Come experience the majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park, the abundance of elk, and the quaint village of Estes Park! We are accepting reservations for Summer and Fall 2018!

Enjoy your mountain get-away in a comfortable, rustic cabin nestled at the base of 14,000 foot peaks. Gorgeous mountain views and wildlife such as elk, coyote, deer, and rabbit are yours for year-round viewing from the cabin. Get outside and go hiking or snow-shoeing on one of the numerous RMNP trails on both sides of the Continental Divide, go fly-fishing, horse-back riding, or river rafting with our convenient location as your home base. Great shopping, live music, festivals and art venues are located downtown and the newly renovated event center. We have all the cook- and serve-ware you need to prepare your meals and relax at home. For those of you who prefer not to cook, we can recommend a lovely meal at one of Estes Park's fine restaurants.

Awesome views of the Rocky Mountains are yours from this clean and comfortable, historic cabin. Conveniently located less than a mile of the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance and within a mile from the heart of downtown Estes Park, you can come home after a fun day of hiking, shopping, or exploring and relax in the spacious living room by the wood-burning moss-rock fireplace. The living room has a cozy leather couch, leather chair with ottoman, elk horn chandelier, flat screen TV with Dish Satellite, DVD player, and wireless Internet service.

Enjoy gorgeous scenery from every window. The cabin is adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park land and has a peek of the Big Thompson River, so wildlife abounds. The cabin is very private and surrounded by natural beauty, but is also close to the town of Estes Park with all of it's amusements, activities, restaurants and shops.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for meal preparation (including a full-sized four-burner stove, oven, refrigerator, LG dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and basic coffee supplies, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, silverware, spices and linens) with an adjacent dining area. The dining table seats 6 people comfortably.

You can also barbeque using the full-size Weber charcoal grill and dine on the outdoor furniture in Summer and Fall. Kick back on the Adirondack chairs on the front deck and soak up the views of Long's Peak, Mt. Meeker, Twin Sisters and more.

One bedroom on the main level has a queen bed with down comforter, plenty of closet space, walls finished with knotty pine and windows for a great view of the mountains.

The sleeping loft upstairs has a double bed and a futon, a hexagonal window facing the Continental Divide views, and a sloped ceiling. The loft is separate and private, perfect for kids yet tall enough for 2 adults to stand, get dressed, or sit and read. We recommend the sleeping loft for 2 adults or up to 3 children/juniors.

Full bath with tub/shower and plenty of towels provided. The bathroom is stocked with a travel-sized hairdryer, small sample sizes of soaps and lotions, etc. We provide a few rolls of toilet paper and a box of tissues to get you started, but you may need to buy more paper products during your stay.

Laundry room has a washer and dryer. We provide a small amount of laundry detergent for a couple of wash loads, but you may need to buy more soap during your stay. There is also a travel-sized ironing board, an iron, cleaning supplies and trash bags stored in the cupboards above the washer and dryer.

We keep in the living room closet a portable crib with sheets and blankets, a highchair and a back-pack style child carrier for your use at no additional charge.

We can provide you with recommendations for hikes, activities and restaurants here in Estes Park, and we keep maps and brochures in the cabin for your reference. Please inquire if you need further information; we live here in Estes Park and are happy to share local information!

We have posted reviews from our guest books kept in the cabin. We are very grateful to have such special guests come from all over the country to visit. We strive to make every guest feel that their stay at our cabin is an enjoyable and memorable one!

About Pamela Wallace

We are an active family of four including 2 children (a boy 15 years old and a girl 12 years old) living here year-round in Estes Park. We love the grandeur and beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the abundance of wildlife in this part of Colorado. We never get used to seeing the herds of elk, Rocky Mountain sheep, mule deer, rabbits, coyote, bear, snow-capped mountains, rivers full from the snow melt, wildflowers and aspens in all their seasonal colors. We love to share in the natural beauty with visitors from nearby and from far away.

