Overview

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8+)

She Creek Cabin is located on five acres bordering the Chattahoochee National Forest. There is more than 800-foot of private creek frontage with a large fire pit located on the banks. Another fire pit awaits you just outside the back door of your cabin.

Made entirely of wood culled from the property, the cabin was built with mountain relaxation in mind. Your vacation home sits on a hill, is completely surrounded by woods and has a spectacular view. From the 200-foot wrap around porch, you can use the binoculars supplied for you to watch the deer grazing in your yard. The occasional bear may stop by to see what you're up to and enjoy some of the salt block and oats put out for them. Watch wild turkey strut their stuff in the yard and humming birds enjoy nectar from the feeders just inches away from you on the porch. A family of owls lives in a tree on the property and a family of Hawks also live nearby. You'll definitely want to bring your camera.

When you arrive, you'll probably find a jar of homemade blackberry jelly on the kitchen counter. This jelly was made from berries picked on the property. If you're lucky enough to be here during July, we recommend you bring berry buckets for picking.

The cabin has been furnished with many ammenities. It has a new high-efficiency washer and dryer and a high-definition, large-screen television with more than 150 channels delivered via satellite. Some movies and games are supplied for the dvd player. For a nice, quiet evening, enjoy some of the board games or jigsaw puzzles. Because cell service in the mountains can be sketchy at best, we have included free long distance calling from the land line.

If hiking is what you're coming to the mountains for, we have a variety of books and maps that will show you how to find nearby waterfalls and hiking trails.

She Creek Cabin is located just three miles from whitewater rafting on the Wild & Scenic Chattooga River, where the movie 'Deliverance' was filmed. We are also just three miles from Kingwood golf resort. Less than an hour's ride from Alpine Village in Helen, Ga, we are the perfect location for your next vacation.

NOTE: I do accept credit card payments but not through this site because Home Away and VRBO have added a new service payment that I do not agree with. To save you that extra charge (from 5 to 10%), you'll need to call us at (706) 782-3007 or (706) 244-1712. Thank you.

About Barbara Westbrook

The Westbrook's are a family of whitewater rafters and nature enthusiasts. This photo was taken during one of our yearly family reunions hosted at our cabin in the mountains.

Why Barbara Westbrook chose Northeast Mountains

We actually bought this cabin in order to halt development on the cabin's five acres of land.

What makes this cabin unique

During our family reunion we will have 50 or more people show up at the cabin for cookouts and fun around the fire. We spend the week rafting on Sections III and IV of the Chattooga River and we funyak and swim on the easier sections of the river. We also spend a lot of time hiking, shopping in the nearby antique villages and towns, and some days we simply play at the cabin having fun in the creek.

Lovely cabin with lots to offer

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long weekend here and loved the place. It is thoughtfully appointed and had just about everything our group wanted. The photos do not do it justice! We enjoyed exploring the property and playing in the creek. Evenings were spent cooking and relaxing on the screened porch and down at the fire pit. Great stay!

The cabin was beautiful and private, but conveniently located near town. It had everything we needed so we could sit back, relax and enjoy.

Awesome !!

  • 5 of 5

My new favorite place to stay! This is the Get-a-away it says....so very quiet and charming. Love all the little extra's in the place to make it feel like home. Argus was our guide for our walk, which is the best waterfall anywhere. My dogs did great here. Can't wait to go back.

Amazing Family Vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family spent four nights at She Creek Cabin. We had the most amazing time!! The location is just perfect. Close enough to a some shopping (CVS, Family Dollar, McDonalds) but tucked away for relaxation. The property is well kept with plenty of room for the kids to run around and She Creek is just yards away!! My boys were excited to make blueberry pancakes with the berries picked in the back yard. There is a fire pit perfect for making smores! For those looking for adventure, zip lining, white water rafting, hiking and horseback riding are a very short drive away. Tallulah Gorge in also just a quick drive away.

Barbara is amazing! She was quick to answer any questions I had and booking our stay was no problem. Also, this cabin is equipt with everything you need. Just pack your bag and head to She Creek! I am already planning our next visit :)

Best vacation EVER!

  • 5 of 5

I just spent a week at the cabin with my family and 2 dogs. It was so much fun! We went whitewater rafting, zip-lining, hiking, fishing, swimming, waterfall chasing, and even firefly watching, star gazing, bird watching, and campfire marsh mellow toasting!

The cabin is perfectly located just outside of Clayton (which has everything you need), and is literally minutes from both South & North Carolina. There are 3 GA state parks (Tallulah Gorge, Black Rock Mountain, and Moccasin Creek) within ½ hour away, that were great day excursions. Each is unique and offers something different for the whole family.

The wild and scenic Chattooga River that borders Georgia and South Carolina offers both adventure and serenity. In addition to the white water, there is a quiet peaceful section where we took a leisurely float trip in inflatable kayaks. And, as if that wasn’t enough fun, the creek that runs through the property is beautiful, woodsy, pristine, and secluded. It was lots of fun with the dogs. They absolutely loved the water, and we enjoyed letting them run and play off-lease.

Barbara and Bob Westbrook (the proprietors) were fantastic. Their hospitality was exceptional, and really made our stay great. Thank you!!!

I highly recommend the She Creek Cabin to all families with children, elderly, and pets. There is something for everyone. If you haven't seen this part of the country, I urge you to come experience and enjoy the mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, wildlife, etc... the great outdoors!

Exceeded our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for - remote but, at the same time, convenient; well maintained and comfortable. We very much appreciated and enjoyed the the back yard with the fire pit and the screened-in porch with the picnic table. The big hit, however, was the canine welcome wagon. The dogs were very friendly and well behaved.
