Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 1 Bath
This 2 bedroom one bathroom family cabin was hand built by the present owners in the late 1950's. There is a cozy guest house next to the cabin with washer/dryer and another double bed. Over the years the cabin has been improved and restored to provide year round comfort, but still retains its rustic simplicity. It has a unique setting on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with the wooded hills of Oswald West State Park behind. It is a stunning and wild spot, with little sense of other human presence. An American Bald Eagle nests nearby and flies over regularly. Mice and raccoons also visit.
Pets are welcome with advance notice--there is a fee. To speed up the reservation process, please indicate in your initial inquiry if you are or are not bringing a dog so that we can adjust the quote. (If you don't say one way or the other, I will ask you.)
A fifteen minute walk takes you to the secluded and often rocky Falcon Cove beach while a ten minute drive provides all the village pleasures of Manzanita and Cannon Beach.
Please note that the cabin continues to be used as a vacation home by our family. We live close by, and do much of the cleaning and maintenance ourselves. We limit the number of guests to six, and ask you to keep the place tidy. Please let us know if you plan to bring a dog, or have more than four guests as our extra charges reflect the added wear and tear as well as the extra time it takes to clean.

Perfect setting for a relaxing retreat and quiet celebration
The view was amazing and there was plenty of room for our family of 5. Although it rained a bit we we're still able to enjoy the ocean from the comfort of the living room. I couldn't ask for a better setting to celebrate my twins first birthday and my first vacation in two years. Thank you Vivi!
private setting at the end of the road, with a spectacular view
I haven’t enjoyed such a spectacular setting elsewhere along the Oregon Coast. The cabin is private, surrounded by a grove of firs an estimated 75’ above the ocean at the end of a road, with a northward view from the north side of Arch Cape toward Cannon Beach. The location is convenient for exploring the coast both to the north and south. The cabin and furnishings are comfortable, but not fancy, reminiscent of family vacation homes I grew up with in the 1960s to mid 70s. Adequate kitchen, with all necessary cooking utensils, plates, glasses, etc. A large front deck with hot tub (for those who enjoy a soak with a view) is a bonus. Although there is no cable or internet connection, we did get 2 bars of signal strength from AT&T and were able to send and receive emails, etc. The bathroom is small, but we (4 people) made do during our two night stay. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and the felt price was reasonable considering the spectacular setting and view.
We spent a glorious 2 nights here as a respite from the city/work/life stress of a new year. It could not have been more perfect. We were awed by the forest on our drive in the first evening and even more so by the view the next morning. The kitchen is very well stocked for any needs and we particularly enjoyed the waffle maker for breakfast! This is not a fancy home, so if you’re looking for lots of upgraded amenities I would say look elsewhere. It was the perfect disconnect. Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely, treasured space.
Unplug, Unwind and Rejuvenate
Definitely expect a rustic cabin. We enjoyed celebrating our milestone anniversary - watching Oregon storm from inside the cabin and hot tub! This was the first time in many months that we were able to enjoy nature - without cable TV or internet at all - even completed a 500 piece puzzle in 1/2 a day! Enjoyed cooking our own meals, hiking after the storm, sipping wine in the hot tub - and just being a couple. Thank you for providing a respite from our busy lives.
Fantastic rustic cabin with great views and whale watching
We've been to this cabin multiple times and have seen bald eagles, sea lions, and whales almost every time. It's a great spot - perfectly secluded with amazing views and a pretty quick trip down to the beach.
Breathtaking view from a cabin full of character.
This cabin has one of the most amazing coastal views. We came in late and woke up to an amazing sight. It’s perched up on a cliff looking north to hug point and haystack rock. You feel like you are in a treehouse. While the cabin is rustic, it has everything you might need, including a hot tub. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.
The cabin is within walking distance of the Oregon Coast Trail that leads north to Arch Cape or south to Oswald West State Park. When the gray whales are migrating along the coast (winter and spring) careful watchers can see their spouts from the deck.
