THE BEACH VILLA
The Beachfront Villa has undergone a stunning transformation making it the most desirable vacation rental on the bay. The new Villa includes three air conditioned king master suites with full baths and private patios overlooking the turquoise Caribbean.

The 2nd level patio designed for outdoor dining with your own Weber gas grill overlooks the turquoise Caribbean.

A private rooftop garden with 360 degree views of Bahia Soliman. Perfect for yoga, quiet reading, or stargazing.

The beachfront Villa invites with an open concept andtraditional touches with a full kitchen, oversized sliding doors opening to a private beachfront patio, that steps down onto soft sand and inviting Caribbean.

High end, hotel quality beds, linens, towels, swimming pool, and lush, beautiful gardens. On site we have full time staff to help with your every need. For your enjoyment we provide a Weber BBQ, beach chairs and towels, shady palapas, kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkle gear. All you need is your bathing suit! Free WiFi, secure parking, absolute paradise!

This is indoor\outdoor living is at its finest with overheight sliding patio doors open onto the beach level patio. On the 2nd level you will find a large open patio equipped for barbeques, dining and entertaining. The stunning roof top garden patio will give you 360 views of all of Soliman Bay. A wonderful spot for entertaining, private sunbathing or star gazing in the evening.

Soliman Bay is the best kept secret on the Riviera Maya. The Casa Playa Maya property is situated in the best location on the pristine and coveted Soliman Bay! This was our first experience vacationing in this way and it was fantastic. The villa had plenty of room to be with the kids. Waking up and walking right out to the beach and paddle boarding with the morning sun was fantastic. Luis was extremely helpful from pre-arrival groceries to finding taxis. And even though we were concerned as we shared the beach with the casitas, it wasn’t an issue at all. Everyone was nice, respectful of space and no noise issues. Being able to walk down the beach to 2 fantastic restaurants was perfect. I liked the security and we would come back! Thank you for your patience with all my questions.

Beautiful place on a quiet bay

This is a beautiful property centrally located to Tulum, and also not too far from Cancun. Very quiet, amazing snorkeling, right outside. The staff was very helpful. Property very clean and well kept

Soliman Bay Retreat

The house is directly on the beach. We truly enjoyed reading under the two cabanas. The house is comfortable for 3-4 people. Please note the house does not have dishwasher nor washer/dryers. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Hi Gail. Thanks so much for your review. My only feedback on the dishwasher and washer/dryer is that water has to be trucked into the bay so it's a very valuable resource. These appliances are not very environmental so we have made the choice not to provide these amenities that you would expect in a city environment. Hope that makes sense to you and all other readers. Peace and Tranquility

Great stay in Tulum. The villa was exactly as expected. The views of the bay were spectacular. All the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We made a few meals at "home" and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Glynis was great leading up to the trip answering any questions we had, and Luis was super sweet in helping out with anything we needed while we were there. A perfect slice of paradise that we hope to get back to soon.

Peaceful and beautiful

Casa Playa Maya is located on the enchanting Solimon Bay, away from the chaos of Tulum and the hotel zone. While these places are accessible, once we arrived we hardly wanted to leave. The homeowner,Glynis, was in excellent contact ahead of my arrival and then lLuis, the house manager greeted us and made our stay very special. We stayed in the main villa on the beachfront, which is very attractive with 2 story glass walls and each room has a private balcony or terrace plus the rooftop. The casitas were equally nice and would also have been a great option if we were a smaller group. Luis was helpful in arranging transportation and anything that we needed. This beautiful home is located on about the prettiest stretch of beach that you could ask for. Enjoy!

Perfect vacation...perfect!

Only problem with this place, I could never sleep late because the sunrise on the wide and empty beach... just me and my delicious coffee and the gentle morning breeze and the whole day in front of me... Well I just could not waste a moment of it so I got up with the crazy tropical birds every single day! (sshhh I napped in the hammock each afternoon) You must let Lidia make you her grilled Shrimp skewers dinner... just do it. Thank me later. And her guacamole, she gets her ripe and lucsious avocados from a little old lady at a special market... Now go, book this before someone snatches it up and you end up at some boring condo.

