Some reason this area has a lot of bait and switch properties. I'm not sure why that is. I was looking for a place with a dock and a fire pit. I contacted the owner confirming this place had both, and he replied yes. Then, I didn't get the instruction until I was about an hour away. The directions told us that this place comes with no bedsheets. We get there to find out the place doesn't have towels either. We decided we would go to the store in the morning because everything closes early. We then cooked dinner and had a fire by the fire pit. The fire department then comes and tells us we had to put the fire out. In New Hampshire you need a permit for a fire pit. Because the season was so dry, they were not issuing permits. The dry season thing I could understand not knowing, but I wish the owner would have told us about needing a fire permit when I initially asked about the fire pit. I also Did see a roach in the basement, but that was only once.
The house does have a paddleboat, two kyaks (no paddles), the wobbly dock to fish on, and tons of board games. We were a single couple and it was an okay place to stay. I don't think it was worth the price, especially with no sheets or towels. It is an excellent place for a family to stay for the right price and if you know what you are getting yourself into.
