The kids can enjoy the pool table or PlayStation 2 on their private loft.

You may feel a million miles away but Bear Pleasures is only minutes from golf, shopping, and amusement parks in Pigeon Forge, hiking in the Smokies, or all the fun to be found on the strip in Gatlinburg. Enjoy all the comforts of home in this beautiful cabin during your extended events like car shows, conventions, or ball tournaments.

Both bedrooms have queen beds, wall-mounted satellite televisions and individual bathrooms. The master bath has a river rock jacuzzi with a wonderful overhead 'falling rain' showerhead. For extra sleeping accommodations the den's leather sofa which converts to a queen bed and the loft daybed has an extra pull-out mattress which works great for the kids.

Why The Owner chose East

This is where my husband and I came for our honeymoon in 1978. We both were raised by hard working parents that did not travel alot. So for me that honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was a real treat. When we had an opportunity to think about a vacation home this was the first place we thought of. So in 2003 we had our cabin built. Then in 2005 I decided to quit work and we decided to offer our home to others who loved and wanted a great place to get away to. My husband passed away on July 14,2010. So now having built this cabin together and spending many wonderful times there, it is a very precious memory of wonderful times there with him and our children. I hope you and your family can come and share it with me and store some wonderful memories for your family!

What makes this cabin unique

We loved hiking the many trails in the National Park. We love eating at Calhoun's and the Park Grill. And the Greenbrier, which was originally an old hunting lodge, it is a great place we would go and eat to celebrate our anniversay! There is great shopping and for me just sitting on the deck and reading a good book is wonderful! I try to keep the rental fees as low as I can and if you are traveling with another couple you get so much more than you do with just a hotel room! I invite you experience this special place. Make some memories that will last a lifetime!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Our 2nd time here was as good as our 1st. Don't change anything. You have a terrific cabin and the perfect place for us. The seclusion is wonderful. (No noise; just nature's sounds)(We hope no one builds by your cabin) Hope to visit again next year. You have all the amenities anyone needs. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin! We enjoyed our stay very much! Since I rely heavily on reviews when I am making plans I want to be as helpful as possible. The cabin is at the end of the road so it is nicely secluded. We loved how close you can park to the front door making it easy to get luggage in and out. It was very clean when we arrived. There was a live scorpion in the bathroom sink when we entered but this is no fault to the cabin, it is deep in the woods and it added to our experience :o) The furniture is definitely a little worn. The kitchen was more than adequate supplying everything we needed. 2 things to be aware of : first of all you can hear every noise in the cabin as if you were all in the same room. I assume this is probably true to all cabins, we were just not use to it. Secondly, there is no view from this cabin. There are 2 wonderful decks - one enclosed and one open - and it is delightful to sit on them, You feel like you are in the middle of the woods and it is very relaxing. But the trees right around the cabin are what you see, not the mountains. Over all we were very happy with our stay.

Family time

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in your cabin. The cabin was beautiful!!!! The pictures don't do it justice. This trip was just what we needed an absolutely relaxing and fun vacation. It was nice just to hang out and watch movies with the kids and talk for a change. We even got to set around the table and eat as a family. We will be staying at his cabin over and over again. We will also recommended it to lots of friends.

Family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We met our daughter, her husband and our three grandchildren in Gatlinburg for a wonderful week staying at this great cabin. There was plenty of room for the seven of us.

The cabin was just as advertised in appearance and amenities. Sitting on top of a mountain at the end of paved road, it was easy to find(with the help of our GPS unit). This, somewhat, secluded cabin was very clean and well maintained. Our needs were few during our stay and were quickly taken care of by the management staff.

I would say this is the best of the cabins we've stayed in during our visits to the area and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice well kept place for any type of family gathering.

This is the type of place I would consider if I was looking to buy in the area for a vacation home of my own. I really liked the etched glass windows and doors and the "bear" theme throughout the cabin.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review. This is what my late husband and I had in mind when we built the cabin. A great place for our family to get away to and spend quality time together. We enjoyed our time here so much we wanted to share it with others. It is a special place to me and I'm so glad that you have made memories with your family! Thank you again and come back when you can!

Wonderful Weekend with Family!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family from multiple states met at this Wonderful Cabin for a long weekend getaway. Absolutely Wonderful! We had plenty of room for everyone. Cabin was very clean and warm. Plenty of towels for everyone! Extra supplies were available onsite with several phone numbers to contact in case we needed anything. Very relaxing and secluded on top of the ridge. Beautiful views of the snow topped mountians! Plenty of parking for multiple vehicles. Nice flat area out front for the kids to play. We all enjoyed a fun weekend of playing cards, watching movies, playing pool, and just relaxing. Far enough from town that you had the full Mountain experience, yet close enough to shops if you need something. Thank you for helping my family make memories for a lifetime!!! We are already checking calendars for a time to visit your cabin again.....soon!!!!!

Mad christmas guest

  • 1 of 5

This cabin has fleas it ruined my family christmas vacation. Many of my guest still have fleas bites, Thanks alot I called Alpine Mountain Chalets and they did not dealed with this situation right away, my family and I ignored going to the cabin as much as we could and we did not payed 50 dollars a night for the cabin. The money we payed was not worth this cabin. There is also too much dust, dirty curtains, and many other broken stuff. THE ONLY REASON I BOOKED THIS CABIN WAS BECAUSE OF THE AIR HOCKEY TABLE AND THE POOL TABLE AND GUESS WHAT??? THEY DID NOT WORK. Please avoid this cabin it is the worse, the solution that they gave me at the office was an extra night free. REALLY? Who would want to stay an extra free night in a cabin full of fleas!? Very disappointed and shame on them because they ruined my peaceful family vacation. I hope they give me somewhat of refund.

Owner's Response: Dear Mad, I am sorry that you feel like your vacation was bad. I spoke with the rental company that you rented from and they did tell me that they made several trips to the cabin during your stay to try to address your issues. I'm sorry that they were unable to take care of things to your satisfaction. I have had hundreds of guests that have praised the cabin and the rental company for their attention to details and response when a problem might arise. I have just had guests return from the cabin on Sunday, Jan. 5 and they called me personally to thank me for the wonderful time they had with their family at this same cabin. They loved the cabin and were even snowed in the first day. Again, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. I have addressed each of your complaints with the rental company to try to make sure this doesn't happen again. Thank you for letting me know your concerns and issues so that I could make my rental property better.
