Situated at the point of a short peninsula road, this dog-friendly retreat features a private dock that can fit up to four different watercraft with no tide restrictions on access. Make some friends on the water? Invite them over for a barbecue on your furnished deck while boats sail out for sunset and osprey dive for their dinner. And do more than watching the water: swim off the dock or go for an adventure paddle up the seven-mile Bass River. Grab your fishing rods and cast off from the dock. Enjoy the beauty of the river estuary in every part of the day. The rental features a full kitchen and living room space and magnificent views from your living room chair or your deck chair.

Perfect location! Absolutely love the deck and views. The only thing that positively needs improvement is the TV! No cable/antenna, can't get NE sports, national news. At the end of the day (after the sunset) it's nice to watch the game or news, or movie. Otherwise, an ideal vacation home!!

The setting for this house could not be better! Enjoy the sunrise, then watch the birds throughout the day. In the evening the seal, and even a dolphin, came near the back deck to entertain us! Wonderful outdoor spaces

We truly enjoyed our stay. This is an amazing property, with serene water front views. The home was clean, but old. It wasn't fancy but we had all the basics we needed. Beds were comfortable, sheets and bedding were clean, towels looked almost brand new. We would stay here again for sure.

But a few windows were unable to be opened Key to the garage to get out kayaks was missing lots of debris and trash near outside shower that should have r been cleaned up prior to our arrival by the cleaning company- this house had a big cleaning fee!!

Great location; some issues

Here is the entire list of issues with the rental on Captain Peavy Street in W. Dennis:1. Bedroom Window AC smells- suggest you replace with a like unit that is in the living room. 2. E-lock pad is not operational- video provided is of a different type device.My sister in law rented from you last year and also had problems with the front door.3. Bathroom tub was dirty, dead roach found.4. More kitchen items should be available- only 2 trash bags, 1 paper towel (1/2 roll), refrigerator door dirty/stained.5. TV instruction- a simple short description how to use one or both remotes. Nos. 1,2, and 5 were disappointing and frustrating.

The view is outstanding

Loved the view& the location was great. We got to see fireworks right from the deck which was a treat. The kitchen was not clean enough at all and the beds are very hard! The bedrooms were set up great and the bathrooms were clean. The house did have a musty smell so we had to air it out even though it was only 50 degrees that day. The owners need to leave a list of where to find things like outside trash, how to work the mini split ... Overall i would stay again off season if those issues were corrected.

The house is very old and weathered looking. The wallpaper in the bedrooms and hallway is peeling off the walls. We had no heat in the main room nor TV. The beds were horrific. We actually left early to come home to Connecticut. The worst vacation ever. Very disappointed.

Beautiful location!

We loved the location on the end of the dead end street. We had a great view of the salt marsh and truly enjoyed watching the boats go in and out. The mini-split did a wonderful job of cooling the house down at night. The breeze through the open window was amazing which was needed because the biggest detractor was the smell of mildew. It went away with the open windows and use of the mini-split. This might be because the house is a little on the older side. That said the beds were comfortable. The kitchen and grill had everything we needed to cook for ourselves and make ourselves at home. The location was central to beaches and shopping. We brought my 90yo mom and she was able to easily move around and access everything in the house using her walker. I would have given 5 star if not for the smell.

Stunning view

The views from this house will take your breath away. We had blue skies and sunshine in September. It was after Labor Day, so I can’t speak for the traffic etc in season. The house’s main living room was bright and it appears there are new windows and paint to capture the view at its best. The neighborhood is adorable and walkable if you have a dog. The main bedroom has a sliding glass door with a view to die for. The interior is a beach home rental chic…ie, It has what you need, basic furniture, good water pressure, one TV. If you need to watch TV here, you are missing the big picture. Someone else posted a good recommendation…open the windows and let the cross breezes do their thing. Outdoor deck is fantastic …sip your coffee or cocktail and watch the sun rise or set.