Great spot from a picky womens perspective

Just returned from a fantastic stay at Casa Playa Maya. My Hubie and I stayed in the upper casita, and it was perfect. The casita had a beautiful domed brick ceiling, well equipped kitchen and a nice deck. It was spotlessly clean. I have spent a considerable about of time in the Yucatan in the past 2 years and this unit had a few things that set it apart from the rest. The first comfortable bed I have had, fluffy soft pillows, ample water pressure and good screens ( i.e.no mosquito's, the place had 11 or 12 windows and a great breeze all the time). Soliman Bay is wonderful. Great snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, beach walking, birding, or just laying back with a book. The owner Bill, is a great host and a wealth of information about local attractions, shopping, restaurants that only a local could know. We will be back.

Awesome!

We spent 3 weeks at this wonderful place right on the beach and we had a great time. Our dog was welcome and it was very relaxing to know that we were able to travel with her and not leave her at home with a dogsitter. I loved the hammocks, the free kayaks, snorcheling and the peaceful athmoshere. The property was clean and the helpers picked fresh coconuts for us, right from the palm ;-) ahhhhhh!!! Bill helped us to find everything we were looking for and he even got us some special organic food in town that we couldn't find. He was open, generous and gave us important information about the area. He has a huge library that he freely shared with us whenever we wanted to get new books...and we read a LOT! We loved this vacation and we often talk about this place with friends. Thank you, Bill! We definitely will come back!

GREAT FAMILY SPOT

I just wanted to say what a wonderful time and spot for our family vacation! We had ages from 3 to 87 and all had an excellent time! The beach was wonderful and right off the patio. The snorkeling was awesome and many attractions very close. It was great to have a place to call home while on vacation. Oscar was always there to answer questions and help. The house was clean and well maintained. It was everything we expected and more. Thank you Bill for your hospitality. I hope we can come back soon. I look at the pictures now and it brings back many warm feelings I can picture us now hanging out on the beach chairs with some cold ones! I would recommend this spot to families with small children and all ages. Its a more private experience than the resorts. You can put your kids down for a nap in the living room and sitt on the beach and enjoy yourself without having to be stuck in a room. Once again come here you wont regret it!

Beautiful views and unparalleled beach access

We booked this property for during my son's mid-winter break in February 2023. We had initially booked a different property which we canceled with no reason given. However, in the end, we all agreed that the cancellation was for the best because this place was perfect for us! Plenty of room for the 5 of us (3 adults, 2 children under 10). You can't beat the view from the Eastern side of the house. Walking out the back door and right onto the beach was amazing. Made it so easy to swim with the kids for however long they were up for it instead of having to pack them into the car to go swimming. We loved how shallow the bay was, allowing us to walk really far out without the water going above our shoulders. The VRBO host was very responsive prior to the trip and probably the most helpful of any host for the various properties we stayed at over the years. Only minor complaint was that the distance from the main highway is a bit long given the condition of the dirt roads. However, we had rented a small SUV, so it really wasn't a big deal. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing beach getaway!

Excellent location + accomodating hosts = great vacation

Casa Playa Maya was our home base for a recent family reunion including nearly 30 people ranging in age from 10 to 85, (11 were teens or young 20-somethings). The location is nothing short of spectacular. The photos on the website are accurate, but can't really convey how magical it feels to sit on the patio in the morning with a cup of coffee in hand. The property is clean and well-maintained, and Bill has great people on site to help with whatever you need. Setting up this reunion was difficult because we were trying to find accommodations for so many people on a budget, but Bill was incredibly helpful and patient. We ended up finding three different villas on Soliman Bay, but Bill's place was our headquarters for morning coffee and general hanging out. You can paddle out into Soliman Bay a couple hundred yards to snorkel around incredible coral reefs, but you can also find colorful, amazing fish hanging out around rocks just a few yards from the shore. We left Casa Playa Maya a few times to check out other beaches and other snorkeling opportunities, but we always came back feeling that we'd already found the best. I thought our teens would get bored and need the nightlife of a nearby resort, but that didn't happen. I would definitely recommend Casa Playa Maya to anyone.

