About Tony Mayhew

We purchased this farm in 1978 where we raised our family. The farm was once a full working dairy farm. Up until this year, we have rented this cottage as a long-term rental. We are pleased to now offer the cottage as short-term rental where visitors to the area can enjoy a home such as ours.

Best home away vacation so far!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been more blown away with the environment and scenery! When we pulled up it was pitch black and we had no idea excatly what we were driving up to but boy were we in for the best surprise when we woke up. The inside of the house was equally as beautiful with every inch tactfully decorated and warm and inviting. We are definitely coming back.

Majestic and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was way more than we could have hope for. I would love to love in a cottage like this for as my house. It was super comfy cozy and felt like home. Everything we could have needed was there and it was very clean and updated. The farm is beautiful! There's trees all around it and the mountain view is amazing. We enjoyed the cute pups and horses. Attempting to fish in the catch and release pond was so nice and peaceful. At night you can see all the stars. There are also many fun and interesting things to do close by and they made a folder to keep in the cottage that gives you activity and restaurant recommendations. Speaking of restaurants, all of the food was amazing! And you have to hike the mountain trails of peaks of otter, it is worth the view. We will definitely be finding our way back to the cottage again!

Lovely Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

It's been two weeks since our time at the cottage. When can I return? My husband loved the fishing (he caught a HUGE catfish in the catch-and-release pond). I loved the home-away-from-home feel and the ability to leave it all behind (as long as I had wi-fi . . . ah, such is life). We were in town to visit family in the area and the cottage was the perfect location. The vistas from the cottage were breathtaking. The hospitality will charm your socks off. The cottage is well-maintained and well-appointed. Definitely a good value. Thanks to our gracious hosts for the stay and hoping to return.

Quiet, relaxing stay with a beautiful view.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with my wife and 2 kids on our trip to see natural bridge and the safari park. The view from the home was breathtaking. Once we arrived and unpacked, we walked down to the ponds (definitely suggest bringing fishing poles) and stopped at a nice tree swing. Everything was spectacular. The home was spacious for the 4 of us with a nice kitchen and available cookware. Tony and Margaret were very hospital and said if we needed anything at all, don't hesitate to ask (we didn't need anything) We recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and if we fine ourselves back up that way, We will definitely stay again.

Absolutely Beautiful and Quite Charming

  • 5 of 5

Tony and Margaret,

On behalf of our family we wanted to say thank you so much for opening your home to us. Our family was honored to be your 1st guests. We came down for our daughters graduation from Liberty University. Wish we would have discovered this earlier and we would have come for her intensives. Your home had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and we rested really well. It was absolutely charming and more than comfortable for all of us and very relaxing. We enjoyed talking with your family and loved spending time with your adorable dogs Ellie Mae, Ziek and Daisy from up the road. The views were beyond amazing. We enjoyed playing frisbee and sitting on the swing. We had breakfast and dinners outside on the porch overlooking the property. The Mother's Day roses were beautiful. Thank you. We look forward to coming back!
