¡Bienvenido a Owl House en Norris Lake!

Te invitamos a visitar nuestra encantadora cabaña con vista al lago. Owl House lleva el nombre del búho barrado que mis hijos y yo nos hemos sorprendido de ver cazar en el patio. Si te sientas en silencio en el porche al atardecer, ¡también tendrás una buena oportunidad de ver al búho!

La cabaña se encuentra en Persimmon Road. El acceso al lago está disponible a 5 minutos a pie (también puede conducir). Sequoyah Marina es el embarcadero más cercano y Anderson County Park también está cerca.

Owl House fue originalmente una Alphabet House construida en Oak Ridge. Suponemos que se mudó a Persimmon Road en la década de 1950 y se hicieron algunas modificaciones, como elevar los techos y agregar 2 porches y una terraza.

Norris Lake fue el primer lago TVA, la presa se completó en 1936. El lago tiene más de 800 millas de costa y casi 34000 acres de superficie a nivel de estanque completo. This is a comfy, pet friendly home in a beautiful location. We sat on the screened in porch as several deer passed through the yard and enjoyed our kayaks from the small dock on the lake. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful historic property. Recommend updating pictures and directions to boat dock. Very peaceful. Very pleasant seeing deer in yard every day. Friendly neighborhood. One suggestion is to put up an antenna so people can watch live TV also.

Family meeting in Norris area

Nice quiet neighborhood. Loved the screen porch. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was small but clean. Great place to walk down to the lake shore. We all enjoyed our stay.

Very, very relaxing stay with plenty of room for everyone... screened in porches were awesome. Hosts were quick to answer any questions and immediately addressed a concern with personal follow-up. Will be back...

The Owl House has a great front porch that we watched hundreds of deers from. We saw a scunk. The beach area is very nice. One could walk or drive to it. It's nice because it has great trees for shade but yet a sunny beach with dock. The location of the rental is not far from town. The rental is not directly on the lake and the lake view is very limited. The rental was not clean with mouse turds in the drawers, very messy and unorganized. The floor was very dirty. Stove top and oven were dirty, toys just thrown in a corner by a tv that didn't have volume. I wouldn't stay again because of the cleanliness but I will give the deer and beach access a 10.

Relaxing

This is a sweet property setting .Loved the nature feel. Lots of birds to hear on the wonderful screened in porch. This is a great place for family . We enjoyed each night playing board games with kids. Host was great meet any needs.

If you like Camping then you will enjoy The Owl House. If you like screened in porches with a water view then you have 2 to choose from. The Owl House is perfectly located in between Stardust Marina & Sequoyah Marina. Stardust definitely gets my vote for staff, entertainment & food!!! Their Fireworks display was top notch-can’t wait until next year!

Beautiful & Quaint

We stayed at the Owl House last weekend while we were in town for a wedding. We really enjoyed it! Owner was spot-on on the description. My husband and I slept on the king bed on the covered screened porch. It was so relaxing and enjoyed it very much! It brought me back to my childhood when I used to visit my grandparent's river house as a child! The Owl House is a true treasure!

Relaxing like camping indoors

The cottage is old with cool history!!! It is very airy like sleeping outdoors but out of the elements! Everything is there that you need- chairs, laundry, water toys, awesome screened in porch. Walking distance to marina and water (bring beach shoes for stones) beautiful waters though!! The owners communication is the best I have ever come across in all my rentals!!

Who who. Who doesn’t love owl house?

We have stayed here multiple times. I always look forward to sleeping in the outdoor room. Our group loves sitting on the screened in porch. The neighborhood is fantastic for taking a walk. Loads of deer every night. Only upgrade I want to see is a small shade for the far right window of the outdoor bedroom to block the street light one road away. It’s our annual place to stay at the lake. Great get away.

This Property was a total lie

1. no key or lockbox found as stated on the web, found an open door.2. Beds are too short - feet hang over the edge.3. The smell was ungodly, possibly mold - home homeowner said it was just from being closed up all winter.4. The wall in the kitchen was disconnected - looks like the stove was the only thing holding it up.5. The dock they show in pix isn't what you get. 6. Pix makes property look close to the water - it isn't.

