About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Bright, airy, comfortable, and attractive, this two bedroom/two bath condo provides a relaxing retreat from the wear and tear of daily life. Lying in bed in the master bedroom or sitting on the couch in the living room, you will have a view of the wide Atlantic and be able to hear its restful music. (Isn’t there just something about listening to the waves that puts the troubles in life in perspective?) Polywood bistro table and Adirondack chairs, a two/three person glider, and a comfortable rocker on the wide, north-facing balcony furnish a shady retreat on which to sit and sip coffee or sodas while watching the kids frolic in the pools, the dolphins play with each other, or the sea gulls chase the shrimp boats.

On rainy days, guests can watch DVD’s in either bedroom or in the living room. A large plasma TV hangs on the wall across from the bed in the master, which is a favorite feature for some of our guests. The living room also features a 42 inch plasma TV for your entertainment desires. The master, living room, and second bedroom all have cable TV and we now offer wifi at no extra charge for those who like to stay connected!

With a comfortable California King-Sized bed, the master is a relaxing haven. The bedside table even sports a charging station in the top drawer for all your electronic devices! Hopefully this will enable our guests to remember their cords. Seems every time we owners travel, we leave some cords along the way!

The kitchen comes fully equipped with coffee maker, two sizes of George Foreman grill, mixer, crock pot, waffle maker, cookware, bakeware, glassware, dinner service and flatware for those who enjoy (gasp!) actually cooking on their holidays. (I do.) Thanksgiving and Christmas guests will even find a turkey roaster to prepare their holiday meals. You’ll also find a small laundry room inside the unit with washer/dryer/ironing board/iron for your convenience. Spacious closets allow you to unpack and put away the suitcases so you don’t spend your vacation tripping over STUFF!

Beach chairs and beach towels are all provided so that you don’t have to pack the farm when you travel. We have also left a small collection of pastimes for your enjoyment. Boogie boards, skim board, beach toys, kites, umbrella, fishing poles, bait buckets, two sizes of ice chests, etc are also kept in the closet on the balcony. Of course, it does happen that our guests forget what they brought and what was already in the condo so sometimes those items walk away. Though we can’t promise they’re still there, all of these items were in the condo last time we visited. And, of course, all linens for bed and bath are provided. Due to fire codes, we are no longer able to provide a barbecue grill for our guests to use on the balcony. We apologize for the inconvenience. This is out of our control.

This unit is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. When you walk in the door it should both look and smell clean. This is a hot button for us! When we vacation, we don’t want to move into someone else’s dirt nor do we want our guests to have that kind of negative experience. And because the owner is allergic to molds, the housekeeper is very careful to attack dusts, molds, and mustiness that sometimes accompany beach properties. Towels, sheets, glasses, and most rugs are often replaced and we have top quality balcony furniture that should last almost for ever! In February of 2017 we have just replaced the dinette set, the dishwasher, and the range, as well as exchanging the vertical blinds with light blocking attractive curtains. This unit is as immaculate as we can keep it considering the steady stream of guests coming through the door!

The complex in which this condo is located, St. Augustine Beach and Tennis Condos, is an ocean front complex just 2/10 of a mile from the famous Oasis Grille. The wide beach is only 300 feet from the condo across a private, coded access boardwalk. It is 3/10 of a mile to Winn Dixie and half a mile to the Publix grocery store. The historic district is only five miles away; the pier is 2 miles away. A third floor unit with access to two elevators, luggage carts, and grocery baskets, it is easy entry and exit. The homeowner’s association rules are flexible enough to allow guests to have a good time while being stringent enough to protect their safety. It has a reputation for being family friendly rather than for attracting the party crowd. You will find the complex clean, well maintained, and attractive with its two large pools.

As owners, we want our guests to have wonderful vacation experiences. To that end, we are continually striving to make our condo a more and more enjoyable vacation destination. If our guests make special requests, we have bent over backwards to try to fulfil their request to the extent that one day a guest emailed us to tell us the bed was lumpy and we had a new mattress delivered the next day! Contact us with any questions. We do our best to make staying with us a pleasure which you will want to repeat year after year.

About Pat Dexter

We are missionaries in Asia and have a large family- 8 children, 2 granddaughters and 6 grandsons! We love the Lord Jesus, God's Word, and His creation. It is our pleasure to serve Him together. We have our feet firmly planted in two continents with one foot in Asia and the other in America since we have one daughter adopted from China, three Asian daughters-in-law, an Asian son-in-law, and we are Americans. We've decided that until we get to Heaven our hearts will never be in just one place again!

