1970s Gambrel Cabin in the Los Padres National Forest

About the property

Located in a spectacular mountain setting just 90 miles north of Los Angeles, Pine Mountain Club is a residential community in the Los Padres National Forest. Relax & unwind while surrounded by acres of old forests that shelter an array of flora & fauna, including the rare California Condor. This cabin was one of the original homes built in PMC in 1976. Although newly refurbished, the 70s vibe is still alive with cork floors, shag rugs, wood paneling, an 8-track player & orange Malm fireplace.

Our 1970s chalet-style gambrel cabin is located at an altitude of 5500 feet above sea level. Both bedrooms are equipped with brand new organic latex mattresses (queen downstairs, full upstairs) and Smart TVs. There is also a TV with basic cable and ATARI video games in the living room downstairs. The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, oven/stove, Nespresso machine with milk frother, blender, waffle maker and fondue pot. We have board games, puzzles, records, 8-track cassettes, a keyboard, and a working fireplace. Towels and linens are provided. We don't have a washer or dryer but there is a laundromat in the village if you need one.

You'll be in walking distance of the PMC Clubhouse which houses a restaurant, bar, recreation room, swimming pool (closed in winter), tennis courts, and a golf course. We're also close to campgrounds, hiking trails, and the equestrian center which offers trail rides in warmer months. The Pine Mountain General Store, Bear Claw Bakery, Cafe Silva Bella, gift shops and more are located in the village which is also walkable.

There is a small fenced area for our dog visitors, but please don't leave them outside alone.

The cabin is a work in progress, so we are offering a low introductory rate to gather feedback and reviews. There is no active construction, just ongoing projects and improvements planned. Please reach out to us if there are any questions or issues during your stay.

Blast from the past, 70's style.

Clean, cute, quiet and cozy. A million miles from the city, yet just a little over an hours drive away. The owner has done a remarkable job of decorating the home with period furnishings from the 60's and 70's. Nice view of snow still on the mountains from the front deck in warm early April.
