Maui Banyan is one of our favourites

Really like this property conveniently located across from the beach. We left a new beach chair as beach equipment was worn out. Cleanliness was ok but needs a deep clean. We left a few containers for food and disappointed to find no condiments in the fridge. We’ve stayed in this condo two times but might stay elsewhere.

TV, dish washer, dryer, iron, ceiling fan not working, pull out bed dirty, old and sinking, blankets

And bed spread not washed, carpet filthy, cleanliness and non functional appliances a big disappointment. VROB SERVICE FEES were 822.00 , no extra sheets when the dryer didn’t workLocation was perfect

Perfect getaway from home!

This property is the perfect getaway from the mainland! The building is perfectly located with the beach right across the street. The apartment comes with 3 beach chairs, two umbrellas (I think), and 3 beach towels. Also, there are two outdoor showers located on the road into the apartment complex; these are better and more powerful then the ones next to the ocean. The apartment itself is spacious for 2, we loved having two full bathrooms! The bed and sofa are a bit on the firmer side but I guess that’s better than having it extremely plush. We did encounter tiny bugs (too small to be ants) crawling around on the kitchen counters. The little critters didn’t bother us too much, after all we are in a tropical place! If you are staying here don’t over pack, having in-unit laundry was perfect. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend this property over and over again!

Beautiful updates, but air conditioner and couch need replacing

We stayed in this condo for a week. The kitchen and bathrooms are top notch! We have stayed in 6 or 7 different units in Maui Banyan and this remodel is among the best. We LOVED the amazing shower heads so much we are considering them for home. The washer and dryer is Bosch and worked really well. The kitchen was well stocked. The trees outside the unit do a great job providing privacy from the parking lot. The negatives were the fact that the air conditioning did not work. It turns on, but does not provide any cooling. When you look at the back of the unit it is all rusted out. The phone also doesn't work. When we tried contacting the management company through web form, they did not respond and we didn't have a phone to call them. This is the main reason for the 3/5 star review as we feel that if you advertise with air conditioning in a very warm climate, the air conditioning should work. The TV is super annoying. It often won't go to the channel you want and you have to key in the channel before or after and then channel up or down. We have never had an issue with this in other units. There were no keys for after hours access to the complex and no response for the web form. The linens were limited so if you were washing them there were no replacements (unusual for Maui Banyan units). The couch was terrible. It fits the tropical theme, but is way past its best before date. If the air conditioning had worked and the couch had been less painful, we would have given this unit a 5/5 because the other complaints were minor. The management company needs to step up its game.

Fantastic spot!

The Maui banyan is a wonderful complex…the location is superb, across the street from beaches and close to lots of amenities. This unit was particularly nice and I would definitely stay here again.

Great location!

Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Condo has a/c but with the huge ceiling fans didn't need it to much. This is an end unit which was nice. Unfortunately the dryer needs to be replaced as it works on and off though it will dryer eventually. Overall a pleasant condo and we enjoyed our stay.

Maui Banyan H214

The location of the property was perfect in Kihei. The condo itself was very clean and very well stocked. Unfortunately the air conditioner only cooled off the main living space. The bedroom was warm and we were unable to open the sliding doors due to the parking garage noise smell right across from the lanai. There were plenty of towels, including beach towels and chairs and umbrellas. The wifi at the complex was absolutely horrendous. I called the property management, but never received a call back or response. The wifi was worse inside the unit. We were also unable to receive or make any phone calls in the condo. We would definitely return to this complex, but to a different unit and bring a hot spot.

Short Stay

Only stayed for 2 nights visiting family for short time. Grew up on Maui and come often. Condo had everything and end unit was nice. Wi-fi needs to be better, but this place will definitely be on our radar in the future.

Pick another property

This could be a great rental, but..... We called the first day and sent an email the following Monday. We never received a reply. The washer was full of laundry and the door would not open. Obviously this had happened a while ago according to the rental company. The said that they had already ordered the part but it never showed up for the two weeks we were there. The laundry started smelling bad shortly thereafter and we bought air spray to combat the odor. When we turned the bed spread down we discovered multiple nasty brown stains. We sent pictures to the rental company but no response. We took the bedspread off and put it in a corner. Both beach chairs were broken. The fry pan still had bacon grease in it and was so disgusting that I would never have left it for a guest. The dryer wouldn't dry.. It would run for a while and then shut off and then randomly start again. After four hours of trying to dry some underwear, we gave up and hung them on a chair. We were there for two weeks and the four towels really needed to be changed but there were no more. They might have been in the washer. The wifi was abysimally slow. Most day you couldn't even download email. The tv kept shutting itself off. After several days, we figured out that the box was really hot. We elevated it on a coaster stand and that seemed to correct the issue. This could be an amazing rental. The bathrooms are fabulous. The owner needs to pay more attention to details. We would never rent here again.

Great Honeymoon

It was excellent. Everything we needed. We would cook breakfast every morning and enjoy it with some coffee on the balcony. The whole place was just perfect for the two of us. We plan to come back and stay again and would love to stay here.

Sweet spot in Kihei!

This place was just what we were looking for. Quaint, good location with beaches and walks nearby and a few minutes away from the shopping centers. Super easy to navigate around from here. Was clean when we got there although there were little ant-like bugs in the kitchen which we had to keep getting rid of. The one thing I didn't like was being rushed out on the day we were checking out. Check out is at 10am, which is fine, but we were using the bathroom one last time before hitting the road and a service technician for the laundry showed up at exactly 10am and then proceeded to start servicing the machines. It was very awkward and we felt very rushed in making sure that we had all our belongings in our last minute check of the place. A 5-10 minute grace period would have been nice. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Return to Maui

The property was very up-to-date and roomy for 2 people (although it sleeps 4 w the sofa). The design had an open flow, but the bedroom can be closed off if one person is up before the other, as is always our case. We especially loved having 2 bathrooms for a 1BR condo, and an in-condo laundry. Beach chairs, an umbrella and beach towels were provided. The grounds of the resort were well kept and attractive, quiet, with 2 pools. Staff was available whenever we needed them, and we were glad to have a tour-booker available as well. We were a 5-minute walk to a beach across the street, which offered turtle and whale watching this week, fabulous sunsets, and easy enough to get to if you just wanted to spend an hour or so. It would have been nice to have had a wider deck for sitting outside, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker by any means. Also, the kitchen knives could use a serious sharpening. We would recommend Maui Banyon and this unit, and return here.

Fantastic Location & Great place!

We stayed here for 10 days in September 2018 for our honeymoon. The pictures make it look bigger than it is, but for two of us it was absolutely perfect. Well kept condo, neat, clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The lanai (balcony) was the only downfall as it is very narrow so we really didn't spend much time out there. The location was amazing, literally across the street from the beach, and about a 10 minute drive into Wailea if you wanted to go to the shops there. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall Nice property.

Have stayed at Maui Banyan on many occasions just not in this unit. The decor and appearance is very nice. Nice kitchen and bathrooms. Great location and peek-a-boo view of the ocean. The cons,. Lots of bugsi in the unit ranging from small ants to larger oval bugs. The AC is on It's last legs, doesn't cool well and really loud. The bed is extra mega super firm hard. I am 6 foot 220 lbs and could not dent that mattress. Nice unit overall but a couple of things could make it great.
