About Frank Nubelo

We currently live in Stuart, Fl. My wife and I both work for the school system and try to spend as much time as possible in the mountains.

Why Frank Nubelo chose Smoky Mountains

This area is absolutely beautiful! Just driving to an activity is part of the vacation, scenic routes everywhere. You will love the cabin, very comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. You can spend the morning just sitting on the large porches enjoying the view!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi All,

We had a wonderful visit at your cabin. Thanks again for sharing.

We were there for the MINIs on the Dragon annual event which is Fontana-based.

What a perfect location! Close by but just far enough away from all the MINI commotion :)

And thanks for the great weather!

We're already talking about next year. Hope the timing is right and your cabin is available again.

Promise i'll stay here again

  • 5 of 5

The wife and I had our daughter, her husband, and our 2 nieces on this trip. Most of our time was traveling the parkways, visiting the towns within 75 miles of the cabin and attempting to hike some of the shorter trails. Tired and wore out in the evenings returning to the cabin was great. Some of the easiest roads that we drove on the trip was the last 10 miles back to the cabin. If you have drove down here you will understand what I mean. The cabin was beautiful and very clean and well kept. We got groceries at town 9 miles away and was able to save a little money by cooking breakfast and supper in the fully equipped kitchen. Great little yard with a pond that helped wear the nieces on out in the evenings. Wrap around porch with ample seating so we all could sit out their and enjoy the evenings. The beds were very nice. My job involves answering a phone taking road complaints issues and it was very nice looking at my cell phone and not having any service. Did have a land line so we were able to keep in touch with family. Had WiFi at the house so we could keep up if we wanted to with the world events. The owners gave us all the information we needed to have a wonderful stay and I'll promise if I make the trip this way I'll be staying here again if it's not already rented out. Ďanny Clark. Very happy renter

Perfect Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My three kids and I just spent a week at this cabin near Robbinsville and didn't want to leave. It was very comfortable, very clean, quiet and lovely, had everything we needed and was very well located. We did an outing every day at 10 to 30 minutes from the cabin and had so much more on our list! We recommend Fontana Lake, where we swam a couple of times at just 10 minutes from the cabin. We did white-river rafting on the Nantahalla river, just 20 minutes away, which was amazing (tried to go back for a canopy tour but didn't make it). We drove 25 minutes away to the Yellow Creek Falls, which were beautiful and secluded. We reached them after a short 20 minute hike. We also went to Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, 35 minutes away. Easy hikes, not many people, beautiful forest with giant poplar trees, just gorgeous. We stopped at the Santeetlah lake on the way and also swam there. Finally, we visited the Fontana Dam, very impressive, walked a bit on the Appalachian trail, which you find at different places around the area...I cannot wait to go back and I will certainly consider renting that same cabin again. You can take walks from the cabin itself too, which we did every day, and the view from the porches are gorgeous too. Loved everything.

I called Frank and Kathy a couple of times with questions and they answered immediately, were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this rental to family and friends.
