beautiful, stylish, comfortable house in magnificent location
This is a lovely SB home - we found it spacious, elegant and very well appointed, in a beautiful location facing the Mission and the rose gardens, and an easy drive or walk to State Street. The neighborhood appears very peaceful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in it. Our host was outstanding, and we felt very well looked after during our stay.
We are very grateful for our many repeat visitors, like these wonderful and considerate guests and look forward to welcoming them back often in the future. We feel lucky to have such a wonderful place and are glad others find it so as well and that we can share it with them!
Live in the shadow of the queen of the Mission
Fantastic location, right across the street from the rose garden and Mission. All the comforts of home, well stocked, beautiful kitchen and beautiful front sitting room with amazing mountain views. Historic home has been restored beautifully - fantastic base to explore Santa Barbara! Host was very responsive to all of our needs - an absolute pleasure to stay here!
Thank you for these comments! We feel very lucky to have such a special place and are grateful that we have been able to take good care of it and can share it with families like these recent visitors who appreciate both the historic qualities and the improvements we have made!
Santa Barbara Mission location
We loved this property! The owner was very honest about the fact that the house is a "heritage" building and hence we were not expecting to find totally modern appliances and fixtures. The charm of the Spanish revival architecture was truly beautiful and everything in the house functioned well. Location and setting of this property is perhaps one of the finest in Santa Barbara and looking out on the rose garden and lawn of the Mission never failed to impress. A beautiful back yard and many interesting walking routes all helped to make our stay most enjoyable. The owner kept in touch with us and had left a very complete list of local contacts. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and we look forward to staying there in the future.
Thank you! We look forward to welcoming you back!
Santa Barbara/ Darryl
The house was a unique historic house across from The Mission Rose Garden. The property was well maintained and had all the amenities one would need. The owner was wonderful and very accommodating to all our needs. I certainly would recommend this property to anyone and will definitely stay there again in the future. The rose garden and park across the street made a perfect place for the grandchildren to play and the family to gather fora picnic.
My favorite restaurant is called Jane's in downtown. Also the trails and beaches are a big plus.
Hear the Mission Bells! Santa Barbara, known as the California Riviera has been attracting visitors for over a century. Attractions include, historic missions (the 'Queen of the Missions' is across the park in full view), a vital, dense, urban downtown, theaters, renowned restaurants, the sea and nearby mountains (all within view of the house). Los Angeles and San Francisco are nearby (80 and 300 miles respectively). The year-round climate is mild. The city's policy of limited growth and strict architectural controls guarantees an attractive setting free of the grid-lock plaguing many urban areas today.
