  • Great Rental! Would recommend.

"I would recommend this property for any family looking to stay in the Empire / Glen Arbor area. The property is very clean, well maintained and up to date with very nice furniture and fixtures. This property truly felt like our own home and the entire family felt comfortable here. It has every amenity you would want or look for and it is kept very clean, like your own home. The property is close to the local Empire beach, which is great for children and a relaxing day outside. It is a short drive up M-22 to Sleeping Bear National Park, which includes the scenic drive and dune climb. It is a short drive to Glen Arbor where there is more shopping and many restaurants to choose from. Traverse City is only about 20-25 minutes away. This really was a great location to set as your jumping off point and return point for all things in this area. The only issues I would recommend for the owner is to put up some shades or drapes over the living room windows for some privacy and temperature control and key the front and back door to the same key to make it possible to enter and leave from either the front or rear door. Otherwise, this house is absolutely perfect."

  • Just What We Needed

"We just returned from a week at Grove House and had the best time ever. The property is secluded but within walking distance of the town of Empire, the Sleeping Bear Heritage bike trail, and Lake Michigan. It is peaceful and quiet there. Our dogs were able to roam the grounds off leash (not possible in the city where they live) and we spent many hours on the enclosed porch, watching the wildlife or catching up on our reading. It was truly the rest and recuperation we both needed after a really hard winter and work schedule. The place is spotless, well equipped, and the owners are tremendously helpful. Will definitely visit again."

  • Tree House Bliss

"This is the first time I have stayed at the Tree House. I've been going to the Glen Arbor area for 28 years and it's the first time not staying on Lake Michigan. I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out it was so relaxing! The view is amazing as you are literally in a tree house! Waking up every morning to blue skies and hearing the leaves blowing in the wind was an awesome start to each day. The accommodations are cozy and clean. Norm is a wonderful host. All the activities that the area has to offer are very close by. I would highly recommend the Tree House to anyone!"

  • Location, Location, Location

"We stayed here on Labor Day weekend, the cabin was perfect for our family of 4. It was simple yet sufficient for our family, if you are looking for something extravagant this is not the place for you. The location was absolutely amazing the area is one of the most pristine and beautiful I have been to in Northern Michigan (this was not our first time in the region), one thing that stood out the most for me is that we did not need to get into the car to go to the dunes, the Heritage Bike Trail is literally across the street and the main Dune Climb is a short bike/walk. The bike ride to Glen Arbor was about 4 miles and we stopped at Glen Haven about half way and watched a blacksmith make a coat hook and looked at some old boats, there is also a Lk Mich Beach there. Our boys and I loved fishing in the crystal clear Little Glen and just relaxing on the shore. If you like craft beer there is no brewery but go to Art's Tavern, Short's makes a beer specifically for them. A larger beach area would have been nice, some of the brush growth could be cleared out from either side to enhance the view of the lake and enlarge the beach area, and have the beach area more maintained lots of reeds growing on it. Also, linens would've been nice but weren't a deal breaker."
