About Tracy Livermore
We purchased the land in the late 50's then built the house in 1967. The floor to ceiling windows, the vaulted roof and kitchen pass through counter all reflect this time period. Our family grew up with most the neighbors in this community on our summer breaks and holidays. The rest of the time we mostly resided in Portland Oregon.
Tracy Livermore purchased this House in 1967

cozy cottage, close to everything
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in May 2018. We were looking to get away, but nothing too remote. This cabin was quiet and private...nothing but the ocean waves lulling us to sleep. The ocean views were gorgeous and we spent a lot of time enjoying the view. While we enjoyed the remote location, we also enjoyed the proximity to Cannon Beach, Manzanita, and Oswald West State Park. In minutes, we could be at a restaurant, grocery store, shopping, hiking, or on the beach. It was the best of both worlds. I highly recommend this place to all.
Wonderful home for a family gathering
This was a great house for our family gathering. The windows along the whole beachfront side of the house were fantastic. We spent a lot of time talking, playing games, and enjoying meals together in this spacious area, while enjoying the view. Our 2 young grandsons had plenty of area to play. Even though the weather was a little rainy and cold while we were there, the huge windows made us feel that we were outside. I was a little disappointed that the beach area below the house was very rocky and hard to walk on, but there are wonderful sandy beach areas nearby that are very accessible by car. The tide chart posted in the home was very helpful. Thank you to the owners for sharing such a lovely home.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your family time at our beach house. We just had the windows washed so I'm glad you got to enjoy the views even with some rainy weather. I will keep the tide chart for folks and I'm glad that was helpful. There is usually a lot of sandy beach right in our cove but perhaps not this time. The coast is ever changing different times of year I guess. I'm glad you found the games and kids toys and nearby beaches are always fun to check out too. I hope to have you stay with us again sometime.
Thank you for your review,
Beauty by the Pacific
This is a beautiful house and an amazing part of the country. I've been to other properties in the area and this far exceeds anywhere I've stayed previously. I came to find some healing and peace after a great loss and the serenity of the surrounding trees, the birds piping and singing, the crash and susurrus of the waves below, all revitalized me.The views, of course, are amazing, bed comfy and warm, windows open so the ocean can lullaby you to sleep at night, and the kitchen! Sharp knives, great pots and pans, condiments, spices... I love to cook and made some wonderful meals, whilst listening to vinyl on the turntable, very cool. Fires every night, with all firewood supplied, rocky beach within walking distance and plenty of sand and sea nearby. There were minus tides during my stay so I went tidepooling, explored caves, hiked through old growth and returned to Portland with a lighter spirit. Tracey was very helpful after some initial difficulty getting in and it was lovely talking with her later on as well. I will be back - with my boyfriend next time!
Rainy and wet but enchanting.
We stayed four nights at Falcon Cove and as it is in the PNW it rained most of the time. I believe this place is wonderful in all weather. When surrounded by the forest and with the constant sound of the ocean surf below, it was a very relaxing and sometimes mesmorizing place.
All windows had lovely views. There were many very comfortable reading chairs located throughout the large upstairs living area. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen had everything and more for any meal we intended to make. Beds were all very comfortable but the constant sound of the surf would have put you to sleep even if they were not. We came with many books and good music and did not miss television or movies.
Property was very clean and the owner was very responsive and helpful. We were celebrating a birthday and the surrounding towns offered many great choices of restaurants and fun small shops for interesting shopping. We visited Jacobsen Salt Co. and purchased salt mixtures the likes I've never heard of but we continue to use daily in our cooking at home. I would highly recommend Falcon Cove to anyone who wants an authentic Pacific Northwest experience. We will return.
Thank you so much for your review Nancy
I really appreciated having you as a guest and now hearing how much you enjoyed your trip.
Yes it was a downpour while you were there but it sounds like you still enjoyed it and found lots of fun and relaxing things to do.
I love Jacobson Salt Company but have never visited their store. Perhaps I will have some time this weekend. I am delivering all the new soaps and blankets I've just purchased tomorrow.
I hope to have you stay with us again sometime, you have my number.
Stunning view, cozy and welcoming house
Our family of five had a lovely time at this beautiful house. The view as we walked in the door, right before sunset, was truly breathtaking. The bedrooms all had beautiful views, and the beds were cozy and comfortable. This was one of best equipped rentals we've ever stayed at - everything we needed for cooking and cleaning and enjoying ourselves was well organized and easily accessible.
Although we only had a few hours of sun our entire time here, the house was a wonderful place to hang out and watch the wind and waves outside. We kept the fire burning, and had many wonderful hours curled up on the comfy chairs in front of it, reading and talking and playing games.
This house is in a great location - surrounded by Oswald West State Park. There are trails nearby heading both north and south along the coast. We hiked south to Short Sands Beach (a LONG hike!) via Falcon Point, where we watched whales spouting. We also enjoyed jaunts to Hug Point, just north of Arch Cape.
We were hoping for a family getaway in the midst of a crazy year where we could just enjoy being with each other. This house exceeded our expectations. We were even able to welcome my brother, his wife, and their 2-year old the second half of our stay, and reconnect with family we hadn't seen in months.
A big thank you to the Livermore family for sharing your beautiful home. We hope to return!
Luke, thank you so much!
We just returned from the beach house yesterday. We were down to complete some fern planting along the driveway. I was so happy to return and read your review.
It was sunny and warm this last weekend. We found a great breakfast place called Wanda's just South in Nehalem on Hwy 101. One town South of Manzanita.
We took down all new supplies and had lots of fun spreading gravel, placing ferns along the drive and hanging out with family.
It is important to us that people choosing our beach house get to have a great experience too.
Family time, nature time, hiking, great meals, that's what its all about!
Hope to have you stay again sometime,
We arrived needing some fresh air and ocean views, recovering from a recent tragedy. The house was exactly what we needed. It is set back, at the end of a quiet, forested road. The first floor's entire west facing wall is windows that overlook the sea. The fire place had plenty of wood and the kitchen was well appointed. Tracy was responsive, friendly and flexible. Be aware that the house is old (i.e., rustic and charming, kind of mid century modern) and the downstairs bedrooms are loud when people are walking above, if that is important to you.
And access to the beach is difficult, though there are a ton of great beaches in either direction by car. But if you just need a quiet place to stare at the sea by day and into a fire at night, this is a great choice.
Thank you for writing this review. I am glad our home was a place to heal and gave you comfort from your recent hardship. I wish I would have given you better directions to the beach access. It's down one long block heading North on Tide Avenue.
I'm glad our home was comforting with the fireplace, the views of the sea and some quiet time. I'm also glad our well stocked kitchen kept your need to run to the store down to a minimal.
I hope you will stay with us again sometime and I hope you and your family are doing a little better,
Falcon Cove is between Cannon Beach and Manzanita. Both are 7 miles, 11 kilometers away. These small towns have grocery stores, restaurants, pubs, libraries, theater and more.
Wheeler and Brighton Marina both have boat rentals for Fishing and Crabbing. Hiking Trails pass through Falcon Cove Road.
