminate vinyl flooring, fresh paint, lighting and decor-photos have been updated.
Located about 20 minutes west of Traverse City between Interlochen and Beulah (Crystal Lake). We have been coming here for over 25 years and would like to share our "piece of heaven" with your family. Our lake home is suitable for families with all ages, a fun girls getaway, or 'seasoned' couples. This is a 4 bedroom/2 bath lake home that comfortably sleeps 9 in beds. There also are two sleeper sofas: one in the Great Room upstairs (Queen-sized) and one in the lower level room (Full-sized) on site. Those rooms each have televisions. Our favorite area is the 3 season room where a lot of your time will be spent when not outside. The house is also equipped with a full kitchen, dining area and laundry. The lake home sits on 110' of sandy frontage on our beautiful, peaceful and family-sized 576 acre all sports lake. Lake Ann is a spring fed lake and is one of the cleanest in Northern Michigan! Fish for blue gill, sunfish, bass, pike and brown trout. We offer a fishing boat and 4 kayaks for your use. The L-shaped dock has a sun deck with a sandy swim area and a swim raft which is great for all ages to enjoy! You can relax in one of the two hammocks or on the large two level deck with great views of the lake; watch for the bald eagles to fly by or the loons to do some fishing just past the end of the dock. Near the shore there is a nice level grassy area where you can have fun and play yard games. We also offer a fire pit where you can roast hot dogs and make s'mores while singing your favorite campfire songs or tell stories around the fire. The neighborhood is a great place to walk, jog or ride bikes. The town of Lake Ann is just minutes away where you will find Lake Ann Brewery (live entertainment), Stone Oven Restaurant, Lake Ann Grocery Store ("If we don't have it; you don't need it"), Red Door Coffee Shop, a public boat launch and a park. Lake Ann is a short 20-30 minute drive to Traverse City and the National Cherry Festival, Glen Arbor and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, Crystal Mountain Ski Resort and Spa, Interlochen National School of the Arts and much, much more. Nearby attractions: Moomer's Ice Cream, the Cherry Bowl Drive-in Theater, the Traverse City Pit Spitters (baseball), 25 Wineries, 19 championship golf courses and terrific restaurants for the foodies in the group! This area offers something for everyone in every season. If you have not been able to spend some time in Northern Michigan in the Fall...the colors are incredible! And Winter is definitely a wonderland of snow! The number of tourist are down from the summer months; so it is a great time to try out some of the restaurants, wineries, breweries or golf courses!

Such a lovely home and a great vacation with our family. It’s such a great spot for a family or two with young kids to hang out for a few days. There are board games to play, fire pit for smores, and obviously a beautiful lake. Lynne was a great host and we will definitely look to see if her home is available the next time we come up to northern Michigan.
We had the most wonderful time at this fabulous cottage! Check in is easy, and the owner is very responsive. it is one of the most well equipped rentals we've stayed in. It is spacious and comfortable, we had 6 adults and 2 teenagers here and it never felt crowded. The newly renovated bath is the lower level received raves from everyone. Absolutely love this place!

So happy you enjoyed your stay. We always love having your family! Glad you all approve of the renovated downstairs bathroom! Thanks so much!
Don't hesitate to stay here. Beautiful, well kept home. Great location! Beautiful view of the lake from the 3 season porch. Comfortable beds. All together a wonderful spot for vacation!
There were 7 adults and two children for our stay. The king bed we stayed in was very comfortable! The sandy beach in front was great for the grandkids and the dock was great for our boat! Would stay again but probably sleeps six adults best!
My sisters and I spent 4 days here. It was perfect, clean, well-supplied, and plenty of space. The sun porch was our favorite spot for early morning coffee.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Hope you can come back in the future!
We loved every minute! Beautifully well appointed home with great views on a lovely lake. The house had everything we needed and more. The yard is nice for lawn games, and the kayaks were fun. There also is a lot to do in the area, we’ll be back!
This was our family's third stay in this lovely home & we enjoyed every minute. We viewed the Northern lights across the lake on the first night, explored with the kayaks, listened to the loons & played lawn games. It was an easy trip to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The cottage & beds were comfortable and there is a well supplied kitchen. All that you could ask for!

