Why Lea Headley chose Langley
This property has been in our family for almost 90 years. 40 years ago, our parents built the Log Castle, designed by our mother and built, for the most part, by our father. Construction used logs harvested from family property and logs and stones collected from the beach. Our parents shared their home with others first as a small retreat center and then as a Bed and Breakfast. We want to continue this hospitality through VRBO.

Rustic charm on the beach
Killer location, right on the water with a great deck. Property is shared with a cottage and the house has a lower apartment that is occupied (laundry is shared with the apartment).
Was forced to look for new place to rent for family gathering when our favorite very private, secluded beachfront rental home on Oregon coast was sold. We didn't think we could find a place we would love as much. We took a chance with the Log Castle and were not dissapointed.
What a Lovely, enchanting, clean home. Private, beautiful setting and amazing views from every window. Kitchen is well stocked with all the kitchen-ware you need to cook/bake. Nice big kitchen, there is room for many cooks at one time to have a wonderful time preparing food together, not to mention the beautiful view from kitchen window. 9 of us sat comfortably around dining table to eat and play games. Deck and living room are wonderful places to enjoy the view. There is more seating in living room than is shown in pictures. Having bathrooms off every bedroom was wonderful, plenty of hot water. Nice big front load Washer and dryer. Lots of towels and extra Linen. Beach was totally private, lots of agates and shells. Bald Eagles, and Blue Herron were out and about every morning. We woke up to a seal on the floating deck one morning. We walked to downtown Langley via the beach and didn't see anybody until we were by downtown Langley. Beautiful peaceful Island to explore. beautiful hikes, historical sites, unique shops, beautiful art. It was easy to be together or escape to a quiet corner, inside or out to read or just relax. Perfect home for big group. never felt cramped. You do have to be able to walk down stairs to beach and handle stairs inside the house. It's a walk down a small hill from parking to front door but you can drive down to drop off or pick up if needed. Would love to stay here again. We only had one child with us, an 8 year old girl, she was in heaven the whole time, she loved the house and the beach.
Wow! This was an amazing property! It is so unique and quirky. The accommodations were perfect for our entire family (3 years to 90 years), with lots of sleeping areas/rooms and super kid and family friendly sleeping options. We loved the fantastic views of the water, the humming bird feeder, the bird and wildlife viewing, kayaking, beach combing, crabbing, wading, hiking, visiting Langley, so much to do and at the same time so relaxing! We had great weather all week, too. Thank you for such a wonderful family vacation in your family home.
A magical experience
The castle was beyond expectations. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the beach, the accommodations and most of all the artistic touches of the construction and history of the castle. The kids loved it too stating they didn't want to leave echoing the adult sentiment as well. Thank you for sharing this incredible place with us.
The Home was beautiful and truly unique. The views of the sound were spectacular. The grounds were wonderfully maintained and the beds were very comfortable. Lea made everything easy! We plan to return.
My party of eight adults really enjoyed our visit to the Log Cabin. It was unique to say the least. The property was clean, spacious, offering wonderful views of the water and great opportunities for relaxation and fun. There are many opportunities to go hiking or taking a short drive into town for shopping, dining, and sight seeing. We would all highly recommend a stay at the Log Cabin on Whidbey Island.