Tropical Retreat

My sister's family (2 adults, 4 children) and my family (2 adults, 2 small boys) rented Casa Playa Maya for five days in March 2015. We rented the main house and one casita. This property is not luxurious, but it is exactly what you need for one of the best vacations you will ever have. Not only is the house charming and comfortable, but it is situated in the exact perfect location in Soliman Bay. Walked along Soliman Bay and saw many more extravagant houses unfortunately situated on stinky parts of the beach where the dead seaweed washed ashore, or with rocky beach areas that were unsuitable for any fun directly from the beach. We snorkeled daily, saw wonderful and amazing underwater scenes of life! Turtles, rays, fish of all kinds, gigantic sea fans, conch, hermit crabs, needlefish, and so much more! You literally can walk into the water and within 20 feet from shore you can explore coral outcroppings. If you are more adventurous, take a sea kayak out a few more hundred yards. The entire bay is protected by a barrier reef. The house is conveniently situated outside of Tulum and minutes from Xel-Ha, another natural wonder. Lydia and her husband are wonderful caretakers and will cook for you, for an extra charge. They clean daily and will get you fresh coconut from the trees right on property. My boys were in the water all day every day and absolutely loved this house, as did I! There is something magical about the sun down here - it warms you to the very core. And Casa Playa Maya is the perfect place to soak it in.

Best spot on the bay for a fabulous beach vacay!

Our party of 10 (2 families, 8 kids ages 4-17) just had the best vacation at Casa Playa Maya (CPM) and an adjacent casita. We will definitely be back! Over the years I've rented a home in Playacar (now hyper expensive and crowded), a condo on Half Moon Bay (N Akumal, now also very crowded and beach access can be difficult, IF you want to fight the seaweed invasion), and a home on Jade Bay (S Akumal, very pricey and the rocky beach access means you have to go elsewhere to enjoy that); CPM outshines them all. First, location, location, location... Casa Playa Maya is in an ideal spot on Soliman Bay--right in the center with direct access to calm, clear, warm turquoise water and incredible snorkeling. We saw turtles, rays, eels, and too many species of colorful fish to count. We were in the water or on it the whole time. The seaweed invasion plaguing the area this year is barely noticeable at CPM, while the mansions at the ends of the bay (particularly south) are inundated with the stinky stuff. Hardworking caretakers raking and hauling simply can't keep up. Second, you couldn't ask for more diligent, attentive, and kind caretakers. Pedro meticulously cleaned the beach and grounds early each morning, and cut coconuts from the trees for the kids to enjoy. Lidia's cooking is incredible--don't miss her mixed seafood ceviche and guacamole. We enjoyed it with dinner on arrival after a long travel day, and had her prepare it again a couple days later for our happy hour. She also does dishes and makes beds, cleans baths, and most importantly, gets the sand out of the house daily. Bill, the owner, is SO helpful, laid back, and accommodating--his one-page rental agreement is a true testament to his nature to keep things simple, as well as the trust he has in his visitors. The home is cozy, comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It's a beach bungalow, not fancy by any means but has everything one needs for a comfortable stay that provides the optimal beach experience. I love the local architecture and how the home blends in with the area; our kids thought it was SO cool to sleep in the loft right under the palapa. Kitchen is well equipped. Internet is mostly reliable. The bedrooms are air conditioned and HUGE, with great patios and fridges. Inflatables available to accommodate any sleeping arrangement. There is no "common" bath though, so everyone has to use the ones in the bedrooms. We simply loved it and can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

Family Vacation

Casa Playa Maya was our home away from home for 8 days. Glynis, the owner was super informative. She recommended a grocery, restaurants and answered any questions we had promptly. In addition to being very kind & helpful Luis and Anabel kept the villa and surrounding properties beautifully! Snorkeling in the bay was a family favorite for sure. Security at the gate for peace of mind. Hope we can return!