Pat Dexter purchased this condo in 2007

Why Pat Dexter chose Florida North East

When our parents passed away a few years ago, we found ourselves with no place to stay when we visit America, so we used our inheritances from them to purchase this home away from home. This particular condo captured us because of the wonderful view and the aesthetically pleasing recent renovations. It provides all the comforts of home for us when we get to come to the states and by renting it to guests between times, we are able to pay the high costs of maintaining it. We consider it a very special gift from our parents, who always took such good care of us and continue to do so even after they're gone, through this wonderful provision. This place is a haven for our family, as we hope it will be to our guests.

What makes this condo unique

We love lying in the bed and looking at and listening to the beautiful ocean. Seeing blue skies and the ocean every day is just wonderful after months of white/gray smog filled skies and city noises! You may take fresh air and clean smells for granted but we don't! We enjoy the comfortable furnishings which are attractive but uncluttered. Our kids love the wide open spaces, running on the strand, swimming in the pools, and enjoying God's creation. The condo itself and the entire complex is well maintained, which always makes our time there especially pleasant! And it is in a location where walkers can take long walks on the beach without running into retaining walls. The pier is a 2 mile walk each way; Publix is 1 mile away; Winn Dixie is 3/10 of a mile away; and a restaurant is only 2/10 away. So we have loved being able to walk around without getting into the car. It brings us back to simpler times, perhaps!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time! Loved the condo and are already talking about going back next year. We really liked that it was so completely stocked and so clean. Have been places in the past that often didn't have things that we needed.

We loved that the beach was so close and the view from the balcony.

Thanks! :)

Beautiful Clean Beach Condo

  • 5 of 5

When we first stepped into Pat's condo, it smelled so clean! Then we saw how beautiful she had furnished it! We loved how spacious it was. She has thought of absolutely everything you'd ever need. The kitchen was beautiful and easy to move around and cook in. It's well stocked with cooking utensils. The beautiful dining room table is big for a large family. The den was such a good size with lots comfortable seating and extra bedding with the couch pulling out and also the oversized chair pulling out for beds. The twin bedroom is a good size and has beautiful twin beds that are cozy and comfy. The Master bedroom was very spacious and the King bed was fabulous! The balcony has the perfect ocean view...loved sitting out there! Balcony furniture very nice and comfortable. The courtyard where all the balconies faced in was very well maintained! Beautiful setting and they were always working on it and the pool area keeping it beautiful! There's a very short 3-4 minute walk (if that) to the beautiful beach! Once at the beach, it felt as though you had your own little private stretch of sand! We love how once you get to the complex, it's secluded from other condos off the main roads. It seems away from it all, yet it's so close to everything! We love the ease of getting to the Old Downtown of St Augstine in just a matter of minutes! Salt Water Cowboys, Gas Full Service, The Sunset Grill and The Oasis (which you could walk to!) are our favorites and very close with great food. You can tell that Pat takes great pride in her beautiful condo. We are already making plans to go back again next year. This is a very beautiful, clean and well maintained condo! We love it!

Great time in St Augustine

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed at this beautiful condo with two of my girlfriends. When we first arrived we instantly noticed how clean and well kept this condo was. Was also pleased with how well the kitchen was stocked. Luckily I got the big bedroom with balcony access and comfortable king size bed. We enjoyed the pools and ocean everyday plus also spent time in Old Town (must eat at Harry's and Columbia), the lighthouse and Antastasia Park (great trails) Some other restaurants we enjoyed were Oasis (closest to condo and 1/2 off drinks for happy hour), Salt Life Food Shack and Conch Restaurant. There is also a great farmers market at the pier on Wednesday mornings which we all loved. If we return to St Augustine in the future I hope to stay here again.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you ladies enjoyed the condo, finding it clean and well stocked. We want it to be well supplied when we stay there ourselves, too! You did luck out, drawing the "long straw" to get the master bedroom! Lying on that comfortable bed and looking out at the beautiful ocean is idyllic! I'm so glad to hear you appreciated that. Thanks for being great guests. Our cleaning lady mentioned that you had even begun washing the linens when she arrived. She appreciated your thoughtfulness in that. We hope you will come back time and again. Thanks for taking time to write this nice review and for the reminder about the farmer's market at the pier on Wednesdays. We usually hit the one at the Amphitheatre on Saturdays but forget that one, so you taught us something.

