Private Hawaiian Paradise Words Can’t Describe

  • 5 of 5

This was by far the most beautiful place we could have stayed at. If you love privacy, peaceful and tranquility this is your place! Gorgeous property with fresh coffee beans, eggs and fruit when you arrive. We had coffee and cooked breakfast in the open kitchen overlooking the ocean each morning. Our hosts were great! We spent 5 days here then 2 days at a resort. So glad we stayed longer here.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here 4 nights with a family of four (daughters age 14 and 17). Having the two cottages was fun, and we really enjoyed the outdoor kitchen. The location is great, about 20 minutes south of the bustle of Kona, but still close enough. We like to stay in places off the regular path, and this one was perfect for that. Very quiet and peaceful, with incredible views. 5 min up the road are enough stores and services to keep you going, and 10-15 minutes the other direction is excellent snorkeling and beaches (like Two Steps).

Everything was clean and included all the amenities you would want, including a bag of really good homegrown coffee!

Since the location is a bit wild, and the kitchen is open-air, be prepared to share your space with a few critters, especially day geckos. They don't bother us, but they will be everywhere including the counter tops and showers.

The owners are very friendly and easy to get a hold of. We had no issues with our accommodations, but they are there to help and always willing to answer questions.

We had a wonderful time and absolutely would stay there again. Highly recommended if you want a more authentic Hawaiian experience and something other than a condo or resort.

Love the place, just as described, plan to stay here many more times!

  • 5 of 5

If you want the true Hawaiian experience this is the place. Located on the hillside of a farm with coffee, cacao, bananas, mango, papayas, lemons, oranges and other plants. The lanai’s and outdoor kitchen offer full ocean views to wake and end the day! The breeze kept most of the mosquitoes away, we did get a few bites but nothing a little spray and after bite fixed. I hate mosquitoes and plan to come back if that helps!

Mike is an amazing guy, I’m sure his wife is just as great but we never got the chance to meet.

Secluded but close enough to everything. Rooms and kitchen are exactly as pictured and no surprises. I would stay there again- wish I had booked two weeks instead of one. There is so much to see in the area.

Beautiful surroundings - a joy to cook outside. The property was magical and we enjoyed our stay in surroundings that was private but yet close to shops and restaurants. We mostly cooked our meals since the sunsets where amazing to see.

A great option for us and we had a great stay, but probably not for everyone

  • 4 of 5

As other reviews noted this is very private and feels like you're in the middle of a jungle, yet is very close to attractions, food and other services. I would not recommend arriving at night as even with great instructions, it's a challenge to navigate in the dark.

Two couples enjoyed this setting of private sleeping cottages and a shared open kitchen. It was a great base for golf, snorkeling, a Luau, coffee plantation tour and west coast exploring.

We weren't aware of a new gate code but otherwise communication and hosting was excellent. The fresh fruit from the property was amazing and Viktoriya gave us good local recommendations for food and activities.

The night noises of bugs and other animals are more similar to camping than staying in a hotel but the accommodations were very comfortable and we used the kitchen for breakfasts and most dinners.

Snorkeling and other beach necessities were included.

If you read the reviews and it sounds like it fits your style, then you won't regret staying here. It was a great option for us and we had a great time. (Would be a five star rating, except for the mixup on the gate code. We had no cell service and no easy way of getting a hold of the owners so had to wake the neighbours!)

Owner's Response: Aloha! Sorry about you missing the Welcome Email from VRBO.Com that we automatically have sent to all arriving Guests. If you had opened it, you would have found detailed directions to your property AND the new Gate Code. For the security of our Guests, we change the Gate Code out. Also, our home phone number is displayed in the Welcome email with Arrival directions. We really strive to make sure our Guests find us, as we are on a very private Estate location above Kealakekua Bay, I, Mike, the Owner, do not go to sleep until the Guests arrive. your 1100Pm arrival was pushing the envelope on my ability to stay up for arrivals, But, I was there for you, and personally took you to your Cottages, to make sure you were properly accommodated. Again, Sorry you got lost, we will focus even more on making sure People are able to find our property!
