Why Debbie Conde chose Christmas Valley

We chose this house for the location! Quiet neighborhood,, away from the crowds. But minutes from all the activities that visitors come here for, and that South Lake Tahoe has to offer. About 20 minutes from downtown South Lake Tahoe. Grocery shopping 5 minutes from the cabin. Close to ski resorts, Sierra, Kirkwood, and Heavenly. Cross country skiing out your door. This is ideally a perfect couples getaway close to many outdoor activities. Very popular in summer for hiking and biking enthusiasts because of the back country roads and trail access. Perfect location for the Death Ride. About 15 minutes to Echo Lake.

What makes this cabin unique

Quiet forested cabin in residential neighborhood featuring wild life, the Truckee river, convenient access to the back country hiking, cross country skiing, biking trails, ski resorts, and lakes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed for 3 nights. We decided at the last minute to take our bikes to Tahoe and enjoy the off season great weather. The house is located in a perfect area to take off and ride. We rode over to Sorenson's, then on to Markleeville. The scenery is unsurpassed! Fantastic location for hiking and biking, and just enjoying the outdoor beauty of Tahoe. The next day we took a short ride up to Fallen Leaf Lake and enjoyed a picnic lunch. The owners left us a bottle of wine, bread, cheese and muffins a which we conveniently packed in our backpacks for lunch by the lake. The house is very comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed cooking and soaking in the hot tub after our great days outdoors. We sat by the fireplace at night, and had a fair amount of movies to choose from Netflix which was available along with a few movies through their satellite dish service. The bed was comfy and cozy. The nights very quiet. This is the perfect house for couples escape, or small family. Why would anyone choose a hotel room when this accommodation is available at a better value, with all the comforts of home. We'll be back in October to enjoy the Fall colors.

Truly a Home Away

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay and are already planning for our next trip to the lovely cottage! Our family had everything we could ask for and more. The welcome basket and the fresh flowers was a wonderful surprise. Having a Keurig as well as a washer and dryer just made life even more relaxing. Thank you for making our vacation so relaxing and one to remember.

A white Christmas to remember!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a couple days over Christmas here. Debbie was very kind and professional. She made the whole experience very easy and welcoming. Her cozy cabin is set in a charming neighboorhood a short car ride away from town and a short walk away from the mountains. It was well equipt with everything you would need to sleep, cook, shower, fend off the snow. There were also many nice amenties; we particularly enjoyed the cable, books and jacuzzi! We would definitely return and recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway :)

Charming home with wonderful hosts, great location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed at this house over Thanksgiving, when snow blanketed the landscape and temps dipped down into the single digits. We stayed warm and cozy thanks to the wall heaters and wood stove, and loved the peaceful surroundings. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO properties and this one wins the award for outstanding hosts. Debbie and Art were welcoming (a nice gift basket welcomed us to the cottage), generous (provided coffee as well as lots of wood for the wood stove), and above all responsive. We had a few plumbing problems during our stay -- caused in part by the sub-freezing temperatures -- and they made sure they were addressed quickly. The hot tub had a malfunction that couldn't be fixed, despite their best efforts, and they generously comped us for this inconvenience.

The house itself was delightful and suited our family perfectly. Nice hardwood floors, very comfortable beds, plenty of hot water in the showers, and Direct TV and wi fi. The location was perfect for us, as it was between Lake Tahoe itself and Sierra-at-Tahoe, a ski resort near Echo Summit, where we spent two solid days. We would return there in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to others.
