Why diane kurzontkowski chose Bainbridge Island
we found these cottages and the location reminiscent of cape cod where we grew up - "sweep out" cottages, great for a romantic get-away or piling the whole family in. We love the location, warm in the summer protected from the northern winds, southwestern exposure for lovely sunsets. We like being able to walk 1 block to the movie theatre, bakery/deli, morning latte, 3 restaurants and a small grocery store. Our favorite activities include hiking and biking from the cottages.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love to walk out the door and hike around fort ward or bike on the south end of the island.

On-The-Beach a weekend get-away
Feb 29 & Mar 1st @ the beach of the Puget Sound and a southern view: wonderful. Comfortable, peaceful, & convenient are notions that apply to this cabin. The owner was VERY supportive with great suggestions on where to dine, sites to visit, and places to hang-out and recharge from the busy world. Bainbridge Island is a jem right in Seattle's front yard; close-by yet detached from the metro scene. Pack your flannel shirts & your jeans and blend in with the island locals. Bring along a good book, your bikes or your hiking boots as you may not want to connect to the wifi. In winter we had a marvelous time. In summer, this location would have even greater appeal and broader opportunities for fun. It's a place for a couple to reconnect with each other as well as with the out-of-doors.
This is the second time we've stayed at Diane's property. It's a cozy cottage with all the amenities you might need. It's walking distance to a cute little strip with shops and restaurants and the beach is basically steps from your door.
The property was clean, Diane was on hand to answer any questions, check-in and check-out were easy ... overall, an excellent stay once again!
Just what we needed
This is a little jewel that takes you back in time. The neighborhood is perfect. We walked to a great breakfast, a fabulous beach walk, caught a movie and then dinner at a sweet restaurant. All without getting in our car. It was lovely. We hope to return.
Love this little cottage!
This lovely studio cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing, romantic getaway. Super comfy bed, delightful beach front, a 2-minute walk to restaurants and the very special shops that are Heyday market and Pane d'Amore. Felt like we were in a small French village. Thank you Diane for being a great host!
Perfect cottage to stay in with my daughter! We were on the island for a soccer tournament and had everything we needed, plus enjoyed a really wonderful night's sleep.
Walk one block to Historic Lynwood Center and Pleasant Beach Village. Dine at one of three restaurants, enjoy your morning latte and pastry, listen to live music at The Treehouse Cafe, watch a movie at The Historic Lynwood Theatre, get a massage, enjoy happy hour at Suzanne Maurice Wine Bar or bring back a bottle of wine and cheese from Walt's Neighborhood Market!
Some of the best hiking and biking is right out the front door on the south end of the island!
