Relaxing get away within minutes of Staunton
We really enjoyed our stay. It was relaxing, comfortable, and convenient to Staunton and Shenandoah National Park. The host was helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed the wonderful view from the back porch, and the comfortable lodging. We would definitely stay here again!
Almost heaven is rightly named!
Once we got to this beautiful property, we realized and understood why it’s called Almost Heaven! The view is exactly that! The apartment is so comfortable and so well furnished. It was so nice to have a Keurig and coffee pods. There was sugar, various teas, lemonade packets, salt and pepper, everything you need to cook was there! The views from the living room’s wall of windows and the private patio area under the owners deck are just amazing. There are lots of things to do in the local area. We really had a lovely, relaxing time and can’t wait to return again!
Everything was perfect.
Stunning view of the mountains is icing on the cake! It's a large apartment that is part of the house but I really appreciated the total privacy with your own parking, walkway and entrance in the back. I've stayed at places before where it was its own apartment within a home but you had to go through the person's house to get to it which I didn't particularly care for. This was clean with stylish and comfortable furnishings and had anything you would get from a hotel. Owners were home if you needed them but you hardly knew they were there and I had a quiet, safe place (as a single woman this was also a plus) to relax but remained close to all the local attractions, wineries, Town of Staunton, etc. I was there in October and my view of the trees from the living room was spectacular. Great get-a-way. Highly recommend!
Surrounded by Allegheny and Blue Ridge mountains in the upper Shenandoah Valley, enjoy spectacular sunsets and dark sky star watching in a pastoral setting. The Queen City of Staunton VA is 8 mi. East, home to a vibrant arts and music scene, a sizzling reputation for local food and dining and a cool array of independent shops and galleries clustered along the historic Main Street. After you've had your fill of outdoor adventure and scenic drives enjoy a fun-filled night of theater at the American Shakespeare Center, step back in time at the Frontier Culture Museum, or explore the legacy of Woodrow Wilson at his presidential library and museum. Hiking, mountain biking, fishing and wildlife viewing abound in the surrounding George Washington National Forest. Afton Mtn. to the East is the gateway to Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. More than 25 wineries, breweries and distilleries lay within 30 miles of Almost Heaven. Walk and explore surrounding Civil War battle sites.
