About Kathy Eckles
I love welcoming guests to our home! I grew up outside of Cleveland and have lived on Cape Ann since 1997 when I purchased this home. My first career was as a senior executive in the retail industry for 24 years. I now provide psychology, coaching and consulting services for individuals and organizations.
Kathy Eckles purchased this House in 1997
Why Kathy Eckles chose Gloucester
Cape Ann is inspiring. I love the sea, huge rocks, and rugged, genuine people. Once I knew I wanted to move here, I had a dream in which I saw the exact same view we have overlooking the inner harbor, so the moment I walked into this home, I knew I was in the right place.
What makes this House unique
Especially love the entire back of the house - kitchen, family room, sunroom, outdoor porch and master bedroom. As they all overlook the inner harbor, there's a peaceful sense of being steeped in the vibrant blend of beauty and everyday life.

One of owners two primary residences in area. Impressive effort is made to make the space, welcoming, comfortable, as well as equipped with all a visitor could need to cook full meals, as well as relax on sun porch, in open family room, or play a baby grand piano. Ample, clear, information of area is provided with lots of thoughtful reviews of restaurants and a variety of attractions. Bed is comfortable. Guest must be able to manage two steep flights of stairs.
Quiet in town neighborhood. Comfortable bed.
Beautiful inside and out!
Each time I have stayed at this beautiful well appointed home, I have appreciated not only the wonderful views of the harbor, sea breezes, and sun rises but also the attention to detail inside and out. Whether it is the well kept gardens, the open floorplan on the first floor, or the comfortable and airy bedrooms on the second floor; Kathy's little touches make a big difference. Fresh flowers upon your arrival, a list of places of interest with contact information, the peaceful yet interesting decor, cleanliness, room for a crowd but also places for cozy conversations all add up to a wonderful place to stay.
comfortable home with great view
This is the 2nd time my grandchildren and I have stayed at this home. It is large, and comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious and nicely furnished.......The sunroom is where we spent a lot of time playing games and doing home work when we were not out and about. The house is centrally located. We love the house and the owner is gracious and helpful. We will be back !
This house is perfect!
Our family of five returned to Gloucester to the same rental where we stayed two years ago. It is ideally located in town for restaurants, ice cream, the Maritime Center, etc. Kathy's house is extremely comfortable with beautiful views. It's clean, well-kept and feels warm and welcoming. The area provides plenty of activities to keep everyone busy and happy. We got up for low tide at Good Harbor Beach to enjoy the hermit crabs and walk to Salt Island. We visited the wildlife refuge, drove 3 miles up the road to Rockport, spent a day at Crane Beach and took the train to Boston too. Just an ideal spot!
Beautiful house in a very convenient location.
The house was gorgeous and fully equipped with everything, including plenty of beach chairs, towels, coolers, maps, and informational brochures. Kathy was very friendly and helpful, and happy to answer any questions or provide recommendations. The house is in a fantastic location close to downtown Gloucester, so you can walk to pretty much everything in the city. We had a great stay, I highly recommend this property.
As advertized. Home was beautiful with awesome views. Within walking distance to many attractions
We had a wonderful vacation in Gloucester. Kathy was an excellent host. She gave us lots of great info about the area and touched based to make sure we had what we needed. We will be back.
Gloucester is the oldest working seaport and art colony in America, and prides herself on not being 'touristy'. This is also one of the top five whale watching areas in the world! There's so much to do here: charter fishing, hiking, biking, shopping, kayaking, birding (one of the top areas in the US), sunset schooner cruises, theaters, museums, live music, beautiful beaches, tours, world-class dining. Boston is only 60 minutes away by train or car.
