About Property Manager
'Singing Sands' in Arch Cape, Six Miles South of Cannon Beach, OR In 1929, my great aunts, Elsie and Marie English, bought the Arch Cape Hotel and re-named it 'Singing Sands.' Family stories tell us it had been used by fur trappers and postmen. Elsie and Marie came down from Seattle in the summers and provided room, board, and beach fun to relatives and paying guests. Highway 101 did not reach Arch Cape at that time, so they had to drive on the beach at low tide. After Elsie and Marie retired from their teaching and school administration professions and moved to 'Singing Sands' permanently, they found it uncomfortable for winter living. Around 1955, the old 'Singing Sands' was torn down, and a new 'Singing Sands' was built, which I inherited in 1979. The present 'Singing Sands' contains original furniture and happy memories. It is on an ocean front lot with easy beach access. There is a view of the famous Castle Rock, about one mile out to sea. 'Singing Sands' sleeps six. A single bedroom is located on the first floor with two twin beds and a bathroom with a handicap-accessible shower. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and another with twin beds. This bathroom has a tub. Each bedroom has a view of the ocean. The living room has a fire place (wood is provided), and the fully equipped kitchen was recently remodeled. Both rooms have ocean views.

Excellent value for the money. We really enjoyed our stay.
The only reason I didn’t give Singing Sands 5 stars is because it is dated in the bedrooms and living room/den area. However, the location is wonderful (steps from the beach) and the views from the house are outstanding. The kitchen is well stocked, there are games (again, they are dated) and books, as well as a fireplace place. I love that there were three bedrooms, ALL with views. Checking in and out was very easy. This was a girlfriends’ get away and each one of us would come back to the house in a heartbeat.
Wonderful 3 days in Arch Cape
We loved this house! Great location and beautiful views. The house was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. We will return again. Thank you!
We’ll be back for sure.
Great view. Super clean house. Homey feel.
Great location in Arch Cape. We had a wonderful time while we were there.
The house fit our needs very well. It is a charming home with great access to the beach. We will be back.
Perfect location. Incredible views. Very clean and well appointed home. Arch cape is the best beach
Singing sands is a great property with great views and direct beach access. The property manager carol is great and very available to any questions or requests. Patty the house cleaner does an amazing job getting the place VERY clean and ready. House is older but very functional and has most everything you need from good towels to washer/dryer to tons of kitchen stuff. Good appliances, nice fireplace with Split and dry wood in the garage and comfy forced air heating. Although in a built up area the property has good protection from neighboring properties with older trees and vegetation. Nice lawn for the pups and ample parking. The house has 2 bathrooms but only 1 shower and wifi service is not so good. Both items not so big a deal. We would definitely come back. Thanks!
Lovely location. Great floor plan. Beautiful beach!
We loved this house. The beach is unbeatable. The floor plan is very nice-functional and family friendly. Although the home is dated, it is clean and really comfortable. We will definitely be back. Also, the owners are very accommodating and were terrific to work with. We had an outstanding time.
