Adorable cottage with Stunning Views:

My husband and I visited the cottage in the off-season and kind of expected to be cooped up because it would be too cold to venture outside. But on sunny days, the large yard is very welcoming and you can choose various sides of the house to 'sun' yourself depending on whether you like a breeze or not. Too hot -- go to the breezy side. A little cold? Go to the sunny non-breezy side.

On rainy days, the expansive view of harbor was a sight to behold. I could have sat at the dining table or the little sun porch all day watching the boats and the skies and the clouds. It was exquisite. One day I wound up taking the same picture on a dozen different occasions because the sunlight kept changing -- one view becamea rpettier than the next and it was hard to just sit there watching it. I wanted to take it all in :)

I recommend this cottage for romantic get aways and most definitely for people with kids (just make sure you watch the little ones because you ARE on water). It's also a great place for a family reunion. There are two dwellings on the property which gives family members just enuf togetherness and separateness to stay happy

Million dollar view? More like 2 Million!

  • 5 of 5

The property is simply superb and the view is incredible. Every room can see the ocean. Sitting in the sun room watching the working harbor with lobster boats coming in an out while seagulls flew over was simply the best relaxation one can find. Close to many things including Brunswick and several great places to eat, it is situated perfectly. The homeowner and caretaker were both very friendly and helpful especially given some unexpected weather! The bedrooms are nice and separate from the main part of the house if one wants to get away from the "action". Great kitchen for families to prepare dinner together. We didn't utilize the guest house out back but it was also very cute and warm. Will certainly look to return soon!

Fantastic Maine get-away experience and water front setting

  • 5 of 5

A perfect retreat for those wanting a tranquil, natural environment -

Maine the way it used to be. The home provides a cozy, comfortable, cabin-like atmosphere that allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy the harbor at its best! Plenty of hiking trails nearby and small town eateries to experience the essence of Harpswell.

We have been coming to Maine in the fall for 15 years and this was the best place yet. We hope to come here again next year.

Gorgeous views from a cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

Came here with my husband and 21 year old daughter. Ideal setting as she could have her own space and we could still have family time. The view from the dining room table is breathtaking...my husband and I watched the sunrise every morning. Then we would go for a walk up the road which was surrounded by flowers which attracted dozens of butterflies! It was nice to be able to cook our own meals as well as eat out. The only tiny concern I had was that it was quite cool when we went (early October) and the heat in the room with the queen sized bed did not work. But there were lots of blankets so that helped a great deal. Board games galore gave us some great times. Highly recommend this place and hope to go back again someday!

Maine perfection

  • 5 of 5

Our family has spent time at Larry Holden's magical property for two summers now and plan to continue to do so for as long as he'll have us. The space is perfect for our growing, multigenerational family with nooks and cranny's where you can go to be alone but communal spaces large enough for us all to be together, too. We rarely find the need to leave the property but when we do there are wonderful dining choices and things to do nearby. We take the quick walk up to Erika's Seafood at least twice during our visits. Our week in Harpswell is an annual highlight and we can't wait to go back.

Relaxation at it's best !

  • 5 of 5

The accommodations are rustic and comfortable but the view and the property is what brings a smile every morning. We find we don't travel far except maybe a day in Freeport or an evening stroll to the Dolphin Marina for a sunset cocktail. The surrounding coves are great to explore by kayak and the yard is great for games from volleyball to corn hole. The fresh ocean keeps us coming back every year.... And don't forget your fishing pole. G. F.