Family Beach Get-Away

Stayed 5 nights with my family - 4 adults plus grandchild (5 years old). Wonderful location, excellent view. Close to the West Dennis beach - less than 5 minutes by car, I enjoyed walking there each morning (about a mile one way). Items in the kitchen could use updating; the refrigerator drawer pull is broken, and the piece that would hold larger bottles on the door is missing. There wasn't a can opener nor really any baking sheets (for reheating leftovers, etc.) Minor issues I know. Also, given my family came in from California, we were surprised there were no beach towels or chairs provided. Overall good experience, but a few additions would make it much better.

Love this home, disappointed past two trips in past month. 1. Size of TV insane, no bigger than Computer screen was without service last trip and have to log in with personal info. 2. Old toaster worked briefly yesterday, not today. 3. Outdated coffee maker-no coffee filters provided. No surface cleaner left to cleanup after outselves (little to no supplies for quests). Family of foxes living under property; screaming at 3 am stuck in big hole under property both times we rented. Concerned about safety of guest and animals alike. For the price to stay some simple upgrades need to be made. Have been renting this home for past 4 years...disappointing to say the least.

Great view BUT…..

The view is amazing but the rest of the house needs major updates. 1) air conditioners inadequate for that size house. 1 didnt work. Windows open have a great breeze but then up with the dawn at 5am!! And wind blows the shades into the wall. 2). Deck chairs are numerous but cant sit in them more than 20minutes without butt going numb. 3) rugs curl up so tripping hazards. 4) house was dirty. Food left in drawers. Plates dirty. 5) inadeqaute basic cleaning supplies. 6). Amenities listed were locked in garage. 7). Beds were terrible. Hard and very old. Pillows were old and borderline disgusting. If it wasnt for the view we would have left day 2… for what we paid it should have been way better. With some basic upgrades this place would be a gem!! Neighborhood was nice to walk in.

November in West Dennis

Beautiful property, calm and amazing views, including sunrise which is not to be missed. A recent previous tenant reviewed that there was no heat in the common room, which was *not* the case. There is a split unit to heat the room (but no instructions on site, which may have helped this renter). Additionally she mentioned peeling wallpaper. As a long-time renter at The Cape, I found the little bit that was not adhering to be very minor (typical in a high humidity beach area) and wouldn't have noticed it if not for the October review. Fairly well appointed kitchen, which was helpful since the four of us plus baby were eating in for all meals in our four-night stay. I was disappointed with the property manager having called on Night 1 (Thursday) regarding a horrible, vibrating sound from the refrigerator, and we were finally visited by a worker mid-afternoon on Sunday. Fortunately, the noise and vibration ended after two hours and I didn't need to call for follow-up; but Vacasa should have reached out sooner than Day 4 to either check on status or apprise me of timing. The home was very clean and beds were comfortable. Lovely, walkable neighborhood close to beaches. Pictures in listing are accurate.

Shortly after we arrived at the cottage, we found out we were sharing it with four foxes. Trying to get somebody on the phone to come out took an enormous amount of time. At one point they told me to call animal control and I asked them who is going pay for that. I took videos of the foxes climbing all over the porch, the fence, the grass four foxes in total. After several attempts, finally a man came. I was told there were no reports of foxes on this property. However, this man had been there the week before when a different family was staying there. We were never told they were foxes at the house. We have a dog. The dog could not go out in the yard, sit on the deck, or play down on the water. After the inspection, I continued to call because the foxes is continued to be a problem. At one point, we were told to make noise and they would go away this for the price we were paying. It was a total disruption to our vacation. Along with these distractions the beds were uncomfortable, there was no cable or TV at all, the dishes left a lot to be desired and the outdoor furniture and entryway into the outdoor shower were unacceptable. The bottom line is we should be compensated for the disruption of our vacation. I will be posting this on Facebook and Yelp as well as on a few other site as a place not to visit. I was really disappointed in the follow up, sense of urgency, as well as the amount of time it took for responses. We should absolutely be compensated for our vacation.
