  • Great lake house, great location, awesome owners

"Nice house six feet from the shore. Beautiful views inside and out. Fully stocked and perfect lake house for us to have a great family vacation. lots of hours spent in lake and nearby sites at dunes, glen arbor and more. Owners were extremely nice and helpful. They were very proactive in setting up a dock ladder for our little kids and explaining everything. Highly recommended"

  • A little piece of joy

"This is a sweet cabin in a perfect location. The cabin was immaculate, had a great layout, and included everything we needed. Lovely outdoor fire pit overlooking the lake. Perfect for quiet, restful nights. The cabin is extremely well situated; it's near a ton of hikes, a bike path, close to Empire and Glen Arbor, and the dunes. We also enjoyed all the historic architecture in the area and all the local food! We went in early June, as the lilacs were blooming and the air was infused with their scent—so lovely!"

  • Best of both worlds - located on powerful Lake Michigan AND peaceful South Bar Lake

"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at this beach house. Just steps out the front of the house, you have breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Off your back porch, you're sitting on peaceful South Bar Lake. The number of wildlife we encountered during our stay was unbelievable! Deer, chipmunks, squirrels, beavers, ducks, birds and even a bald eagle visited daily. We enjoyed our little family of deer who came by daily to say hi - including two fawns who rested near the edge of South Bar Lake, at the bottom of the stairs leading to the private dock. We loved the proximity to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor and even took the short trip over to Traverse City one day. We rode our bikes into Glen Arbor one afternoon and took a kayak out for a tour of the lake. We walked into downtown Empire one night for ice cream at Tiffany's which was amazing! We also rode bikes to Village Inn Pizza for dinner one night and also tried out Joe's Friendly Tavern - recommend both of them. The public beach and park is a short 3-5 minute walk and is very clean and well kept. The house is charming and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We loved it and will hopefully visit again soon."

  • Fun week on the lake

"We enjoyed our visit to Little Bear. This was our tenth year visiting Empire/Glen Arbor for a weeklong summer vacation, and the first time we've rented a cottage on the water. It was nice that our "up north" time didn't end when we returned to the cabin each evening. After dinner, we could head back out and enjoy the lake in our own backyard. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed to relax. Patty was a joy to work with, and made renting and our arrival/departure a breeze."