Thank you so much for your kind words! We are so happy your family enjoyed your vacation!
I grew up vacationing in the Lake Ann area with my family, but stopped going when I was in high school. The memories I have I cherish dearly so having to opportunity to relive those memories while making new ones with my partner, daughter, son, and my be friends family was amazing.
Thank you to Lynne and her family for opening their home. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay there.
in spite of cooler temperatures and a little rain, our family had a great time at the Lake Ann house. The sun room and the decks were fantastic. Wonderful views. The house fit our family well. The kitchen had just about everything you could think of. (Although we couldn't find the mixer to go with the beaters?)
But it all worked out. Look forward to visiting again soon! Thank you... Lynne was fantastic to work with!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We would be happy to have your family back any time!
The missing mixer is a mystery?! Thanks for the heads up. We will have it replaced by the next time you stay! ; )
Thank you again for choosing our Lake Ann cottage!
We had an absolutely amazing time at Lynne’s Lake Ann cottage. Our family has been renting cottages for 15 years and I can definitely say this is the best one yet. The cottage is very comfortably decorated and was sparkling clean when we arrived – which definitely helped with any of our renting during Covid-19 fears. It is also very well stocked with everything you need for a vacation – read through the cottage description to get the details on what is provided as it is a lot. Should any questions arise, Lynne is very responsive & helpful.
One of the key features of the home are the many, many locations where you can relax and enjoy the lake views and breezes. Or you can just spend time enjoying the lake. If you want to get out and explore beyond the cottage, it is perfectly located about 30 minutes from both Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. There are also many hiking trails within just a few miles that are great for exploring.
Given the opportunity, we would definitely return for another great, relaxing vacation.

We are thrilled you had such a great time! We love being able to share our little piece of heaven with others. You are welcome back any time
The property was perfectly suited for our family getaway. We were celebrating a couple of birthdays and our anniversary. The location had easy access to all of the areas we were wanting to visit. Lake Ann is a beautiful lake and the home is close to the state park with hiking and biking trails. The town of Lake Ann has an amazing restaurant and brewery. The property is easy to find, has ample parking and lots of outdoor space. The house was very comfortable and had ample space for everyone. The kitchen was the most well equipped of any rental we have stayed in which made cooking and eating in a joy as well. The views were incredible from inside or out. The hosts were very friendly, flexible, and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
This property was top notch! Multiple lake activities available for guests, cleanliness was superb, location was ideal for an up north feel, lots of kitchen/dinning essentials were available, and the view of the lake was wonderful. Highly recommend for either a peaceful getaway or an lake activity filled vacation!
This is a lovely and well supplied lakefront home. It has all of the amenities ! There are puzzles, books, canoes, float toys, and even a bit of sand ! The decks are wonderful to sit on outside but the real gem is the sunroom shaded by trees. We will definitely come back!
We enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful cabin and the sights are breathtaking.
Small detail, Bedrooms upstairs small and hard to control heat to feel comfortable. Bedding clean and mattresses comfortable. Beautiful lake, and the owner thought about every detail to make your stay pleasant. Great communication with owner. We are definitely coming back.
Thanks Lynne!
Perfect get-away for our family with beautiful surroundings! This was the best stocked place we’ve ever stayed. Fluffy towels, comfy beds, and we made good use of the Sun Room. We used the kayaks every day, and enjoyed the fire pit and hammock. The host was extremely responsive, too. The week went by way too fast. Can’t wait to come back next year!
The cottage had lots of space for all our different group members. Wifi and cable TV worked fine. It is close to a large grocery store in Interlochen. Plenty of parking space for 3 or 4 cars. We did not use the small bunk bed room except to set up a portable baby crib. Kayaks, baby swing, and long dock.... all great!
This house was the perfect place to gather with family and enjoy each other, the beautiful lake and explore the surrounding area. Plenty of space to enjoy being together and also have some alone time. Loved the big sun room, and watching the sunset from the pier or a kayak. Great hiking and mountain biking trails a few blocks from the property! The house wise well stocked and had everything we needed and then some! We loves it and would happily repeat this vacation!
We stayed over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. It turned out to be cold and snowy all weekend, but the property was warm and cozy. It was very clean and everything was well maintained. We felt very comfortable. The location works great for trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City.

About the host
Hosted by Lynne Nyberg
Both of our families live in the East Lansing/Okemos area. Our escapes up north are a little bit of heaven for us all!
Why they chose this property
My brother and I have been vacationing in the Traverse City area for our entire lives. Our two families purchased the cottage from our parents who had owned it for 20+ years. We were not willing to give up the fun times and the precious memories that were created here over the years. We would like our children and their future children to love Northern Michigan as much as we do. We hope that you and your family will too.
What makes this property unique
Lake Ann is an all sports lake without the crazy traffic and noise of some of the larger lakes. Your family will feel safe boating here.
The views of the lake or a long lazy nap in one of the two hammocks are what you will daydream about in the middle of the long Michigan winter.