Owl house is the perfect slice of paradise

Just want to say wow 🤩 this location is amazing. We drove from Tampa bay to Norris and so was worth it!!!! Charles was amazing great communication , everything you need to enjoy the simple things in life to get away from the chaos of the world this lovely cabin has it all 😊. While we stayed there the weather wasn’t perfection but better then the norm for us. We woke up to deer wandering in the yard, howling of coyotes at night and eagles 🦅 screaming in the afternoon, if that isn’t saying enough well then stay away. I give this cabin 10 stars ⭐️ . Thank you Charles for our wonderful stay you have a wonderful piece of heaven there on the lake . Highly recommend 😊🏠😍❤️

Peaceful cottage

We enjoyed our short getaway from the crowds and traffic of Nashville. It was a very cozy and comfortable cabin with a great view of the lake from the screened in porch. I thoroughly enjoyed eating on the porch or just sitting and relaxing. The walk to the lake was short and the directions for access were easy to follow. My daughter and I walked along the shore for some time. The sleeping porch was also very nice. It was huge and we enjoyed hearing the night sounds. The history of the alphabet cabin was also interesting. It is truly a lake cottage so don't expect fancy, it's provides low key comfort and privacy. The neighborhood is quiet and very nice. The kitchen is small but well stocked. The owners communicated so well and that was appreciated. We spent one day exploring Norris Dam State Park and area and another day at downtown Clinton at the Antique festival. There were other places nearby that we did not have time to visit because I loved hanging out at the cabin. If there was one thing that I would want them to add, it would be a fire pit. Otherwise, we loved it.

Not the cleanest but close to the marina.

Place was very close to the lake and also to Sequoia Marina which was nice but the online photos showed a boat dock which we thought we would have access to from at the property but unfortunately that was not the case? We expected to be on the older side but was very disappointed in how outdated and unclean the place actually was. Dust, cobwebs, spiders and bugs all over inside and the floors were so dirty. The bathroom sink and shower was also very dirty. In the living room we were afraid to sit on the outdated very dirty couch that had a slip cover over it so we would sit at the kitchen table in a couple of the wooden chairs (each chair had a fancy skeleton skull design on them). The outside porch was where we spent the majority of our time while during our time there in a couple of lawn chairs that we had to clean off before we could sit down because they were covered in dirt as well. On a positive note the land was beautiful with trees and nature all around in which we saw some deer. The neighborhood was nice as well. A kind suggestion would be to hire a better cleaner and definitely upgrade to a newer couch/furniture that makes your guests feel welcome.

Not quite what we were expecting

This house is old and has some charm, but leaves a lot to be desired. First, the “air conditioning” is a single window unit and doesn’t adequately cool the entire home. The owner has many box fans available, but that doesn’t count as air conditioning in my eyes. The Wi-Fi is a shared connection with the house next door and doesn’t really reach the house all that well. We had 1 bar of connection and that connection dropped constantly. The neighboring home Is very far away, so don’t count on any real internet connection in this home. We felt quite deceived to actually list it as a feature, similar to the air conditioning. Three of the beds, including the king are in an outside porch-like room. This room is not air conditioned so in mid-July when temps are 90 degrees, the beds are literally useless because it was hot and humid. The living area was spacious but there were no coffee tables or end tables at all, so we had to use our coolers to fit this purpose. Not ideal. The bathroom was very dated. The knob to the shower kept coming off and the shower was essentially a handheld that was mounted by a garage-style broom hook. The outside weeds were quite high and needed cutting. There were no pavers or sidewalks up to the front or back of the house. All in all, the house could be so much better with a few updates, particularly an additional AC unit, a reliable wi-fi connection, and more furniture. Without adding these items, I can’t really recommend this property. Positives: Washer and dryer worked and were handy. The front porch was nice to sit and relax. The hosts were friendly and prompt in their communication. This home has a lot of potential.

Thank you for your review. It is spot-on. The Owl House is a rustic cabin in the woods. If you are accustomed to a climate controlled environment it is not for you. If you like going to bed listening to the night noises of crickets, frogs and cicadas and wake up to birds chirping and the mist rising off of the lake, the king bed on the sleeping porch is absolute heaven and the front bedroom is a close second. It is in the country. Internet is sporadic but it is the best that is available. Connections in the area are at capacity. We are on the list for when it expands. We have just recently listed the house and it is a work in progress. Living room furniture is sparse. We continue to add and upgrade, however all of the beds and bedding are new.

WORST STAY EVER,

First, the “headline read Cabin ON Norris Kake. In fact the cabinwas Not on the lake, across he road from he lake He describing Al’s referred to a “view” of the lake bu this was deception even also because there we so many trees across the street that it onl allowed for “peek a boo” tiny view. There was not a working air conditioner, it was on the ; the overhead fan would only work on slow speed and rhe third fan would not work at all. This was particularly important because the master room was particularly important because it was very warm outside. There was also a screen that had come loose and needed repair which allowed for bugs to come in. My daughter was bitten by something during the night. The running water was not clear and was milky looking. So we bought bottled water; if there was a reasonabl explanation, the owner should have alerted the guests. Also there was a large concrete slab between the kitchen and living room which was ugly and made no sense; it was there in the middle of regular flooring. Every
