Enjoy lakefront living at its best on the best lake around!

Great Bear Lake is one of the nicest all sport lakes in Southwest Michigan. With and average depth of 30 feet and a clean sandy bottom.

Boat:
Pontoon Boat will be included with your stay (5 night minimum from June-September)
Guests will be responsible to fill gas tank upon departure.(Gas cans will be provided).

*****We will no longer be allowing renters to bring Jet Ski’s or Speedboats or any other watercraft. The lake isn’t really ideal for Jet Skis****. We understand if this doesn’t work for some people but we don’t want to be liable for one of our families or neighbors being involved in an accident due to renters that don’t follow the laws set by DNR.

Boat:
Pontoon Boat will be included with your stay (5 night minimum from June-September)

If you want to fish, please bring your own fishing gear. Fishing is great! Catch Largemouth, Perch, Northern, Bluegill, and Crappie right off of the dock. 16 and older will need to purchase a fishing license.
Fire pit = There will be enough firewood to last all week (If you need more, there will be an extra $50.00 charge)
Grill= Charcoal (you will need to provide your own charcoal)

Beds: You will have plenty places to sleep and relax. All of our beds are clean and have zip-up waterproof mattress covers on them. There are also covers on the pillows as well. Most of the beds have brand new memory foam mattresses. We have a couple regular pillow top mattresses as well. There are plenty of clean linens.

Grand Junction Great Bear Lake Vacation

My family had such a great time at our Grand Junction Vacation. The owner was awesome! He responded promptly to any questions that we had. The house fit our needs perfectly. The lake was not that large but we did enjoy our boat rides on the pontoon. Swimming was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Such a wonderful place and host!! We had the best family week being lake people with sand castles, swimming, pontoon, fishing, kayaking, and campfires! The house is perfect for a bigger group like ourselves (10 adults and 3 grandkids) with loads of sleeping options. Chris was the most responsive host with very quick replies to any questions! Welll stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators and nice seating for meals inside and outside made staying in for all meals a breeze. We also enjoyed the bike trail nearby into South Haven. Again, such a perfect place and thank you to Chris for sharing his slice of paradise with us!!

Great place for families

Everything was organized and labeled. So many activities all over the property inside, and out for kids and adults. The boat and swim pad were big hits along with the ping pong, kayaks and paddle boards. The beach was perfect for young kids. We all had a great time!!!

Lovely lake house option

From the time we booked a year ago for our kids and their children to join us for a relaxing vacation, the communication and property information was seamless and very much as described. Excellent experience and would book the property again if the opportunity came up.

Amazing home in the perfect location

We had such an amazing time. The home was equipped with everything you need and some! The location couldn’t been any better. Right on the lake with all the water equipment that you and the family need. The pontoon boat great too. We would highly recommend this place. And would certainly stay here again. This property is fabulous! Host was attentive and prompt to respond to our questions. Everything you need is here! More amenities than we could use in a week! So much fun

We were a family group of 6 kids aged 4-12 and 8 adults. We had an amazing time here. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The pontoon boat, kayaks and paddle boards were a big hit. Annual family time at the lake

Our family of 8 adults and 9 children had the best time in your home. So much for the kids to do and places for them to sleep. The fishing off the dock was amazing. Your grounds with the swing, hammock, fire pit and string lights were so pretty too. Thank you Chris for your quick response whenever we had any questions. So sad you are already booked for next year in the same week. Our family loved it.

Great Bear Lake in Michigan

Beautiful home with many many extras. The babies played at the beach. The middles/bigs used the kayaks and paddleboard‘s and the seniors use the pontoon boat. With evening campfires, we spent most of the day outside in wonderful August weather. But there were many possibilities for indoor entertainment if the weather hadn’t cooperated. Exploring the house was a lot of fun …and I’m sure there were many extras that we have not yet discovered.

Wonderful place for our anniversary reunion.

Just a suggestion-glass plates are impractical. Just get more dishwasher safe plastic ones. We would put a pic of the hall to the upstairs on the Vrbo ad. We purchased a gate to keep little ones on the first floor. Didn’t need to. Having the boat was a definite plus. Had a great time with our neighbors. Thanks for opening your home’

Perfect Family Vacation

This is our second time visiting this lake but first time staying at this property and it was AMAZING!! It is clear how much thought and preparation the host has put into this house to ensure their guests have a great visit. Plenty of room for our family to enjoy meals, games and movie nights together. Lots of fun aspects that the kids enjoyed like ping pong in the garage, shuffle board in the upstairs den, the hook and ring game on the back deck, swings/hammocks hanging from trees and the hidden loft over the hallway. The lake is beautiful and we loved our daily boat/kayak rides. Plenty of beach/water toys that kept the kids entertained for hours everyday. Very relaxing and peaceful trip! This is our second time renting from this host and both times he has been engaged, extremely friendly and very responsive. Highly recommend and hope to keep the tradition going by coming back in another two years!!

Great cabin/house on a quiet private lake

We had 11 people ranging from 2 to 61 with plenty of room for more. Fantastic amenities inside and out, all in great shape! Outside there are kayaks, paddle boards, a pontoon boat, beach toys, outside games, fire pit, grill, hammock and swing - all were used! Inside the house is fully equipped and organized with labels so you can easily find things and know where to return them. We had some rainy, windy, chilly weather so the abundance of indoor games and the ping pong table were appreciated. Chris and Julie were fantastic hosts! They were quick to respond to some questions we had and even provided a personal touch when they found out it was our 40th anniversary. Good people who take pride in their home and sharing it with others!