Great Place

This is a really nice house right on the ocean. We stayed in the "Casa Grande". There are smaller apartments that are behind the Casa Grande that wouldn't have the same view. The property staff were very nice and helpful. The house is in a gated area about 15 minutes outside Tulum. We rented a car in Cancun and drove. We felt completely safe the whole time, with the caveat that we didn't drive much at night.

Beautiful house and location

My family enjoyed relaxing in the modern Soliman Bay house. Normally in Tulum the waves are really strong and the warm, gentle bay water was such a great change of pace for snorkeling!

Relaxing location

We enjoyed a few days relaxing on the beach. The main villa was comfortable for my family of four. We enjoyed kayaking and walking the beach.

Family holiday

We rented the main house and it was very nice. We didn't realize that the property also had 4 apartments on the property. The pool was very small for that many people. We were disappointed that the algae was back because it is usually a quiet and lovely beach. Luis was exceptional.

Dream house on dream bay

We loved the property. One of the most amazing things about it is that it is located on Soliman Bay and the water is protected from the surf. There is a nice reef a short kayak or long swim away but there is also a mini reef 100 yards from shore that is tiny but surprisingly has many fish. We brought two kids that are 7 and 12. They were able to snorkel around the close reef all the time. The other amazing thing about the location are the property managers who were super helpful and nice. We had them cater two meals of fish tacos which were excellent! The property is as beautiful as it looks in the photos but I must note here that while it feels the property is on its own, it is actually part of a small complex with other rentals which means the pool and beach are shared. While we were disappointed about this at first, in fact it was fine. There was never anyone else in the pool area and the beach area was never crowded.

Wonderful location

This was perfect vacation spot for our family, although would have been nice to have AC in main room and loft. Luckily we had nice breezes the entire time so feel we lucked out. Soliman Bay is good 15 minute drive in to town but we enjoyed cooking breakfast and lunch and then headed in to Tulum for dinner. Worked well for us. We enjoyed playing many games of chess and snorkeling. Very relaxing, on a beautiful beach.

Lovely House

This was a basic but lovely two bedroom cottage right on the beach. My husband and I went with our two teenage children. Luis and his family were very gracious and helpful. Wendy was very easy to deal with and responded quickly to my numerous questions.

We really want to share this amazing location with others and make memorable holidays and memories. Casa Playa Maya is located in pristine Bahia Soliman. It's a beautiful private beach in a protected bay. Unlike busy Tulum beach, our location is quiet with a beautiful sandy beach.

Entering the north end of Tulum Beach in town now comes with a fee for visitors.

When you rent with us your private beach is included...no need to pay to visit a busy commercialize beach. Just step off your deck, slide into your snorkel gear and experience amazing sealife. Jump into a kayak or onto a paddleboard and explore this calm turquoise bay. Its amazingly beautiful and all gear is included.

There are 2 restaurants on the bay and Tulum is only 15 minutes away if you want more shopping and restaurants.

We want our guests to come away feeling like they have truly had a vacation in a tropical paradise.

This is the polar opposite of an all inclusive resort. There are no crowds, but Tulum is close enough for some night life, great award-winning restaurants, mayan ruins and other attractions. Soliman Bay hosts only 48 properties and sits on the 2nd largest reef in the world. The beach and water have lovely white sand, the water is warm and aquamarine. Because the bay is uncrowded, guests can expect to see lots of sea life like sea turtles, rays, tropical fish, crayfish and more. Our community operates the Bahai-Soliman Turtle Protection Program and we hatch over 3000 baby turtles on the bay each year and it's climbing. These are only a few special things...the rest are you...when you visit.
