Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8), Separate Hot Tub house
Feel like you are in a 'tree house'...yet have a private double deck dock in a private cove! Whether you are a house-boater, skier, fisherman, sightseer, sunbather, or water sports lover, Norris Lake has it all. Norris Lake was created by the construction of the Norris Dam in 1936. This hydroelectric project was the Tennessee Valley Authority’s first. The lake’s beautiful blue-green waters span more than 800 miles of shoreline covering 34,000 acres. Norris’ boundaries extend up the Clinch and Powell rivers which feed Norris with clear, pristine waters. It’s an ideal environment for sportsmen and vacationers alike.
This home is situated in a beautiful cove on Lake Norris. It has 2 bedrooms and the basement is a bunk area/game room. The upstairs has a king size bed in one of the rooms and the other room has a queen size bed, one full bathroom with shower/and tub , separate private hot tub house, porch, stairs to the dock, basement area with couches/queen bed, 1 single bed with trundle single under both the beds in the basement bunk area. There is high speed internet and TV's both upstairs and in the bunk room. Washer and Dryer are downstairs.
Enjoy the beautiful wildlife, private setting, swimming, boat slip, jet ski slip, lots of lounge chairs, fishing.... all you need to relax and 'get away' from it all!
Please be aware that there are 250 +/- steps from the cabin to the dock (and back up again!!). Well worth the effort to get there and back, but we like to be sure our customers know this before committing to the rental.
Closest marinas by car are Whitman Hollow Marina and Indian River Marina, and by boat--Sequoyah Marina is closest. Boat rentals are available at all three of these marinas.

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY WELL MAINTAINED
STAYED HERE FOR OUR HONEYMOON HAD AN ABSOLUTE AMAZING TIME. HOUSE WAS GREAT HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED FOR A WEEK STAY, LITERALLY JUST BRING FOOD AND YOUR SET. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS ALL AROUND. DIDNT LIKE IT ONLY HAD ONE BATHROOM WHICH ONLY HAVING TWO OF US WASN'T BAD BUT IF MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE MAYBE AN ISSUE. DOCK WAS SUPER FUN SPOT GREAT PLACE TO RELAX ALL DAY, YOU COULD NOT HAVE HAD A BOAT AND HAD A REALLY GOOD TIME JUST HANGING AT THE DOCK ALL WEEK. QUIET COVE ON THE LAKE BASICALLY HAVE IT ALL TO YOURSELF VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC IN THIS COVE. STAIRS FROM HOUSE TO DOCK WERE THE ONLY DOWNFALL THEY WERE DO ABLE BUT EXTREMELY TOUGH TO CLIMB VERY STEEP, NOT THAT THEY WERE NOT MAINTAINED OR BUILT WELL JUST ALOT OF THEM AND EXTREMELY STEEP, IF NOT IN SHAPE WOULDN'T WANT TO EVEN TRY TO CLIMB THEM. ALL AROUND SUPER WORTH IT FOR THE PRICE WE PAID COMPARED TO OTHER HOUSES IN AREA VERY GREAT DEAL.
Worth the walk
Fantastic place! The house is a bit cramped, but hey, we didn't come to sit in the house. The dock is by far the nicest dock we've ever been on. Great secluded location, close to marinas and close to I-75. Blazing fast internet, clean and comfortable. We had 2 adults and 4 teenagers (13-18 yrs old) and had no problems. Chuck was great to deal with and was always quick to reply. We will definitely come back.
We chose this property because of the dock and the lake and we were delighted with both!
What a beautiful lake! This property sits in a nice cove where boats aren't very interested in investigating. And the lake and shore was so clean! I felt like the grandkids were safe in the water all the time. We packed our lunch every day and went down to the dock and stayed until the sun was behind the mountain. The weather was wonderful. And when we went back up to the house we played in the hot tub.
We had 8 people (5 adults, 3 kids) in a 2 bedroom 1 bath house and all of us were comfortable all the time. The owners have certainly thought through the layout and use of the house and have made the most of it. We enjoyed the deck and ate most of our meals on the deck.
We knew before we arrived that there were a lot of stairs to get to the lake. But because none of us had ever seen 265 stairs in one place before we really didn't realize what we were in for. It is truly A LOT of stairs! But we congratulated ourselves every day for making it down the stairs and then making it back up the stairs. By the end of the vacation our muscles didn't hurt near as much as they did the first and second day.
We planned ahead for the week and each adult committed to fixing dinner one night. We planned those meals as well as breakfast, lunch and snacks, and we brought the food we needed so we could just stay put. And that's exactly what we did. We didn't need to leave the whole time we were there. I would suggest people consider that because it takes a little while to get to Jacksboro.
Every day one of my kids made a comment about how much fun this was. My grandchildren became big fish! We had a great vacation and have already decided we want to make it an annual event!
I really appreciate the effort the owners have put into making sure people are comfortable in their house. Thank you! We had a blast!
Nonie - thank you so much for the awesome review, and we are so, so happy you had such an awesome vacation! And, like most of our guests, you went back home in better shape than when you arrived!! We look forward to having you back, and glad you love Norris Lake as much as we do.
Great house and dock!
Enjoyed by everyone in our family. Would definitely go back! Highly recommend.
Awesome secluded vacation spot
The place was beautiful. The air conditioning quit working but Chuck had someone there the next day to fix. The stairs definitely tests your cardio skills but was worth the view. Great place.
You can use this home as a 'hub' for multiple houseboats. Use the dock to cater events! BBQ ribs on the dock! Grill on the dock-- we have also rented several houseboats and used the house, and the dock for the perfect family reunion. Ask us how and we will help you coordinate such an event! From getting the houseboats to the cove ...to provisioning them.
