Pictures are often worth a thousand words and the ones of these two cottages are great. But you must visit in order to appreciate how wonderful they are. Our family has stayed in both cottages, always in the off season. The views of Town Cove and the sunrises, birds, sailboats create a tranquil oasis. Once, we even saw a seal. And, in spite of the fact that busy Cranberry Highway was right at the end of the driveway, we never noticed traffic sounds. The location was perfect, seconds from the grocery, a package store and a couple of classic Cape Cod restaurants and within a brisk walk from the center of Orleans. Rock Harbor sunsets are a 5 minute drive away. Be sure to go to the Salt Pond Visitor's Center (3rd light in Eastham, after you hit the rotary). Great little museum, Cape history and geology movies, and out the back, one of the most gorgeous views on the Cape. Ask the ranger about the old Coast Guard Station, access to Coast Guard beach (a favorite) and the short drive to Nauset Light.
Both cottages are perfectly furnished and equipped for a true Cape Cod getaway. Lobster pots (or just buy lobsters steamed at Stop and Shop), blue and white dishware, wood wainscoting and wide board flooring, comfy furnishings, wonderful natural light from the many windows. The bathrooms are small, but immaculate. (The shower stalls [no tubs] may be too small for really large bathers.)
The owner, Tony, couldn't be more personable, helpful and accommodating. He truly made us feel welcome and at home. We highly recommend these perfect cottages
