Terrific Week, July 2009

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at the chalet last summer and had a wonderful time. We had family guest come throughout the week and everyone loved it. The view of the lake from inside as well as on the patio is awesome. I cooked big breakfasts for everyone complimented by delicious baked goods from a local shop. The "boys" rented a boat and went fishing several time - great to be able to dock the boat right at the property. Neighboring vacationers in the main house were friendly. Chalet was clean - plenty of hot water for showers. Only problem was finding the town dump open. We are looking forward to another stay in 2010.

Comfortable Chalet......but

  • 3 of 5

My husband and I rented your rental property the week of August 5th. We had a very nice time. The chalet was just as it was described on the website, clean, and cozy with great access to Schroon lake. The dock was in very good condition and we had no problems docking our boat. The only disappointment was the kitchen. While there were plates and glasses and cups, there was only 1 serving dish, 1 mixing bowl (small), and a pot that was so filthy that it should have been discarded. I had to go out to the family dollar store to buy some bowls and pots to cook with. I certainly do not expect a gourmet kitchen but I did expect a kitchen with enough bowls and pots and pans to cook with.

It's really a lovely chalet, the kitchen just needs to be updated with cookware.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the information you shared. I wish you had called Tammy, our rental agent about the kitchen. One, I personally go through the whole kitchen in June and all dishes/pots and pans are cleaned, sufficient kitchenware is provided and ready for the summer season. Unfortunately, when a renter puts a pan away that isn't up to your or my (clean) standard, we may miss it. The other issue we run into with renting both houses to a large group is serving dishes, etc. are moved from one house to another and not returned. I will bring this problem to our cleaning staff and we will make an extra effort to move items to their rightful place in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience these issues presented.

What a quaint, comfortable, clean home! Steps to the lake with nice access and a dock to use for the boat. Private deck with a beautiful view from morning to night. Fully functional kitchen and grill to allow us to cook and make our vacation more affordable. Short walk to town and very attentive owners. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the Chalet with friends and loved it. It was very clean and neat, and comfortable. It is located close to town, so we could easily walk to the shops and restaurants. The deck overlooks the lake and has a splendid view. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to vacation.
