About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-6)

** We have last-minute availability on August 15-17 for a mid-week getaway, or during the last week of August on the 27th through September 1. August is a GREAT month to visit Estes Park!! **

Come experience the majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park, the abundance of elk, and the quaint village of Estes Park (celebrating 100 years in 2017)!

Enjoy your mountain get-away in a comfortable cabin nestled at the base of 14,000 foot peaks. Gorgeous mountain views and wildlife such as elk, coyote, deer, and rabbit are yours for year-round viewing from the cabin. Get outside and go hiking or snow-shoeing on one of the numerous RMNP trails on both sides of the Continental Divide, go fly-fishing, horse-back riding, or river rafting with our convenient location as your home base. Great shopping, live music, festivals and art venues are located downtown and the newly renovated event center. We have all the cook- and serve-ware you need to prepare your meals and relax at home. For those of you who prefer not to cook, we can recommend a lovely meal at one of Estes Park's fine restaurants.

Awesome views of the Rocky Mountains are yours from this clean and comfortable cabin. Conveniently located less than a mile of the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance and within a mile from the heart of downtown Estes Park, you can come home after a fun day of hiking, shopping, or exploring and relax in the spacious living room by the wood-burning moss-rock fireplace. The living room has a cozy leather couch, leather chair with ottoman, elk horn chandelier, flat screen TV (new in 2015) with Dish Satellite, DVD player, and wireless Internet service.

Enjoy gorgeous scenery from every window. The cabin is adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park land and has a peek of the Big Thompson River, so wildlife abounds. The cabin is very private and surrounded by natural beauty, but is also close to the town of Estes Park with all of it's amusements, activities, restaurants and shops.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for meal preparation (including a full-sized four-burner stove, oven, refrigerator, LG dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and basic coffee supplies, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, silverware, spices and linens) with an adjacent dining area. The dining table seats 6 people comfortably.

You can also barbeque using the full-size Weber charcoal grill and dine on the outdoor furniture (new in 2015) with umbrella in Summer and Fall. Kick back on the Adirondack chairs on the front deck and soak up the views of Long's Peak, Mt Meeker, Twin Sisters and more.

One bedroom on the main level has a queen bed with down comforter, plenty of closet space, walls finished with knotty pine and windows for a great view of the mountains.

The sleeping loft upstairs has a double bed and a futon, a hexagonal window facing the Continental Divide views, and a sloped ceiling. The loft is separate and private, perfect for kids yet tall enough for 2 adults to stand, get dressed, or sit and read. We recommend the sleeping loft for 2 adults or up to 3 children/ juniors.

Full bath with tub/shower and plenty of towels provided. The bathroom is stocked with a travel-sized hairdryer, small sample sizes of soaps and lotions, etc. We provide a few rolls of toilet paper and a box of tissues to get you started, but you may need to buy more during your stay.

Laundry room has a washer and dryer. We provide a small amount of laundry detergent for a couple of wash loads, but you may need to buy more during your stay. There is also a travel-sized ironing board, an iron. cleaning supplies and trash bags stored in the cupboards above the washer and dryer.

We can provide you with recommendations for hikes, activities and restaurants here in Estes Park, and we keep maps and brochures in the cabin for your reference. Please inquire if you need further information; we live here in Estes Park and are happy to share local information!

We have posted reviews from our guest books kept in the cabin. We are very grateful to have such special guests come from all over the country to visit. We strive to make every guest feel that their stay at our cabin is an enjoyable and memorable one!

About Pamela Wallace

We are an active family of four including 2 children (a boy 14 years old and a girl 11 years old) living here year-round in Estes Park. We love the grandeur and beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the abundance of wildlife in this part of Colorado. We never get used to seeing the herds of elk, Rocky Mountain sheep, mule deer, rabbits, coyote, bear, snow-capped mountains, rivers full from the snow melt, wildflowers and aspens in all their seasonal colors. We love to share in the natural beauty with visitors from nearby and from far away.

Pamela Wallace purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Pamela Wallace chose Front Range

This location has truly amazing mountain views of Long's Peak, Mt. Meeker, Twin Sisters and the Continental Divide. It is also surrounded by open space, bordered by Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) land, close to the Big Thompson River and provides excellent year-round opportunities for viewing wildlife right outside in the front yard, including herds of elk, deer, coyote, rabbit, badger, birds, and even the occasional bear. The proximity to the Rocky Mountain National Park (less than 1 mile to the park entrance) and downtown Estes Park (about a mile to the heart of town) make this a perfect mountain getaway for adventurous exploring or pampered relaxation. Our cabin makes a great base of operations for hiking and touring within RMNP and is also close to restaurants, golf, and other amusements and activities in the quaint village of Estes Park. We trust you will enjoy it as much as we do! Fully equipped kitchen with full-size appliances (including a very quiet LG dishwasher), big living room and washer and dryer make our cabin convenient and comfortable, but the location, views and privacy are what makes our cabin really exceptional.

