About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Gameroom, 2 Baths, 6 beds

HANDY LOCATION at the entrance to Kachina Village, 6 miles south of Flagstaff on I-17. Just 1000 yds off the freeway, yet private, surrounded by pine trees with a greenbelt behind.

Kachina Village is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest and miles of great mountain biking and hiking. 45 minutes to Snowbowl Ski Area, to Sedona, to the Anasazi ruins in Wupatki National Monument, and 1.5 hours to the Grand Canyon.

The chalet is a unique, comfortable 2600 sq ft A-frame home. Natural pine and cedar throughout; customized built-ins and special touches such as the sleeping loft, greenhouse, and game room with heated concrete floor. Plus a brand new Dimension One Dream spa.

Relax in the sunshine on the deck, toast your toes in front of the wood-burning fireplace, shoot some pool, challenge someone to a fierce match at the foosball table...or just soak in the hot tub and curl up to read in one of the private corners.

We have a fenced yard to make your dogs feel welcome if they are coming along. There is a small one time pet fee for the extra cleaning.

Our rates are based on $180 a night/more on weekends from Labor Day to Memorial Day and $240 a night/more on weekends in the summer. Weekly rates are discounted as are monthly rates. Holiday rates are based on $300 per night: Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Other holidays are the regular rates.

Why Chris and Jim chose Flagstaff

We lived here in for 15 years with our two sons and various friends. This is a great house for kids.

We had many large parties with lots of guests: Thanksgivings and Christmases were always here. Our wedding dinner was here. Our friends had a wonderful time staying at our place. When we left Flagstaff, we decided to share our happy home with others, and furnished it with the idea of the perfect getaway. We love the clean air and peaceful environs of Flagstaff, and still vacation here ourselves.

What makes this chalet unique

The surrounding Coconino National Forest, with its hundreds of miles of forest roads and trails. We loved to run our dogs in the forest. In addition to the abundant natural beauty of the high country, we appreciate the crystal clear air.

Our outdoor hot tub, dimension one dream installed November 2015, is wonderful at night, under the stars. We love the warm, rustic character of our classic chalet, which feels like 'home' from the minute you step in the door.

New Tuft and Needle mattresses in downstairs and upstairs bedrooms.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Absolutely loved the cabin! Nothing better than coming back from a long day of skiing to a log fire and a steaming hot tub. Beds were nice and comfy and the heated floors were a nice treat for our pups.

We Absolutely Enjoyed Our Stay At The Chalet!

  • 5 of 5

Depending on your expectations, this may or may not be right for you. Let me preface this review by saying that our needs were for an easy to find location in the mountains, near some services that was pet friendly. This getaway met our needs perfectly! We found the kitchen exceptionally well stocked, the cabin is clean and well maintained. The pool table, hot tub and high speed internet are fabulous additions to a warm and inviting A-frame cabin. The location is right off the highway and there is a market and a convenience store within walking distance.

That being said, if you are looking for the privacy of a retreat shrouded in forest, this might not be right for you. The neighborhood is active, as is the intersection nearby and the freeway can be heard from the cabin. Dogs barking, sirens on occasion... again not anything that bothered us but rent and rate this cabin based on your needs and what it offers, not what you are hoping or thinking it should be.

For a family gathering, with pets, the Chalet could not have been any better. The owners are great and a delightful time was had by all! Thank you for a magical vacation!

Awesome stay at Flagstaff Chalet

  • 5 of 5

Very clean with plenty of ammenitees. Easy to find in when we wanted. Loved the game room and the hot tun. Close to so many wonderful adventures. Highly recommend Walnut Caynon and Sedona. Of course, the Grand Canyon is always recommended.

Great location, great accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the chalet! It was the perfect spot for daytrips to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. We loved MartAnne's for dinner in downtown Flagstaff. If we ever get back here we will definitely stay at the chalet!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

The Chalet was a perfect place for our family! The listing was exactly as described. Everything was clean and well maintained. Our daughter just loved staying in the loft! There's a dollar general right across the road if you need anything quick, or just hop on on the highway for a short jaunt to Walmart. We planned to stay at this home so we can travel around Northeast Arizona during the day. We were able to have day trips to Monument Valley, Four Corners, and Antelope Canyon from this location. Then at night we we relaxed with a game of pool, foosball, in the hot tub or just watching TV. Chris and Jim communicated well and answered any questions we had very promptly. Thanks for the wonderful stay! We enjoyed it!

Great little getaway spot.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed this cabin. We needed a spot not too far from home but away enough to forget the stress for a bit. Cabin was as promised and had plenty of options for fun. This would be a good option for a ski trip to Snowbowl or a place to escape the Valley heat. Thanks, we loved it.
