About David Comerford

Hi, I have owned a vacation home for the past 30 years. I enjoy having my son and our friends share our lovely home with us. We are outdoor enthusiasts. We love to ski, raft, hike, swim etc.. Friends love to join us at the sandy river ski house for fun, relaxation, sitting around the fire and in the kitchen making yummy meals.

David Comerford purchased this house in 2006

Why David Comerford chose Oregon

It is next to the river (200') with easy access to all the fun stuff to do on Mount Hood. Just a short 50 minute ride from Portland and we can be sitting on the porch sipping tea and listening to the sounds of the river through the large fir trees.

Just what we needed

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights in this wonderful home on the Sandy river. Skiing was the goal, but it was too warm and wet, so we ended up spending most of our time at the house. David, the owner, is a great guy; really warm and welcoming. He was helpful, flexible, and a pleasure to deal with. The house itself was clean, well-maintained, and larger than it looked on the site. I imagine it would be great for a family or larger group. The kitchen was well-appointed, there was plenty of firewood, and my dog even found a neighbor dog to play with. All in all, a great place to stay. We will go back.

Immaculately maintained with thoughtful consideration to all our needs

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely location- loved the sound of the Sandy River and being nestled in this quiet sanctuary. The proximity to Mt Hood, Government Camp and other amenities worked well for our vacation- hiking, white water rafting with Zoo Raft and walks along the river. The home is impeccably maintained and the owner ensured all our questions were answered well in advance of our arrival. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and pleased that the knives were all sharpened for home cooked meals. The briquettes bbq was too small for our family of 4. We enjoyed many of the books and games. We look forward to another opportunity to visit this pristine slice of heaven.

Roomy and great location

  • 5 of 5

Convenient to everything. I was nervous to drive in the mountains, but everything was so close. We can't wait to stay here again. Another plus was that the owner was very quick to reply to any inquiry. He informed us of a maintenance issue before our arrival and offered to cancel or discount our stay. The issue ended up being a minor inconvenience, so we stayed and declined the discount.

Owner's Response: Amy, I'm pleased you and your family had an excellent time at my home. Sorry about the unexpected pump issue, we can't predict when equipment wants to malfunction, The quick response by the maintenance person helped fix it. I'm glad it didn't affect your vacation. See you next time! David