Wonderful Condo, Close enough to everything yet far enough away to be PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time to St Augustine and was looking forward to exploring the history the oldest city in America. I have rented many a condo in my time. This was the best by far!!

Everything was clean and in order. What ever you would want was there. The location is just far enough out to be the most perfect place. It was peaceful and everyone there was very nice. The view was fantastic! The beach was not crowded and just a short walk from the door. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and traffic was not bad at all. Traffic in the historic district (just a few miles away) can get a little congested but looking at all the beautiful old buildings and the bay you really don't mind at all. I would suggest to take a trolley at least once.

Pat was an absolute pleasure to work with. Always answered emails in a very timely manner. She even checked to make sure everything was in order and that we arrived with no problems. All I can really say is Thanks for the memories and a wonderful vacation and We will be back.

Owner's Response: We would love to have you back! We appreciated your kind review and you taking the time to write one so soon after you got home from your vacation. I was so glad we were able to work out details for you to spend two weeks and get a real rest. You guys needed it! Thank you for pointing out the convenience of our location to so many restaurants, shopping, etc. And I'm glad you enjoyed the trolley. It makes seeing the Old City so much more convenient and saving parking for a few days with your trolley pass helps out, too. Again, congrats on the hole in one while golfing. That was an amazing accomplishment! I guess a few days at the beach helped you to relax your swing, yes? ;) You will always be welcome and we hope to hear from you in the future. Thanks for being so easy to deal with.

Great time to visit

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying at the condo. It was a great retreat way from a hectic work schedule. Lots of time to lounge in the comfortable furnishings that the Dexters have.

Owner's Response: We're glad you had a great week and a nice retreat! It really is a great time of year for the beach. Thanks for your "engineer's eye" on the workings of the property. I believe we have since had all the items you mentioned repaired! Again, I'm sorry there were several small items that needed attention during your stay. Having the handyman go no show three Saturdays in a row after he had promised to fix things threw a wrench in our standards. But we appreciated your patience.

A fantastic condo.

  • 5 of 5

I gave this condo a five star rating because that was the highest. Everything was as advertised and the Dexters were a joy to work with. Pat made the rental process painless. A perfect location for sightseeing, honeymoon, romantic getaway or just plain doing nothing and enjoying the condo and the beach. The condo location provided the most amazing sunrises. Anyone who doesn't believe in a higher power mind would be changed after on eof these sunrises. I will for sure be back.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words, Norman. We can't take any credit for the sunrises but you're right- they obviously show the work of a Creative Mind that is beautiful in detail and design! Love hearing that you saw Him at work while you were there. We hope you folks will be back time and again. You were pretty great to deal with yourselves! Blessings, Pat

What a great place to relax and enjoy St Augustine

  • 5 of 5

This rental is easily one of the best we've encountered. The property is clean and very well kept, quiet and relaxing. The staff, residents and visitors were all so pleasant and accommodating. There were a few families in other condos with kids ranging from small to teen and all were well behaved and played well with our grandkids when they came for a visit. It was fun to see them enjoying the pools and the beach.

The condo has direct access to the beach with only a gated walkway between you and the ocean. It's located just north of a public access road, so your first steps onto the beach are at the fringes of the crowds that gather around the public access making your beach time usually very quiet and uncrowded. The beach itself is perfect, exactly what you want in an ocean beach, with broad sands and easy surf.

The condo itself was immaculate and well appointed. We lacked for nothing from a coffee maker to pots and pans, and had plenty of room to relax. The Wifi kept us connected even when sitting out on the balcony, so we could work in the breeze and watch and hear the ocean. The breeze never ended...the hottest part of the day was very pleasant in the shade with the ocean breeze coming in. The cozy and homey atmosphere is a blessing and we felt completely at ease for the entire week.

The location is another big plus. Traffic is not any problem, there are restaurants and stores within easy reach, even a restaurant within walking distance. And access to the city of St. Augustine is easy.

We can't say enough good about this rental. We highly recommend it and look forward to doing it again!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking time to write a very nice review. We appreciate it greatly, especially highlighting different details about the beach itself that may not have made mention in previous reviews. That makes it especially helpful to future guests and we appreciate that. We're glad that you found the condo comfortable, convenient, and well appointed. It was a pleasure dealing with you folks and we hope you'll be back again and again!
