This cabin was amazing. Exactly what my group and I were looking for. Property was in excellent condition exactly as advertised. Relaxing and secluded but still close to a bunch of attractions.
Fantastic place., clean, well stocked with the basics, plenty of space to spread out. Friendly owners, that are easy to reach. Highly recommended. Hopefully we will be able to stay here again.
Very nice lodging. At the echo, the other reviewers that this is a great place. I do have a couple complaints though. First there is a pumphouse from the golf course that is very close by and very very loud. All hours of the day and night it seems. Second step at the front porch is extremely high. They should redo their front steps to make them to code. The place was very well stocked, except for two items that I wish they would add Kleenex and napkins. We had to buy our own. Back to the noise issue from the golf course. I don’t know if there’s anything they can do with either the Township or the golf course to get that resolved, but it is not very enjoyable sitting outside with that kind of noise going on. They have such a great outdoor set up too.

Jim, thank you for your concerns. We contacted builder to do work on the porch over a year ago including the front high step. They finally started today!!! The pump house is for the golf course sprinklers . We have spoken to the management about it with no luck . The equipment they have is very old & I understand it’s very expensive There is new management now so maybe they’ll do something .Maybe more insulation. We do stock kleenex . Cleaner must of forgot to put more out. It’s in the master bedroom closet. Any missing items or questions can be addressed texting us. We don’t stock napkins but there’s plenty of paper towel. We are constantly making improvements every year. This year installed an aeration system for the pond to clear it up. Replaced full futon with queen futon, new washer & dryer, Porch works is going in now . The fire pit will also be improved this year .
Great house, great location, and great hosts. My friends and I had a wonderful time. The house we very clean and had everything we needed to feel right at home.
The house was even more amazing than the pictures, had everything you could think of, amazing views, hot tub, we emm joyed sledding and the Pac-Man game! 10/10 would recommended to anyone!
We enjoyed our stay very much so that we booked already for next year! The place makes you feel just at home. We had 19 women stay over and a few visitors for dinner and a bonfire and everyone was impressed. Everything is just like the pictures and house is fully equipped with all the essentials. Host are great as well!
This was our second time staying at Big Bear Lodge with a party of 16 and it was such an amazing time! The house is huge, fully stocked, very cozy and clean. The hot tub is a great bonus on a chilly Fall evening but one of my favorite spots is the fire pit with tons of seating for everyone along with the outdoor sound system. Brian is great and communication was wonderful! We will definitely be back again next year!!!
This was our second time staying here and our stay was just as awesome as last year. Thank you Brian for such a wonderful place to get away and relax with friends
Really enjoyed our stay. The hosts had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. 10 women and a bed for everyone, plus. Will definitely be going back.
Great Place to stay, everything was awesome and great communication with the host!

We have always wanted to own a home in Northern Michigan and we were able to do so now in 2020. We love getting away from all the busyness of living in a major metropolitan area and escaping to the great Michigan north country. We are hoping to enjoy our new home in Comins Michigan for many years with our children and grand children. It is our hope that you too will be able to enjoy your stay here at our new house also.
Why they chose this property
We love being in Northern Michigan and experiencing all of God's wonderful creation there - e.g., pine and birch trees, natural forests, and beautiful nights showcasing God's amazing works. We also love log style cabins like this one, and how it's situated right off of a wonderful Cedar Valley Golf course. In addition, we liked how this home was in the country, but yet within walking distance to an amusement fun park (open during Summer only) and RV Campground. Many other activities can be done nearby also including canoeing/kayaking down the famous Ausable River, snowmobiling, RV trails, and hunting.
What makes this property unique
Large home able to accommodate large families or groups for reunions, Guys/Girls getaways, etc..
Right next to Cedar Valley Golf Course, Cedar Valley Wild Frontier Fun park, and Cedar Valley Campground.
Many activities to do in the area including canoeing/kayaking and fishing on the Ausable River, Snowmobiling and off-roading on trails, and hunting in nearby state forests.
