About this property
Cozy, Comfy "English" Cottage on Central Denver's East Side
NEWLY REOPENED! Homeleigh Cottage in the historic Montclair neighborhood on the East side of Central Denver is the perfect clean, cozy cottage vacation stay for one or two people. Artwork and unique collections make it reminiscent of an English cottage. It exudes old-fashioned comfort but features all the modern amenities. Enjoy flicking on the gas fireplace and snuggling up with a book or perhaps the latest copy of English Home magazine. Settle in at the back yard table and chairs under the pergola on one of Denverās famously comfortable summer evenings and sip a glass of wine while grilling on the gas grill and gazing at the garden. Dine out at nearby restaurants or prepare your own dinner in the well-equipped kitchen. The safe, quiet neighborhood is conducive to walking, and I have furnished some maps for walks if youāre interested in historic houses. As with many lovely English cottages, youāre even within shouting distance of your own local historic castle!
East Denver location makes it relatively close to the airport ā about 15 miles (or approximately 25 minutes via I-70, depending on traffic) away. Central Park train station (to the airport or downtown) is 2.5 miles away. Off-street parking Large, private, fenced back yard with garden and pergola Gas grill and charcoal grill Gas fireplace Microwave Gas range and oven Refrigerator One bedroom with Queen bed Richthofen Castle, built by the Red Baron's uncle, is a fun, 5 minute walk away! Grocery stores, liquor store, and pharmacy about .7 mile away in Mayfair neighborhood. Lowry redevelopment area with Safeway, restaurants, boutique shops, aviation museum, ice cream stores, and bars is about a mile away Cherry Creek Mall and Cherry Creek North shopping and dining district is also near ā about 3 miles away. About 4 miles to the Downtown area, bus access nearby. Anchutz Medical Campus is located 4 miles away.
A friendly, non-shedding, hypoallergenic Labradoodle dog lives here during non-VRBO time, but I have not had reports of any allergy problems.
Enhanced cleaning procedures in place as of June 2021.

Very charming cozy place perfect for a couple. Great central location for sightseeing downtown Denver, great walking/ cycling access if you donāt just want to drive everywhere. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed the suggested walking tour. Cynthia was an excellent host

Our second time staying at this lovely cottage, a haven for us while in Denver! Beautifully furnished in a safe and historic neighborhood, it is very convenient to the attractions in Denver. Last time we stayed in August, and enjoyed the private back yard and patio. This time we stayed in April, and enjoyed the cozy fireplace during a late season snowfall. Thank you Cynthia for making our stay so pleasant!

Extraordinary property in lovely Denver neighborhood
We had such a lovely time in Cynthia's home. The place is spotless and fully equipped with every convenience. The back yard is a gem, and we spend our evenings enjoying the breezes and watching the sun go down. Cynthia was incredibly responsive and made everything a breeze. We'll hope to come back to this house when we come back to visit our son.

Exactly as described - an English cottage in Denver! Tucked into a safe neighborhood, the cottage was situated perfectly to easily access sites and events in the city. The cottage is secure, with a lovely yard, patio set, and grill behind the driveway gate. The kitchen is well-appointed, the sitting area is comfortable with enough funiture for the two of us, the bathroom is clean, and the bedroom is spacious with storage areas for guests and a very comfortable bed w/quality linens. Communication with the owner was excellent - clear directions for how best to use the property, timely information, and very friendly interactions! We look forward to our return to the property when we visit Denver again!!

Iām delighted that you enjoyed Homeleigh Cottage! Thanks for being such excellent guests. Youāre welcome to come back any time!
Cynthia, host, was awesome. She was very communicative pre- and during our stay. Her explanation(mostly via sticky notes) of every component of the rental was excellent: it was easy to figure out how everything worked. The house was well-equipped with anything anyone could want.
I am a Denver native but have lived in Boston for 50 years, so was awate of the Montclair neighborhood, but had not spent much time there. It was lovely. The historical walk high lighting neighborhood sites included in Cynthia's notebook was outstanding.
Plus, it was close to a venue in Lowry which was the focus of our trip..

Let me begin with, I would definitely stay again!š
The house is adorable, comfortable and was a perfect size for the hubby and I.
Itās in a very quiet and maintained neighborhood with some attractions, shopping, groceryās, downtown and good places to eat, anywhere from 5 to 20 mins away, with the exception of Red Rock Amphitheater which is about 30 mins. Highway all the way and worth the scenic ride.
You name it the house has it! Glad to have found a scales to keep me accountable while vacationing!š
The English theme is also great from pics, nicknacks and teas to the little waving Queen statue in the kitchen window, serving delish scones upon your arrival.
A Great place to stay! Thanks Cynthia.

Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Homeleigh Cottage! I hope your concert was great. You and your husband are welcome back here any time!
What a pleasant stay my husband and I had at Homeleigh Cottage! Very convenient location, only 6 minutes from National Jewish Health Hospital where we came for appointments. It was hard to believe we were in the heart of Denver, the back garden was serene and smelled of conifers. We enjoyed having dinners out there and watching for the little bats come out at twilight. There was a bunny that came twice a day outside the kitchen window, what a delight. The owner was very helpful, and very easy to get in contact with. For us, it felt quite like home, with the antiques and majolica dish collection. The owner had a binder with local restaurants, shops, and touristic suggestions. The cottage is in a neighborhood of historic homes, and we enjoyed the walking tour of the neighborhood that the owner outlined. We were happy to have stayed at this peaceful haven and hope to return.
It was perfect for my short stay near Cherry Creek. Very small, cozy "English" cottage. Was greeted with a note from Cynthia and delicious fresh scones and English tea. All things available to cook if needed, but close to many grocery stores and restaurants. I stayed in most nights to recuperate from my day and the neighborhood was very quiet. The one room was cozy, lovely sheets on a very nice comfy bed. The one bathroom was clean and had basic bath essentials. Room for clothes in the armoire and closet. Empty bathroom cupboard to store personal items. It was just me, but only enough room for 2 at the most - like a sweet personal B&B. The night before I left, there was a big thunderstorm and there was hail all around the neighborhood, but the weather was very warm during my stay. Love the springtime in Colorado. I would love to stay again!!

Excellent stay! Place was exactly as described. Backyard area was spacious. Perfectly located for our needs. Host left a notebook with information about the place and surrounding area. Super helpful! Communication was easy and host was responsive!
The location was close to many restaurants and shopping. We visited Botanical Gardens, visited two farmers markets, did some shopping at the Container Store and everything was close.
The host was easy to contact and very accommodating. Easy check in and check out.
I will say this was different for us as we have never stayed at a place that is actually someoneās home. So it was different, not necessarily bad, just different. I was unsure what I could use in the kitchen, the refrigerator had lots of items inside and the freezer didnāt have room for us to put our bag of ice. We always like to cook while on the road and this was an area of the cottage where I was a little uncomfortable. There is also a lot of personal items around, since this is the hosts primary home.
The water from the faucet has to be filtered in a special pitcher and sit for awhile. I just used bottle water to wash my veggies from the Farmerās Market.
We always stay at places with a washer and dryer, and the cottage has both which is a plus for us.
Other than that, the cottage is quaint, and comfy.. We really enjoyed our stay. The host was very nice and helped us when we asked for help..
We enjoyed our stay and our accommodations very much. It was our first time to the Denver area and I can see what attracted our son to move there. We did quite a bit of tourist things (our son had every day planned), but we were also able to grab some groceries and head back to Montclair, do a little grilling and just visit with our son which we enjoyed just as much!
I apologize if I left the grill a bit dirty, but I wasnāt able to find the grill tools mentioned in the guest notebook. I improvised.
Also, I gave a 4 star rating on cleanliness because my wife has an uncanny ability to root out such thingsā¦me, not so much.
Iām not sure when weāll be visiting again, but we would certainly consider staying at Montclair when we do! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Great place to stay the house is beautiful, and the patio is excellent for sitting out and watching the day. The house was clean and comfortable, and located close to everything you could need for a stay in Denver. I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay at Homeleigh Cottage! Thank you for taking such good care of my pretend "English" experience. I hope that the rest of your Colorado trip was fun and that you'll come back again some day!
I hadn't been on vacation in almost 2 years. Because of the nature of my ministry and job, there is a great need to recharge and disconnect sometimes. This was the perfect place to do it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would definitely recommend this property to others. Thank you so much for the cleanliness and personal touch!

We had a lovely time in the English Cottage.
Everything was well appointed.
Little did Cynthia know that actual royalty has now stayed at her english get away. I come from the bloodline of King Edward the III through my 9th great grandmother Anne Skipwith, born York Castle, Yorkshire, England 1642 and died Philadelphia, Penn. on April 3, 1723. She married first at Hull in a Quaker ceremony on the 11th day 7th mo. 1662 to William Goforth, born at Knedlington, England 1631, died Burlington, New Jersey between 1677 and 1686.
We would enjoy staying again sometime in the future when we visit our daughter in Denver.
