About The Owner

I am a father of two, and I live on the San Francisco Peninsula, California.

Why The Owner chose Bijou Pines

After a long search for the perfect cabin getaway in South Lake Tahoe, I was very happy to find my home away from home, in 'Bijou Pines'. It was everything that I was looking for; A quaint woodsy atmosphere, with all of the Tahoe Charm. A neighborhood of Historic Tahoe Cabins from the 1930's and 1940's, but with all of the conveniences of home. On a double lot with plenty of space to enjoy the scenery, yet within walking distance to shops dining, Saweway and Starbucks!

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy all of the beauty that South Lake Tahoe has to offer. Relaxing at the cabin, swimming at the pool just down the block, bike riding, taking walks on the beach just around the corner, hiking to the waterfalls at Fallen Leaf lake, having BBQ's at the cabin, shopping, dining out, and the night life at the casinos.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a cozy and charming cabin where 3 generations of our family spent some memorable days. Our 2 1/2 year old built her first snowman in the backyard. The kitchen was well equipped for our New Year's feast. We sadly ended our stay early, but have many fond memories of the cabin.

Great location, perfect cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in July. It was quite hot and could do with an electric fan upstairs but other than that, everything was perfect! The backyard was perfect for our group as it was spacious and the kids could run around while the grown ups enjoyed beers and ping pong. The deck chairs around the fire pit were perfect for roasting marshmallows. The cabin is a short walk to the beach, which was perfect with little kids. We rented the bikes and rode to the casinos and that took about 10 minutes. We also rented the kayaks and took them to Zephyr Cove. The owners were super responsive and took care of everything. The cabin was clean, well stocked and decorated wonderfully. We'd defintitely stay here again!

This house was perfect for our family. Very clean and it has everything you need. We were there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with our children and we are so pleased that we stayed in this cabin. Looking forward to our next trip.

Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a Christmas vacation at the cabin and found it to be exceptionally well supplied and very cozy and comfortable for our group of 8. The Berry's had arranged to have a Christmas tree and decorations for us, which made it perfect. They provided so many extras and were so friendly and helpful in answering our many questions about the area. A snowstorm right before we arrived made the cabin and it's location so picturesque. What a fun vacation we had and how glad we were to have chosen this particular cabin!

great Tahoe cabin for family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time with our family in the cabin over new year's eve. We really appreciated the port-a-crib for our baby, and our older kids liked their separate bedrooms. It is a cozy and perfect size cabin for a family of 5 or 6; Laurie and Frank are very responsive and nice to work with.