What makes this cabin unique

Excellent mountain views and privacy. Lots of opportunities for seeing wildlife (especially elk, sometimes in large herds) year-round from the cabin. You can relax in front of a fire in the wood burning fireplace on the leather couches in the living room. BBQ on the Weber charcoal grill and dine on the patio furniture outside, or just kick back on the Adirondack chairs on the front deck and soak in the gorgeous views!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Pamela and Tim,

Thank you for accommodating us. Your cabin was so much nicer than a hotel. We saw a lot of elk out the window and we loved your beautiful fireplace. Our grandsons played ball in the front yard and really enjoyed staying at the cabin. It was a wonderful time. Thanks,

First of all I would like to give a big thank you to Pamela who was a wonderful host; she responded quickly and communicated very well. I used to go often to Estes Park back in the 80's and fell in love with it but haven't been back in over 15 years so when I decided to treat my nieces to a vacation I decided on returning to this area. This cabin was the perfect find! It was extremely clean (one of my nieces who is extremely germaphobic loved it) and so pretty. We just couldn't get enough of the beautiful views from the large living room windows! The three of us had a separate bedroom area (one used the pretty bed area below the stairs) where we could have some alone time after long hours exploring during the day. The bathroom is large and the shower was splendid. We ate out the whole time and only used the coffee pot in the am but it seemed everything was provided if you did choose to cook (also a grill outside). In short, if your looking for a place to stay in Estes Park look no longer because this is the place to stay! If I return I hope this cabin will be available.

Great location and fit our family of 4.

Perfectly located in Estes Park with easy access to downtown, RNMP and restaurants. Beds were a bit smaller than I thought & I'd suggest bringing your own pillows, but overall I'd definitely recommend this cabin!

Owner's Response: Thanks for this positive review and for recommending our cabin! (A 4-star review actually lowers our overall score which is closer to 5 stars, so if you'd recommend our place a 5-star review would better reflect the quality for the value of our cabin!)! Our bed sizes are as advertised - queen bed in the master bedroom and a double bed in the loft. We have several extra pillows of varying sizes/types so guests can feel free to move them around and use the ones they like best. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We loved having you as our guests and will not charge you for the broken bowl.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind remarks! We always strive for 5 stars, so please let us know how we could improve the cabin experience for you. Just curious how we didn't meet complete satisfaction for your stay (indicated by only 4/5 stars), since your interactions with me and feedback has been only positive. Best regards, Pamela

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for what we wanted...great views, great location, comfortable. You can sit on the couch and look out the front window at the mountains and wildlife. Elk were everywhere; we also saw coyotes and fox. The stars that you are able to see on a clear night are amazing, as Estes is a dark sky community. 5 minute ride to RMNP was beautiful. I was able to walk into downtown Estes Park each morning, too. I'd love to come back to this cabin, for sure!

Pure Estes

Really enjoyed staying at this cabin, between the view and quiet neighborhood we had a great time. We loved having the fireplace because of the blustery weather outside and just stayed home one night, rented some movies and soaked up the heat. We would love to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

The best views!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! The best views! Wonderful to sit outside and look at the mountains! And all the stars in the sky at night! The house is conveniently located to Rocky Mountain National Park and to Estes Park. The house is clean, spacious, and well stocked. The fireplace was very nice in the evenings.

The elk and deer walked right in front of the house and were all over town! There is a Country Store and gas station and liquor store right down the street which had great selections. We found our favorite beer there (Steel Toe Milk Stout!) and huge shrimp which we grilled out and lobster tails (only $10 each!) What a treat! Leave early to go to Bear Lake (be there no later than 8:00 a.m. or it is too crowded). Lots of hiking trails there, nice easy one around the lovely lake and others up to other lakes, we saw pretty Stellar Jays and Magpies! The drive on Trail Ridge Road is a must. We drove it all the way to Grand Lake. The person at Kawaneeche Visitor Center was very helpful in describing hikes to take-Adams Falls was short and nice. Green Mountain Trail to Big Meadows (3.6 miles roundtrip) was beautiful! Coyote Valley has nice flat loop trail, from here you see the small Colorado River. Wonderful area. Nice place to stay. Host, Pamela, was very good in communicating with us and making us feel welcome.
