Ellsworth Maine is one of our stops on our 2 Week Rd. trip through New England… We chose to spend an extra day in Maine, since the view views were so beautiful…. We absolutely loved this house…. We actually enjoyed the house so much. We went to the grocery store and cooked our first meal in two weeks there…. The holiday house was easy to find and plenty of places to explore... We have even been talking about going back in the summertime to be able to enjoy the water too and this is the perfect place to stay…

Very pretty location with everything we needed. We appreciate the cleanliness, the nice towels, well appointed kitchen and availability. I'd agree with other reviews that the upstairs bedroom needs a better layout. I hope to stay again!

This is a wonderful place to stay. 30-40 minutes from Acadia NP but so far away from the Bar Harbor’s hustle and bustle. The cottage is clean and well equipped with cares. The only slight downside is the dining option in Ellsworth is not very exciting but Bar Harbor is close enough as well as all the roadside lobster pound/shack on Rt 3! Will definitely stay here again when we are visiting Acadia NP.

Sleeping area upstairs needs some furniture rearranging. The person sleeping on the wall and sloped ceiling can hit there head in the evening getting up. Toilet area can also be an issue! Very nice cabin to stay in. May have an issue with ants found a number of dead ones.

Our family really enjoyed this cabin in the woods. It is well equipped with everything you need and even has a nice little dock on the lake. We were hoping to get out on the lake with our paddle boards but weather didn’t permit. It looked like there was a canoe available for quests, but we didn’t use it. The cabin is very close to town and Ellsworth has everything you would need. We enjoyed an evening of live music at Fogtown restaurant and Black Moon Public House. Love the cute shops as well and the LLBean outlet.so many things to do!

Ellsworth stay is a dream.

Finding a secluded place this close to downtown Ellsworth was perfect for us. Ellsworth is incredibly charming and just far enough away from Acadia to avoid the crowds found on the island but close enough to make trips into the park a breeze. Cabin is absolutely lovely and comes with all the amenities one could possibly need on a short trip to the North East. Do be warned this property is really not for a family looking to spend their days in the lake. However, if you're looking for a day trip to Acadia, dinner in downtown Ellsworth, a nightcap around the fire pit, and a cozy sleep then Holiday House is a dream. P.S. I highly suggest a visit to Fogtown Brewing. Really special community oriented place.

Fantastic location in Ellsworth and a short distance to Acadia. The location of the house is private and peaceful. It was very clean and kitchen had everything we needed. We bought bird food for the bird feeders that were already there and enjoyed a large variety of birds at the feeders. The house has a nice porch deck and fire pit which we enjoyed nightly. Close to shopping and restaurants in Ellsworth. Our stay was the first week of October. I really recommend this house.

Excellent stay

Great location in the woods. Comfortable beds. Kitchen well stocked. Not too far from Acadia and Bar Harbor. Great for 2 couples.

Maine vacation

The cottage was beautiful. Good hub within driving distance to various points (Bar Harbor, Bangor, etc). Very clean and quiet, exactly what we wanted!

Understand what you're booking

I booked this because it had a canoe included. Other bookings in same price range all had issues, but we are a family that paddles. The first thing my son wants to do is go out on the lake (literally still had suit cases in the car). We make the walk back down the drive to the dock and ... no canoe. Send messages about issue ... handled by a 3rd party .... finally get back to us about the canoe on our last day saying there will not be a canoe. Owner told them that they don't put the canoe out until mid June (our stay June 12th - 15th). When we were leaving on the 15th we saw the canoe secured to the dock. The inside of the lake house is nice and clean, the back porch had an insane layer of pollen dust (unusable without significant cleaning). The location is great for Eastern Maine vacation. This house would have been a five star for the price if it wasn't for the issues.

Acadia vacay

The cottage is as the photos show. A spacious, nice place. It does have black ants upstairs and downstairs - they need to address that problem - saw some on counter in kitchen, so watch where you leave food items. The amenities were sufficient - but only conditioner was provided in the showers. Beds were comfortable. We couldn't use the cute screened-in porch because bright yellow pollen was everywhere. It needs to be deep cleaned - as well as the porch cushions. The location is close to Ellsworth and easy drive to Acadia. The area was very private and quiet. We didn't utilize the canoe, but would have if we had stayed longer. Easy walk to the dock and lovely spot to sit on the deck. Overall, we enjoyed this place. Would recommend if the ant problem was solved.

Ellsworth stay

The house and property fit our needs. The check-in and out process was super easy. When we arrived we saw a couple big black ants, as our stay progressed we found more and more. The last night of the stay while trying to cook dinner, the oven had quit working. We contacted Vacasa (which was a computerized auto response, not an actual person), and couldn't get it remedied. We left a note for the maintenance crew when we left of all the things we found needing attention.

Gorgeous, quiet property

Our stay was great at the lake house. Clean, quiet, relaxing. The description is a bit misleading, though. The house is not lakeside like it states. You have to travel down a hill and across a street in order to get to the lake. Other than that, highly recommend staying here.
