Cove Cottage: Panoramic Ocean Views on Secluded Oregon Coast in Park

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,500 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 6 nights

About the property

A stunning architectural gem in a secluded ocean setting on Oregon Coast

Cove Cottage is an exceptionally clean and comfortable ocean view vacation rental home, managed by the owners, half way between Cannon Beach and Manzanita. Enjoy the entire house to yourself.

Relax in the Marquis 3 person hot tub while you enjoy the sound of the ocean and watch shooting stars at night.

For your enjoyment, the tub is emptied, refilled, and sanitized before you arrive.

See pelicans and cormorants from the living room window as they roost on Castle Rock, part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Sanctuary.

Cove Cottage is perched on a hill overlooking Cove Beach, Oregon. You can see the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Sanctuary from the living room window and the area is surrounded by old growth forests of Oswald West State Park.

Cove Beach is one of the least known beaches on the Northern Oregon Coast. During low tide, a vast sand beach is exposed at Cove Beach. Because most people don't watch the tide tables, it is common to have the entire 2mile beach to yourself  a rare treat not only for Oregon, but for most of the world.

During high tide, there is not much sand exposed, but you can drive one mile to Arch Cape Beach where there is always sand. Or, within 7 miles you can visit Manzanita Beach

Cove Cottage was recently completely remodeled. The 1500 square foot home features a panoramic ocean view, a large great room, 3 bedrooms, an upstairs/loft with spiral staircase, all new appliances, gorgeous wood floors, and an 1100 square foot deck made from sustain-ably harvested Red Balau Mahogany.

Leisure activities on-site include beachcombing, bird watching, walks on the sand and tidal pools, whale watching, wildlife viewing, and walks in the park and forest. Off site, in Manzanita and Cannon Beach, are horse-back riding, golfing, and scenic drives. The coast further away has deep sea fishing, cycling, kayaking, mountain biking, surf fishing, tennis, and wind-surfing.

Nearby within several miles are the communities of Arch Cape and Manzanita, with coffee shops, restaurants, post office, grocery stores.

Why John & Maria chose Northern Coast

Best said from prior guests:

"The picture windows mesmerized us day and night... enjoyed the hot tub while gawking at the stars and planets. Can't recommend a place more highly. But don't fill up the calendar completely as we're coming back."

"This place is special. It is well cared for, the architecture and construction of the house is amazing, the location is perfect, and will definitely come back when we can."

"It is an amazing place with the feeling of being completely private but within 10 minutes of two different towns with many good restaurants and destinations. We had the beach to ourselves every time that we made the 5 minute stroll to it....I am referring this place to all my friends. It is one of the best places that we have ever stayed through Home Away or any other vacation rental site."

What makes this house unique

Cove Cottage is a beautiful and serene living space, which draws the visitors attention to the beautiful and rugged Oregon Coast. It is full of nature and beauty, yet comfortable, but simple. Our prior guests say it best:

"gorgeous memorable vacation days in your lovely cove location... is ideal for our stay... allowed for rest and peace as well as adventure. The beach is absolutely stunning. Our days in the cove cottage remain unforgettable and we look forward to returning."

"Access to local smaller towns (Cannon Beach/Manzanita) is fairly easy - a few miles and just a few minutes up/down the coast road, if you need to shop or crave a latte."

Very nice, calming, close to amenities with a definite feel of isolation. Constant crashing of ocean waves adds to peacefulness and definitely blocks noise from other sources. We were lucky with the weather...sunny daytimes and the Milky Way from the hot tub at night. Kitchen is stocked with all appliances you would need (decent quality, too). Beach access a little difficult for older member of our group...requiring a steady hand to cross the cobbles. The beach at Hug Point is less than 5 minute drive and easier to access. Owners and cleaning contractors keep the place in top condition! We very much enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Gregory, We also appreciate the sound of the crashing waves. Just the right medicine to clear thoughts of any troubles left at home. The beauty of Cove Beach (and sunsets) can be also appreciated from the bench at the end of the path without traversing the cobbles. However, if one can traverse the cobbles at low tide, the Arch Cape end of the beach has beautiful tide pools to explore. We invite you to return and also explore other beautiful beaches in the area. Best regards, Maria & John

Breathtaking views, very private

  • 4 of 5

We loved the property/house. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and gadgets. The view wss amazing and a short walk to the beach. The only thing we did not like was the spiral stairs. We were wishing there was another way upstairs to the other two bedrooms. It's hard to get your luggage up those stairs. All in all we had an amazing weekend. Thank you for sharing your beach home with us.

Owner's Response: Hi Mellissa, Agreed, navigating the spiral stairs can be a challenge getting luggage to the upstairs bedrooms. We try to let people know about this and appreciate your comments. The cottage has a unique design, so we are limited in other stair options. Nonetheless, we're delighted to hear you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed your visit. We'd love to have you back! A great place with amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay in this beautiful home! The views, deck and hot tub were enjoyed by all and the kitchen was extraordinarily well stocked, making for easy family dinners. Nice touches like sand toys for the kiddo and chocolates upon our arrival added that little extra care. This is a great property, so long as you are able to navigate the spiral staircase to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night! We left a light on and that worked well. Overall, a clean, welcoming place with amazing view and everything we needed. Thanks!

A Wonderful House in a Perfect Spot

  • 5 of 5

Just a week ago I was sitting at the dining room table at Cove Cottage with a glass of Oregon pinot noir, watching the resident bald eagle fly down the beach as he did almost every day of our stay. I've just arrived home and I'm ready to return. The house is comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the view spectacular. It's convenient to both Canon Beach and Manzanita, where perfectly fresh fish and vegetables are readily available. Cove Cottage is good for the blood pressure and good for the soul.

Our Special Niche

  • 5 of 5

This cabin fit our needs perfectly. Our daughter had her wedding at the Lodge at the north end of the road, while one son rented another cabin a block away from us, and another son and family stayed a few days with us ... great family reunion. Perfect for rotating grandkids over a week... and weather was perfect for the wedding. Beach was fun for exploring and kite flying once you get over large rocks at the berm line, and 3 nearby state park beaches (Hug, Arcadia, Short Sandy) offer excellent alternate choices. Cabin is cozy, and everyone loved it, especially hopping into the hot tub in the evening. WiFi in the cabin was excellent, especially necessary since there's no standard cell phone reception in this secluded stretch between Arch Cape and Falcon Cape. We swapped cabin phone numbers for family coordination, which also worked well. The owner is excellent to work with, and very responsive.

Owner's Response: We are thrilled that our guests had such a wonderful stay at Cove Cottage. It is a beautiful yet simple cottage in a pristine setting on the Oregon coast, with necessary modern features for those who do want to or need to stay connected. As guests, they were perfect.....they communicated well with us and took great care of the cottage. They deserved, on this happy occasion, the extra bonus of exceptionally clear and sunny Oregon weather.