Great Lake Trip

We had a blast at this lake house. So many great lake toys from kayaks, paddle boards and splash-pad. Great fire pit and lawn area and the beach and sand entry to the lake were amazing. One of the best beaches we have ever had at a lake house in Michigan. The house was in fantastic shape and tons of games and books for the kids to play with when we had a few rainy mornings. Very clean and everything was very well labeled. Can't wait to come back next year. Owner was very quick to respond to texts while we were there. Had some issues with low water pressure and hot water, but owner was always in constant contact and is working to resolve the issues. Would say more good things about the place, but don't want you to book the dates we want next year. ;)

Wonderful Memories on Great Bear Lake

We had a terrific week at this lovely home on Great Bear Lake. The home was spotless, nicely decorated and had everything that we needed. There were even labeled bins and cabinets to make things easier to find. The teacher influence was greatly appreciated! We had 4 little ones and 7 adults. There was plenty of room for all. The toddlers enjoyed their nightly sleepover in the "tent" upstairs. There are so many things that made our stay enjoyable. Here are some of the top items: beautiful beach with good sand, flat yard, plenty of kayaks & paddle boards for all, yard toys, outside shower and of course, the ping pong table! The owner; Chris was very attentive and always responded quickly before and during our stay. He even made a special trip to the house to replace a faucet that went on the fritz while we were there. Thanks for the memories Chris & Julie! Hope to see you next year!

Great stay at the house!

This was our first stay at the house and we were extremely pleased. When we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful plantings / garden and how the yard was well manicured and taken care of. Once inside we were impressed on how very clean and well kept it was. Inside: There was beautiful woodwork throughout. Spacious and comfortable areas for hanging out, playing games and eating /dining for our crew. We took advantage of the 2 full sized fridges. There was even a work area for one of family members who had to work remotely, which was nice. Fun stuff: The ping pong and shuffleboard tables were a hit. Lots of comfortable outdoor seating with great views of the lake. The small sandy beach area along with numerous toys was a big hit with the kids. And plenty of seating for adults to keep an eye on them. A lot of us took advantage of the kayaks on the lake. The large floating pad and pontoon boat were likewise a big hit. There were plenty of life preservers for all sizes and ages. A couple of us used the kayaks and the dock to some fishing. The fire pit was nice for a peaceful evening of “smores”. Chris was great to work with – quick and responsive.

Great Bear Lake

Chris’s property was clean, well organized, stocked with kayaks, paddle boards, a pontoon boat, yard games, beach toys for smaller kiddo… Our crew had many fishermen and they had great success catching bass from the lake. The backyard also boasts a Bonfire pit stocked with wood, plenty of chairs, extra chairs and s’more spears. There are also outdoor tree lights, a hammock and a tree swing are located under the mature maple trees. There are also two large outdoor tables for additional opportunities to enjoy summer on the lake. The interior is beautifully decorated as a log cabin lake house, fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms, everything has its place and is labeled so you can return them to their proper location. The garage was converted to a ping pong room with a wrap around couch, large fan to Stay cool, extra refrigerator, blue tooth speaker…. Hours of fun had by teens and adults. Chris was wonderful to work with. He answered my questions right away and was very friendly and accommodating to our family. We highly recommend this lake rental if you want a fabulous property to enjoy with a large family.

Family Fun

Our stay on Great Bear Lake in this wonderful lake house was all that was expected and more! 10 kids under 13 and 9 adults had no trouble finding room for everyone. We never even used all the indoor entertainment; we spent most of our time outside. Just steps away was the sandy beach and a nice sized lake perfect for even the three year olds to splash in the shallow shore, while the older kids (and adults) enjoyed hours on the splash pad, kayaking, and mastering the paddle boards. The pontoon boat was great for leisurely enjoying the lake. We were even treated to a Boat Parade one night! Our fishermen drowned lots of worms! The kitchen was fully equipped with almost everything you could need. The grill helped round out our meals. The fire pit was huge, and even though it was quite hot we had a fire most nights, consuming way too many s'mores! We were too tired from enjoying all the outdoor activity to enjoy a lot from the huge game cabinet, but the kids did manage to watch one of the many TVs. I can't tell you how many times someone said to me "we have to come here again"! Thank you Chris for being just a text away at all times and bending over backwards to make this rental a perfect vacation get away!

The perfect cabin for a large group!

This house totally exceeded our expectations! We had plenty of room for our group of 10. It was perfect for my elderly parents too - just a few steps and my dad could get down to the beach no problem with his cane. Other great features you don't see in the pictures..... ceiling fans in every room, a cupboard FULL of games/cards, hammock out back, they even had electrical down at the firepit (think teenagers charging their phones.... LOL) The only thing I'm glad we brought was a couple camping chairs - this made it easy to move them along the lot so you could stay in the shade all day (if you want!) I loved that the property had sun and shade available all day. There was also plenty of seating on the deck, at the firepit and down at the beach. We rented the boat - it was old and not great, but it worked so we were happy to get out a cruise and anchor in the middle for a swim as well. The lake was not crowded during the week which was very peaceful. We even got my teenage nephews off their electronics for a bit and on the paddle boards! Seriously this owner thought of everything - we really didn't need to bring anything! He was very friendly and helpful the ENTIRE time! You are renting from a fantastic family!! Even the neighbors are friendly :) Thanks Chris for a great stay - we plan to be back!
