Our Traverse City Willow Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath vacation cottage 10 ft from the beach. It is one of 2 cottages that make up our small family owned and operated lakeside resort.
-Located on one of the best 70 ft. of sandy beach frontage that Traverse City's Silver Lake offers.
- Silver Lake is a crystal clear 600 acre spring-fed lake, surrounded by trees with islands and peninsulas. It is great for boating, fishing and swimming.
- It is an easy 10 minute drive to Traverse City.

-Wi-Fi, cable TVs, central air conditioning, gas fireplace, central heat, and a fully equipped kitchen.
-Two docks, a swimming raft, kayaks, paddle boards and rope swings which are available to our guests at no extra charge.
-Each cottage has its own outdoor table, charcoal grill and campfire pit with wood provided.

-The resort is modern yet it has been in existence since the 1930's when Silver Lake had only a few fishing resorts and cottages. The original owners picked this prime lake sandy beach frontage to locate this resort. It is on ¾ of an acre of flat lake-front property, 500 ft. from the road, with a large backyard for games. Having direct frontage with no steps to the lake is a plus for lake living.

PLEASE NOTE: Maximum occupancy, no more than 4 . All children and babies are counted per the health department restrictions. Minimum age to reserve cottage is 25 years old. No parties, no events, no day visitors/guests are allowed.

This is a smoke free (vaping, smoking of any substance), animal/pet free resort. No exceptions, please don't ask.
The other cottage located in our resort, Maple Grove is VRBO property ID # 361471.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin on the lake! It was very well stocked, which made it easy to enjoy breakfast at home. Everything was spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the whole place was so quiet and peaceful. We can’t wait to come back when the weather is nicer so we can take advantage of the kayaks.During our stay, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Pepe Nero, visited Mari Vineyards, and went for a beautiful hike at Empire Bluff. The location of the cabin is perfect—everything is just a short drive away.Highly recommend this spot and looking forward to our next visit!

The Willow cottage was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. AC was phenomenal for the extremely hot 90 degree days. It was clean and the two bedrooms were beautiful. The front porch 15vfeet from theame was much bigger than in the photos and faced the east so had plenty of shade and protection from any rain. Multiple kayaks and paddle boards provided were fantastic. Saw many loons up close!

Great location right on the water and 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City. Tons of attractions for kids with a short drive. Hosts are on site and very friendly. Accommodations are very clean and as advertised. Would recommend this location to anyone with young kids.

MDW on Silver Lake

Beautiful, peaceful location on the water. The cottage was perfect for our busy weekend in Traverse City. Because we were busy with other plans we didn't take advantage of all the things the property had to offer but would love to return in the future and do just that!

Amazing Lakefront Retreat with Exceptional Host!

We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful lakefront property! The views were absolutely stunning, and the house was immaculate and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The outdoor space was perfect for morning coffees and evening BBQs by the water. The host was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We can’t wait to return to this little slice of paradise! Highly recommended!

Perfect House

The house was clean, in great condition, and had everything needed for our week stay. The location was convenient, and the setting on the lake was beautiful and peaceful. The hosts were incredibly nice and had thought of everything. We especially appreciated the restaurant recommendations they provided in the instructional binder. Every one we tried was amazing! We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely cottage

I rented this cottage with my 2 adult daughters for a long weekend, and we absolutely loved it! Marian could not have been nicer; she truly went above and beyond as our host. The place is impeccably clean, with a well-stocked kitchen that made meal prep a breeze, comfortable beds and bedding, and a sandy beach right outside the deck. The place has too many thoughtful touches to name them all -- highly recommend!

Great place to stay

This was a great place to stay, especially with our young kids. They loved playing on the small beach and watching the boats go by on the lake. Quiet and relaxing spot but still very close to everything in traverse city.

Idyllic TC Cottage

The Willow Cottage is literally two steps from the best spot on Silver lake. It is a very short distance into downtown Traverse City so you can relax and get away from the traffic of town but venture out to the restaurants and shops when you want. One of the best stays we have had in 20 years of vacations in this area.

Wonderful vacation location

The Willow cottage had everything we needed to have a wonderful, lakeside vacation. It was quiet and comfortable and big enough for our family of four to spread out and relax together. The location on Silver Lake is simply perfect and the hosts (Marian and Tom) are incredibly friendly and responsive. Our 2 year old loved watching the boats go by, looking for “fishies” off the dock, and swinging in the hammocks - as did Mom, Dad, and baby sister. We are looking forward to returning as our kids get older and are able enjoy this little gem even more.

It’s even nicer than the pics, small & great location

The pics actually don’t do it justice. It’s even cuter in person. It’s small but had pretty much everything we needed for a short family getaway, right on the lake. Only one tiny complaint was, we had 4 of us and we’re there 3 nights and we each only had 1 towel & 1 washcloth provided. we actually ended up going& buying some. But after I looked on the details, they did say that, but I did not catch it. Other than that, no other issues! Super clean! The host was super helpful. It was a great to have the kayaks available, also the fire pit! Great little cottage!

Nice relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful week at this property. Everything was as described. I’m actually missing sitting out on the deck eating my breakfast and drinking my coffee. It’s always so hard to return to the “regularly scheduled things” after a relaxing vacation. Thanks for allowing us to rent your property!

Great Cottage

This cottage was clean, well furnished and comfortable. It has a wonderful porch overlooking the water. It is very close to the water so the feeling from the main room is that of being on a houseboat. We loved walking down the steps from the porch and onto the beach. It is great for swimming and boating.

Relaxing & convenient lake stay

The property was perfect for a family of 4. Literally steps to the water to fish, swim and play. Owners allowed the use of paddle boards, kayaks, etc. Convenient to Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan. So much to do in the area!

My husband, Tom and I were married in 1979. We moved to Traverse City in 1980 from the city of Detroit. My mother was raised on an local farm. My maternal great grandparents were pioneers to the area. I developed my love for the area as a young child as we vacationed every year in Traverse City. Tom and I honeymooned in Traverse City and moved there 9 months later. We raised our 5 children in Traverse City. We discovered and purchased our small resort in 1989. It was a diamond in the rough, but it had a great private sandy beach and was in close to Traverse City. We remodeled the cottages as we raised our 5 children. We are very proud of our resort. We love the area and enjoy sharing information about the area with our guests.

Our small 2 cottage resort offers one of the best frontages on Silver Lake. The cottages are off set from each other. The Willow is 10 feet from the beach on one side of the 70 ft. of frontage. Maple Grove in on the opposite side of the side of the property. It sits back about 100 ft. from the beach with a lawn between the house and the beach. The view of the lake is unobstructed. The cottages are close to town but far enough away to leave the hubbub on the city behind.

Our own home is located on the property. We have an additional 30 ft. of lake frontage for our personal and our seaplane.
We have owned and managed the 2 cottages since 1989. We strive to provide a peaceful and enjoyable experience for our guests. We take great pride in our clean/comfortable/updated homes that our guests call home during their stay. You will be able to relax and enjoy your vacation as we are very available for assistance. Though we are here to help, we know that our guests enjoy their privacy.
We love to share sight-seeing ideas, golf courses, nature areas and restaurant recommendations. We have maps of nearby bike, walking trails, winery/brewery brochures and places only the locals know where to go and see.
