Our home is right in the heart of wine country and overlooks the lake from the east side, so the views are amazing and the sunsets are often filled with spectacular colors. Set among summer cottages and homes in a rustic/country-style neighborhood, our property has 70 feet of spacious lake frontage and a 10 foot wide dock. Depending on the weather and day of the week, the atmosphere on this uncongested lake ranges from calm and peaceful to joyful and fun.
Our home is fully furnished and features an Arts & Crafts-style living room. The master bedroom, living room, and especially the dining room (with its eight windows) have broad views of the lake/sunsets. The community areas are large too (living room: 17' x 22', kitchen and dining room: 22' x 22'). Up to six people can sleep comfortably in the three bedrooms with two queen and two twin beds. The kitchen is fully stocked and the house has air conditioning. There is enough parking for two or three vehicles.
Just outside the house is an intimate yard with a gas grill and a patio set that has cushioned seats and an umbrella. On the lakefront, there's a bonfire ring and a picnic table with an umbrella. You can borrow the owner's 2 kayaks, peddle boat, and row boat, as well as use the camp chairs that are kept in the boat shed. There's something for everyone, including swimming, boating, kayaking, long walks along a dirt road through vineyards, fishing, and romantic evenings watching the sunset and drinking local wine.

- access to the lake frontage from the yard is by way of a sturdy staircase or by a short road that goes around the neighborhood (about 1/4 mile to our frontage). The staircase has about 75 steps. The run for the steps is 11 inches, which is nice, and there are three decks with benches, in case anyone needs to rest or wants to see the view. It's also very handy to be able to drive down if you're carrying coolers, towels, etc., or are taking some small kids down all at once. The road is for limited use, especially on crowded weekends, but it is there when needed.

Fantastic weekend away
We had such a wonderful stay! The house fit our group of 4 perfectly. Plenty of space. Clean. We loved the dock area by the lake! Plenty of chairs available to sit and relax by the lake and fire pit. It was nice to have the paddle boat and kayaks to float around on. The house is close to a lot wineries and not too far from Watkins Glen. Mary was very responsive. We would love to come back and stay again!
Beautiful Area, Nice Hosts
We enjoyed our time in the Finger Lakes, and our stay at this property. There are many wineries nearby, as well as some great places to hike.
The kitchen, dining room, and living room are large, and the house was really clean and comfortable. We made several family dinners and breakfasts at the house, and found that the kitchen had everything we needed, for sure. There's a fenced-in yard around the house, which made it nice because we had our dogs in the the yard off-leash when we were grilling out and eating at the patio set.
We would definitely recommend this house and stay there again. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
Comfortable Home, Beautiful View
This house was bigger than we expected, and the views of the lake and sunsets were gorgeous. We felt very comfortable and relaxed. Mary was easy to deal with and helpful to me when I was planning our trip. I found it helpful that she provided information on the restaurants in the area. We liked the Stonecat Cafe and Danos a lot. We enjoyed the local wineries too, and had a nice hike at Taughannock Falls, south of Trumansburg. I plan to return to the same place this Fall, and I would highly recommend it to my friends.
Great Vacation Home!
When we first arrived, we were happy to see the beautiful view of the lake from the house. It was so much nicer than we expected, and the first sunset we saw was very colorful and dramatic. The house was well-maintained, clean, and we really felt at-home there. The hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodating.
For us, one the major highlights was having access to the kayaks, and we made good use of them. We spent quite a bit of time down on the lake frontage because we made bonfires down there both evenings. I really don't have any complaints at all, and would recommend this property to others for sure.
A Stay on Seneca
Overall, the stay was pleasant. It is a typical lake house that has lots of room.
The weather was so beautiful however, we wanted to spend most of it outdoors. But unfortunately, the outdoor furniture was not clean and the cushions were full of bugs and dirt, despite being put away in an outdoor bin. The exterior of the house was also full of spider webs and spiders in every corner, along every exterior wall, including the entryway. It wasn't comfortable to be around all that. All the windows had webs and spiders on the outside.
Having the beautiful lake to the West, we hoped to take in the Lake air with opening windows. But all but one kitchen window(and there were approx 7) were broken and could not be opened with big signs on them, "Do Not Open." This was a huge disappointment.
Having one bathroom was fine being that there were only 2 of us, then 4 for the 2nd night. But the pressure in the water was very weak. Ugh....what a nice hot shower can do to help one relax.
The lakeside dock and fire pit were the best part! Close to the water and peddle boat was a fun treat. The stairs to the lakeside below are sturdy. Unfortunately, none of the lighting, that illuminated the stairs, worked.
Thank you for your feedback. We didn't realize that the water pressure has been weak. That's not normal for this house, so we will look at that right away, and get it back up to a good pressure. We will be sure to clean the patio set cushions and table right away too, as well as the spider webs on the outside of the house, especially around the entrance.
Please note that there are two screen doors in the kitchen/dining room that provide for a great cross-breeze to flow, so when the doors are open, I would imagine many of our guests don't really feel a strong need to open the eight windows in the dining room. They do provide for an amazing view though.
A Wonderful Vacation on the Lake
We were very happy with this rental. The lake frontage has a short dock with swimming, fishing, and boating (two kayaks and a row boat). It was very peaceful and quiet when we were there. The area has a lot of wineries, several micro-breweries (Wagner, Lucky Hare, and Two Goats), and excellent restaurants nearby. It's a wonderful vacation spot, and we're telling our friends this is a great area for vacationing and a great place to stay.
The surrounding area is incredibly dense with wineries overlooking the lake. You can have a great time touring the area and tasting wines. There are 10 wineries and a brewery within a 10 minute drive, and one winery within walking distance.
