Comfortable, well-equipped and convenient to lots of what NW Michigan has to offer

  • 5 of 5

We felt comfortable and at home pretty much immediately. This rental home isn't fussed over--it's actually rather dated in some ways--but very much a great place to come inside and relax. The home was very clean and everything was in excellent working order. The home is also abundantly supplied, making groceries about the only thing we needed to provide. Our late September visit coincided with unusually warm 90-degree weather, but the shady location and ceiling and box fans helped keep the home sufficiently cool. Being just a few hundred feet from the shore of Green Lake was a delight; in just a minute we could be at the lake deck or in the lake to cool off--and like all of the waters we saw in that part of Michigan, you could see everything underfoot because the water was sparkling clear. Sunsets were spectacular (though we were on the wrong side of the lake to see the sun itself), and if you want to see the Milky Way after dark, this is a great place for that. The home's owner was a very gracious (if geographically remote) host and provided very useful, detailed information a few days ahead of our visit. This was our first trip to the NW part of Michigan, and due to our experience at the rental home in Interlochen and the wonderful surroundings to explore, we will be returning to the area someday to see more. Thank you!

Blissfully situated

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is blissfully situated with an incredibly peaceful view. Even the neighbors were pleasant. Excellent fishing. Cabin was very clean and artfully decorated. Owner very easy to deal with. Town and Traverse City very close by. Highly recommended! Only thing we would improve on was kitchen lighting. But again, our age group was 50s to 70s.

Peaceful and Perfect June 30th - July 8th 2017

  • 5 of 5

Needed a place to stay near Traverse City for a week, where step-daughter had a dance competition. This cabin was perfect for our unique situation. We have two families trying our best to co-parent and support our girl! We actually had a great time! The cabin accommodated 7 people very nicely (4 adults and 3 kids). The front porch had a great view of the lake. The Cabin has two canoes which was really fun! The owners responded very quickly and very helpful. The Cabin has no AC, but fans are provided, screens on all windows and really the cabin kept a nice temperature, but would warm up if you used the oven or dryer. Since we stayed for a week the washer and dryer came in handy. The cabin had plenty of utensils and basic cookware. I would recommend this cabin for anyone looking to relax and enjoy some time away with their family, but still needed to feel like home!

Beautiful and Convenient Location

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much! The big front porch overlooking the lake was a favorite spot to hang out. There was a community dock for swimming and fishing, and a boat dock/area if you bring your own boat. We had several great day trips to Traverse City (highly recommend North Peak Brewery for great food as well as beer), Fish Town on Leenlenau Peninsula which included some wine tasting along the way (Black Star Winery was our favorite), and lunch at the Jolly Pumpkin Brewery out on the deck that has a million dollar view. We also enjoyed tubing and water skiing as well as canoeing. The accommodations were very good, but we did find the twin beds to be a bit lumpy and the pots and pans in great need of replacement. With that said, the cottage was perfect for our needs, the view from the front porch beautiful, and the location terrific.
