About Allen Brooker
Allen Is a Ford Dealer in Dalton, GA ... He and Dawn were married in 2010. Dawn formerly had her own business, Clearly Fun Soaps, and was the 2008 Georgia Small Business Person of the Year. This cottage has been a long standing dream for both of us, and we've put every effort in to making in both luxurious and relaxing, while maintaining the historic charm and authenticity of the cottage. We're sure you will enjoy your stay here!!
Allen Brooker purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Allen Brooker chose Historic District
This house is a "Freedman's Cottage", which were built by the U.S. government for freed slaves in the late 19th and early 20th century. This cottage, built in 1900, is listed on the Beaufort historic registry. We both felt this house was in a great location, and with some care and TLC, could be made into a real showplace!
What makes this Cottage unique
Walking distance from downtown Beaufort, a wonderful view of Bay Street and the Beaufort River, and a very quiet, private setting.

Allen and Dawn did an outstanding job with the renovation of this cottage and thought of everything that you might possibly need. We stayed a week and very much enjoyed the beautiful interior and the close vicinity to downtown Beaufort.
Thank you for your kind words .... we very much enjoyed having you as guests!

Beautiful home and great location. Owners are available if needed. Lots of good restaurants five minutes away and historic homes within walking distance. We had a very nice stay.
Nothing but praises to sing about this house! It was perfect. Allen was so kind and helpful. Absolutely recommend.
Beautifully Decorated, Peaceful Setting
The cottage exceeded my expectations. It was beautifully decorated and made me feel as though I stepped into a project completed by one of the designers on television. Owners were very friendly and easy to communicate with. I’m hoping to plan a return trip soon.
Thank you for the kind words, Susan. We hope to have you visit with us again soon!

A beautifully renovated, very comfortable cottage
A lovely few days and excellent hosts. Allen called in to say hello and is at the end of a telephone to answer any questions, otherwise he and Dawn do not intrude at all. The information pack sent prior to arrival tells you everything you need. The house itself has been finished to the highest specifications and is extremely well equipped. Everything is brand new, the beds extremely comfortable, the ensuite bathrooms again very well appointed with excellent showers and the kitchen lacks nothing. The house is well located, both for ease of access in and out of town and for town centre restaurants and the islands. Also it is just an hour away from Savannah and just slightly longer to Charleston.
Thank you again Allen and Dawn, we would recommend your lovely house to anyone and, if we are ever back in Beaufort we know where to come.
Thank you Heather for the kind words. We hope to have you back again soon!

We enjoyed our short stay at King's Cottage very much! The décor was "first class" and we felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. The cottage was immaculate too. It was great bringing our "four legged child" as we never leave home without her. It was very close to the waterfront which was a big plus too. My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have some summer weight bed covers for the warm weather. We look forward to returning for another visit to beautiful Beaufort and King's Cottage.
Thank you Mike and Susan for the kind words! We will look in to getting a lighter weight bed covering for the summer months. Look forward to having you again!