Pamela Wallace purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Pamela Wallace chose Estes Park

This location has truly amazing mountain views of Long's Peak, Mt. Meeker, Twin Sisters and the Continental Divide. It is also surrounded by open space, bordered by Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) land, close to the Big Thompson River and provides excellent year-round opportunities for viewing wildlife right outside in the front yard, including herds of elk, deer, coyote, rabbit, badger, birds, and even the occasional bear. The proximity to the Rocky Mountain National Park (less than 1 mile to the park entrance) and downtown Estes Park (about a mile to the heart of town) make this a perfect mountain getaway for adventurous exploring or pampered relaxation. Our cabin makes a great base of operations for hiking and touring within RMNP and is also close to restaurants, golf, and other amusements and activities in the quaint village of Estes Park. We trust you will enjoy it as much as we do! Fully equipped kitchen with full-size appliances (including a very quiet LG dishwasher), big living room with flat-screen TV, and washer and dryer make our cabin convenient and comfortable, but the location, views and privacy are what makes our cabin really exceptional.

What makes this cabin unique

Excellent mountain views and privacy. Lots of opportunities for seeing wildlife (especially elk, sometimes in large herds) year-round from this historic cabin. You can relax in front of a fire in the wood burning fireplace on the leather couches in the living room. BBQ on the Weber charcoal grill and dine on the patio furniture outside, or just kick back on the Adirondack chairs on the front deck and soak in the gorgeous views!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Pamela and Tim,

Thank you for accommodating us. Your cabin was so much nicer than a hotel. We saw a lot of elk out the window and we loved your beautiful fireplace. Our grandsons played ball in the front yard and really enjoyed staying at the cabin. It was a wonderful time. Thanks,

A perfect cabin with a perfect view of the Rockies!!!

  • 5 of 5

We can’t say enough great things about this cabin. The view of the Rockies absolutely blew us away. We had our honeymoon there and it far exceeded our expectations. It is fairly secluded and private, yet just a few minutes from the main strip of Estes Park and only a few minutes from the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. I can’t think of anything the cabin is lacking. It has it all and was perfect for our honeymoon and we will most definitely be returning for another vacation with the family this time! The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. The communication from the owner Pamela was always on point. The cabin was not too big, yet not too small. We had the best experience staying here and we can’t wait to come back!! It’s very rare to have such a perfect experience, but we had just that during our stay at this cabin!

We had an awesome experience here.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived the second week in October just in time to wake up to snow and elk grazing out our front window. The fireplace is exceptional, draws well, is easy to light, and does a great job of warming the space. The cabin is located close to the RMNP entrance and downtown Estes Park and features incredible views of the snow-capped peaks. A new restaurant, Bird & Jim, just opened up down the road. We walked there and had a wonderful meal. Easily the nicest restaurant in Estes Park. Pamela checked on us via email during our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. The weather quickly warmed back up and we had several great days of hiking and unforgettable scenery. We would love to return!

RMNP Vacation

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Wallace house. We happened to meet the owner as we arrived. She was making last minute inspections. She also texted the next day to see if there was anything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the amazing view and the convenience to everything in Estes and RMNP. The house was clean and well equipped.

Pamela was very responsive via email and text. The cabin was clean and inviting. Being able to do a load of laundry the day before departure was a plus! Location, location, location! The location was perfect for us! Enjoyed the views from the cabin! We decided last minute to stay an extra night and Pamela was very accomodating. Thanks again for an enjoyable experience!!

Nestled at the entrance to the east side of Rocky Mountain Park at almost 8,000 feet elevation, our cabin is located in Estes Park surrounded by 13,000-14,000 peaks and wildlife abounds. There are many hiking trails for all levels and abilities in Estes Park and RMNP, as well as other activities for all ages in our quaint mountain town. The top of Trail Ridge Road is open to drive across the Continental Divide seasonally between approx. late May and mid-October, but you can still explore the east side of RMNP all year round. In Winter, you can snowshoe on many of the hiking trails and back country ski at Hidden Valley. The closest downhill ski resort is Eldora Mountain Resort about 1.5 hours away.
