With stunning ocean views, elegant style, and artistic elements, The Mermaid is truly unique. Nestled in Arch Cape, about 70 miles west of Portland, this tranquil getaway affords easy access to the beach along a nature trail. Once upon a time a live album (Arch Cape Sessions) was recorded in the living room, writers have holed up for weeks on end to focus on their craft, and families and artists have come to the Mermaid to refresh, relax, and reflect.

When the tide is out, wander North around various sandstone outcroppings to Hug Point, Arcadia Beach, even all the way to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. Wander South around the Cape and you will find the Arches for which Arch Cape is named, and some exquisite tidepools. Fine dining and shopping are minutes away in Cannon Beach to the North, and Manzanita to the South.

The Mermaid sleeps 6, offers a full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, large upper and lower decks, and a hot tub with an ocean view.

Everything was great! Rose was a gracious host and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice getaway, spiral staircase could be a challenge for older guests but kitchen is ready if you bring the food.Hope to visit again!

Second time we stayed at this place. Clean, great location, all the cooking “gadgets” you could ever need. Short, easy walk to the beach and a quick drive to Cannon Beach or Seaside. Communication with owners was good. A lot of good hiking trails not far from the house with some spectacular views. If you haven’t visited this part of the country, it’s worth the trip.

The place this house is located in is SO beautiful and quiet. It was awesome to go in to the busy Cannon Beach and Seaside where is is bustling and then come back to this home for peace. This house had everything we needed. The hot tub was very much used by our teens. The trail from the house to the beach was lovely, it is a bit of a walk, but it is nice. The walk home is uphill, so be prepared! LOVED our stay!

Girls beach weekend for the sand castle contest

We had an amazing weekend. Great dining and shopping in Cannon Beach and Seaside. The house was perfect for us. We would have loved the hot tub but the rain was a deterrent. Would definitely stay again.

Great location

Great location and nice place. Had everything our families needed to enjoy a relaxing few days on the coast. Note that you will be expected to do almost all the laundry before you leave.

The house is perfect for two! The beach is wonderfully close as are the towns north and south. Hot tub was great to relax in and it was a quiet, easy to find neighborhood. Comfortable inside and out. A gem!

Arch Cape Get-a-way

We hit the Oregon Coast with sunshine and no wind. The house is perfect - well kept, everything worked, comfy bed, and beautiful view of the ocean. The path to the beach was remarkable. Great stay, great home.

Beautiful stay!

When we arrived the house was beautifully cleaned and looked super cozy. We loved the hot tub and the quick drive to cannon beach. The bed was very comfortable, the owners were extremely communicative, and the view of the beach and sunsets every night were breathtaking! We would love to come back and stay when we’re in town again!
