Winter is great time of year to come to our property. You may wake up one morning and see a white blanket of snow on the ground and the trees all draped in white. Then sit in the hot tub and drink it all in. Then head to the ski slopes about 45 minutes away for a day of skiing followed by relaxing apres-ski in the hot tub again. Top it off with a cracklin' fire and a real mountain vacation!

Because of the COVID 19 our honeymoon was cut short. Contacted the owner for refund, he was unwilling to work with us on refund of monies. I even explained that my husband had been laid off and he was adamant about rescheduling, not refunding our monies.
Cabin and deck need work. One positive thing, the view was Beautiful!!!! We have no plans on returning.
We have a firm no-refund policy and we can't control personal circumstances. The property is considered elegantly shabby with enhancements such as hot tub on edge of deck overlooking view, Indian slate floors (heated), wormy chestnut customized bar inset, and so much more. This is the normal response we get for each renter who does not get their refund back. By the way, we just rehabbed the deck last week .
Beautiful view and a perfect place
My wife and I spent a week here and loved every day. The owner has very detailed directions that answer most any questions you would have. The home is heated primarily by a wood burning stove with a blower on the back. This will heat the whole place nicely and there are a few electric heaters as well. The hot tub at night under the stars was amazing. The location is private and so peaceful. The home is cozy and has modern conveniences as well. Stores and restaurants and less than 15 minutes away. We will be back!
TERRIBLE experience -warning to travelers
Our experience was ROUGH from the get go with this property. We had two adults traveling for a nice Valentine’s Day weekend away from it all. Upon arriving, and getting things set up in the master bedroom, we peeled back the quilt to find that there were no sheets or pillow cases on the bed. We found them in a box near the bed and upon pulling the quilt back further we were disgusted to find multiple stains over both the mattress pad and the pillow cases. Absolutely disgusting that the owner would keep the linens this unsanitary between guests. It made us wonder if he washed the quilts and blankets or just left them for the next guest.
To make matters worse, the next morning we went into the kitchen to find a dying mouse, which we gently escorted outside.
We tried making the best of the weekend nonetheless. We chopped wood all weekend to keep warm, so not exactly relaxing. Upon leaving, we fully cleaned up after ourselves and as a courtesy, we placed the linens, our used towels from the hot tub and showers, and quilts and blankets in a provided laundry basket in hopes the owner would actually wash everything for the next guest.
A few days later I received notification from VRBO that the owner withheld $50 from my security deposit because the quilts and blankets were ‘damp’ and the maids could not identify the ‘cause of the dampness’ so they had the quilt and blanket taken to a dry cleaner and charged me $50 for it. I was shocked. The owner charged me for something he should already be doing between each guest?! Granted these are cotton quilts and blankets so even if our shower towels dampened them, the owner should be washing them between each guest anyways AND there’s a washer and dryer in the basement they could have used for free and should already be using. I calmly reached out to the owner multiple times to find out what was going on and he was rude and dismissive regarding both the mouse and the security deposit. So RENTERS BEWARE, this owner doesn’t clean his linens and blankets and mattress pads between guests and likes to keep guest security deposits for things he should already be doing every single time. I would absolutely recommend a different rental to all guests considering this property and owner.
This is the typical response from disgruntled guest who denies they left a problem for the owner and the owner called them on it and charged them for it. The guest denies it and then the landlord explains it. The guest continues to deny it after landlord has extra expenses to fix the problem caused by tenant and verified by maid service. Guest can't get their deposit back because of problem and then they conjure up the most negative review they can even though they had no problem while on their stay. IN fact, they were very happy until they were notified of problem they had caused and they would not received their money back. This is typical pattern we have experienced with less than handful of guests over the years. Read our rave reviews from all the other guests from the past and you will know the real care we take at making our place a first class experience. We work hard on keeping it that way.
great view with privacy
Amazing view and lots of privacy but close to grocery/Wal-Mart/restaurant also (~5 minutes). Badminton, sleds, hot tub all wonderful to enjoy depending on weather. Wood stove heats house nicely and we enjoyed making s'mores. Thank you for providing plenty of wood. Bed/pillows not the most comfortable but overall excellent stay and we will be back.
Our little getaway
This was a great stay. Cozy & no far from stores. Im a city girl out here in the mnts. Nice to know there's a Wal-Mart within 10 mins.
Badminton and square dancing on weekends in summer and fall
